  1. Thank you for sending that! But that is VERY high priced! Almost 8k!
  2. Thanks, and to be honest the three or four times I was on Star Clippers the ships were in good shape, I never had a problem with them other than too many people lol I'll have to see if sea cloud has waived single supplement specials
  3. wine-wine-wine, have you ever been on Star Clippers??
  4. Thank you, I searched alot and couldn't find anything so thank you for this! Yes, they are somewhat pricey. Similar sailing vessel to Star Clippers
  5. Hi all, Does anyone know of any small ship lines like Katarina Lines (37 passengers) but that go to the Caribbean?? I'm not finding much luck other Star Clippers which is 145+ I'd love to do a 38+/- to the Caribbean but not having much luck, most go to Seychelles, South Pacific areas. Thanks
  6. Here's a link to another small ships website for your use: https://www.small-cruise-ships.com/trip/cruises-garden-eden/
  7. Here’s a short review of my Variety cruise on the Panorama - Panama/Costa Rica 7-day cruise March 5-12, 2022 I have to say I was somewhat disappointed when arriving on board the Panorama. When I first booked this trip looking at the photos I thought this was going to be the most posh cruise ship I've been on yet, and having been on five other small boat cruises, and not to mention the pricing also made me think this would be a higher standard ship. But when first boarding looking at the aft deck I noticed all the blue cushions were streaked with black marks, I thought I do not want to sit on these! (see picture). I wasn't sure if this was grease, oil or just plain dirt, also looking at the bottom of where the seat meets the deck you can see it's not cleaned very well. You can also see how worn and faded the wood railings are, not kept up at all. The dining area carpet was very dirty, you can easily see by the photo how bad it was. When tendering back to the boat you could see the rust along the waterline area and also just pockmarks of dirt all along the sides of the ship, regardless of whether this ship just came back from a cruise and went out again, you can see it's not been maintained properly. Generally the service was great, the staff were very attentive and always there when you needed them. The rooms were well kept and always cleaned promptly. The food was okay, nothing to really brag about or really complain about, just okay. I would have to say it was the boat itself that stood out as not being very well maintained. Also we had a problem with the captain, he wasn't letting people swim off the aft deck most times, saying something about 'big fish', we later found out he was generally not anchoring where people could swim or just wouldn't let them swim. Personally on all my ships I've never seen a captain walking around looking so slovenly, old tee-shirt, dirty shorts, basically unkempt, every other captain on other ships actually wore whites, not that that's what makes a ship, just saying. In fact the captain was relieved of his command and another captain joined us midway through the trip (I heard due to complaints), he was a little better, at least more personable. Also, we only went through the Panama Canal one way, the Pacific locks, we didn’t go through the Atlantic locks but docked somewhere in the middle islands where we were driven to the taxi stop at the end of our trip. We were told something about costruction but the rumor circulating was that Variety didn’t want to pay the high price to go through the other locks. Not sure how true that is. Regardless I still had a great time, just not sure I would recommend Variety.
  8. Has anyone ever sailed on Dream Yachts Charter? I was looking at doing their Seychelles 7 day cruise, BUT, this is a big departure for me, there's only 12 people on board, and going as a single person and probably all couples (?) well that's a small ship, I'm really loving the 37 people ship, plenty of people to get to know, BUT 12???? This is what they refer to as a coin charter cruise. If you don't have a good group..... Any comments greatly appreciated.! https://www.dreamyachtcharter.com/cabins/seychelles/praslin-dream-premium-2024/?destination_id=482413&period_from=05.02.2024&period_to=12.02.2024&current_currency=USD
  9. Hey all, I just came back from Katarina Lines Opatjia to Optajia ‘Kvarner Islands cruise’ on the M/S Moonlight for one week. The last time I went with Katarina was just after the pandemic, the Split to Dubrovnik week long cruise on the M/S Adriatic Sun, and knowing nothing about their different classes of ships, this time I learned that I was originally on their top of the line Deluxe Superior line ship, but this time I was two steps below on their Premium Superior ship. With that said, I had a great time BUT their are quite a few differences, the one that really stood out was at breakfast and lunch they had plastic cups on the table, actually, not even on the table, you had to go to the water cooler and get one to fill and get up again for a refill. I missed having someone came over and refill my glass! The room was a good size for a single person (they waived the single supplement as I always try to get) but it had two beds that were anchored so they couldn’t be joined together, on my Premium Superior cruise I had a large double bed. And these ‘twin’ beds were even narrower than the ‘average’ twin bed. Still I have to say the room was larger than my previous Variety cruise or Star Clipper cruise. But otherwise the crew were attentive, and the breakfasts and lunches which were included were also good, lunch is a three course meal so that makes up for no dinner other than the captains dinner which I dread anyway. I did like that for dinner I could in town for a local dish. I also love the relaxed atmosphere, shorts, tee shirts and sandals throughout. That’s one thing on Star Clipper’s that I’m not crazy about, I want to relax, not dress to impress, besides, much less clothes to then bring, meaning only a carry on board the plane. I have to add also that the ship was spotlessly clean! Not at all like my last two Variety Cruises which looked run down. So that’s my review of my Katarina Lines cruise, I would defintily go with them again, I just wish they branched out to other destinations than Croatia being they have, I heard over a hundred ships!
  10. asalemo, thanks for sharing that info, I'm always looking for different cruise lines to check out. I wish I knew sooner, I'm going back to Croatia in a weeks time to do Opatjia to Opatjia and the islands around it, as I mentioned before I did the Split to Dubrovnik cruise with Katarina and loved it. I'll take a look at their Unforgettable Croatia website and their ship!
  11. Oh wow, I didn't know they also had those, I've only seen the type in my picture, I also saw the picture I sent going through the Panama Canal. But I like the one you sent! Very sleek!! Where will you go on that?
  12. Oakridge, I'm in Tahiti right now and I'm sure this is a Windstar ship, I've seen them before and they are impressive!
  13. Nice! Glad to see people are responding to this new Topic! I did Katarina's Split to Dubrovnik cruise 'One Way Wonders' July, 2021 and loved it so much I'm going back September 2, 2023 for their Opatjia to Opatjia cruise, 'Kvarner Bay of Islands' cruise on the MV Moonlight! You say there are 17 of you going! You'll take over the ship! I like how you were able to list you're past cruises, I'm still new with this site and still not sure what the '+ Quote' is for.
