  1. I am not that hopeful as I suspect they were offering upgrades that weren’t even available ☹️
  2. Just wondered if anyone else on here has submitted an upgrade bid on cruise N314 (Canary Islands)? I still haven't heard back yet and the cruise is only 4 days away. Wondering whether this is a good sign or a bad sign? I know it says they reserve the right to let you know as close as 1 day before, but does anyone know if this is common in practice? Also interested to hear of anyone's upgrade experiences with P&O for different cruise numbers. Thanks.
  3. We are only interested in the family suite. There are only 2 of those so we know they're not by the nightclub or anything. We know that the balcony on them is windy but apart from that there seem to be no other drawbacks. As you rightly say, often it would be too risky to upgrade. Some of the suites are in bad positions iirc and it seems strange that they would do that.
  4. I did wonder if that was the case but I'm not convinced that anyone in a family suite would upgrade as I think they would be worse off in a suite (even though they are more expensive) as there would only be one bedroom and one bathroom. I'm glad I came across this thread though as it's allowing me to come to terms with the fact that my bid won't be successful even though it was some way above minimum. Also why would they let you bid for the Penthouse suite when it's not available as there is nothing above that to upgrade to?
  5. From what I have read on here then, they can invite you to bid on cabin types that aren't even available? Why would they do that? We have been given about 5 different cabin types to bid for but I think only one type has any availability left - I am confused and annoyed as I was hoping to get a family suite rather than have 4 of us in a balcony cabin.
