  1. Oh well. It is worth a shot right?
  2. Thank you. I’m still torn on bidding. Not sure if I should go with a mid kind of bud or max it out and try to really get the royal suite. Max bid would total $6000 (3k per guest)
  3. Thanks. Yes, I'm thinking that it makes more sense to just pay a few dollars extra for a special drink occasionally.
  4. Right now it is showing $20 per person per day. I'm new to this so I don' thave Captains Club unless I got enrolled in that automatically.
  5. Another question since you have been so wonderfully helpful - how are the cocktails under the basic beverage package? I reviewed the list of liquor and stuff when we first booked and those are fine with me, but as far as saying "make me a bloody mary" or whatever is that pretty reasonable? I understand with that package I'm not getting the mint ginger top shelf fancy thing, and I'm fine with that for the most part. I do enjoy high end cocktails but I"m not sure it's worth $20 per person per day extra (That is what they want for the upgrade).
  6. Ok - I'm new to all of this so I had no idea. Makes sense.
  7. That's what I see when I go in to modify. It doesn't give the same list of stuff I did when I entered my credit card info.
  8. Ok, so I ended up putting in a bid earlier before I replied saying i could screenshot the page, so now I don't see the same screen I saw earlier when I selected it. I can see the FAQs which I suppose anyone can. https://www.celebritycruises.com/bid-on-cruise-room-upgrade/celebrity-moveup-faqs
  9. Yes I think the language is what needs to be clarified. I think the term for perks being used is "promotions". These are the FAQs https://www.celebritycruises.com/bid-on-cruise-room-upgrade/celebrity-moveup-faqs They mention "promotions" which based on what I was told on the phone and what many are saying here, are the drink package, wifi, etc. Not the amenities that come with the room. Of course, the issue is the Royal Suite purchased outright includes those promotions + the amenities. But with Moveup, the promotions are excluded. The big question is how is this enforced? I guess they can see I have only purchased the basic beverage package. It came with the cruise when we purchased it. We bought the 10A land and cruise tour and that was bundled in. So I'm not highly motivated to upgrade my beverage package but very interested in potentially going all out for the suite and the amenities.
  10. When I get home later I’ll try to grab a screenshot of what I’m seeing on my end.
  11. Makes perfect sense! Yes, we are really torn on trying to get it. I can't seem to see any availability so I have no idea if they actually have open royal suites or not.
  12. to move up from my stateroom veranda to the royal suite the bid range is $600 to $3000 - it also mentions this is a promotional price that is 50% off. .
  13. The upgrade range is $600 to $3000 and mentions a 50% promotional discount. Not sure if this is a good deal. I'm in the statesman veranda room.
  14. Exactly! That is the page I have been looking at. It's a mess, just like the rest of their website and app.
  15. Yep, this is the clarification I got. I'm sure it's possible some people have been upgraded and gotten it for some reason, maybe due to error. But this seems to be the official stance.
  16. This is what was so confusing. The website says these things are included in the Royal Suite amenities and then on the phone they tell me I will not get them. It's strange. I wonder if I do end up winning the bid if once I get in I can convince them to give me the premium drinks since I'm in the RS?😀
  17. This is what I was just told on the phone. They even put me on hold again and went and asked a supervisor to make sure. AFter 3 hours on hold!
  18. Were you upgrading from different type of suite or from a stateroom? I actually finally got someone on the phone but they are currently double checking on the unlimited specialty dining thing for me. They said I would NOT get the premium beverages - I will only carry over the basic drink package.
  19. https://www.celebritycruises.com/things-to-do-onboard/staterooms/suite-class/royal-suite I've heard so many conflicting things. So I'll get all the things listed on the page above? That is not quite what other people on here have written. For example, the onboard credit.
  20. This is the trip of a lifetime for my family and I am deliberating bidding to get a Royal Suite upgrade over our stateroom. Are we going to be treated to the same perks and everything if we get upgraded to the Royal Suite? I've read several posts and comments on this forum but still not quite sure I understand what comes with this and what does not. Currently we have a veranda stateroom with the basic drink package and I believe internet. We have booked a few excursions. If our bid is accepted for the Royal Suite, will we be treated basically like we had booked that from the get go? It seems like some things will not be included (premium drink package, excursion credit), but all the important stuff is (24/7 butler, being able to order or eat at all dining included, access to all the retreat stuff)? Edited to add: I did speak with someone yesterday on the phone (celebrity customer service) and they assured me we would get all the Royal Suite perks. Then my wife called them last night and they said you didn't get all the perks. I haven't been able to get connected to anyone on the phone today, so I'm kind of sweating this. To book this outright on the celebrity website for the Royal Suite plus land tour would be $6k+ ---- the upgrade bid is significantly lower and so we'd be getting this at around a 50% discount based on my very uneducated research.
