  1. Can someone tell me their experiences taking this tour and not getting Captain Bob? At first they told me that they can't guarantee getting Captain Bob until the morning of and then they told me he is already booked for the day when I said I didn't really want to book unless they can guarantee him. In a way, I feel lied to. I REALLY want to take this tour because his reviews are amazing...but are they still amazing even without Bob himself? They said they don't use a dive boat or the larger slower boat unless you have a large party. I guess I just need to know $110 a person is worth it and that I should go with this tour vs Robinson Speed Boat Tours.

This tour is fantastic! We have done it twice. We had captain Fab and requested him for the second time over captain bob. I'm sure he is great too but captain Fab was just fabulous. He's branching out on his own slowly and offers a trip to Anguilla. Hope to take that tour soon. You won't be disappointed doing this tour with any captain. Lunch was delicious.

  2. There was just an email posted from Princess CS the other day(4/9) to someone on a similar thread that STILL stated everyone in the room had to purchase the drink package. The info is all over place, even from Princess!!

Must be OLD news because I just purchased the alcohol package for my DH sailing on the Caribbean Princess. My cc was billed for one package. Already checked my cc statement :). You should call yourself and if the tell you differently then ask to speak to a supervisor b/c it has just recently changed and the person that you may speak to might not have read the "new"information before hitting the punch clock.

Bottom Line: everyone in same cabin does not have to purchase the drink package anymore :)

  3. I meant that there had to be 20 minutes time difference on card swipes. If you got a drink @ 1:20 for instance it would be after 1:40 before you could get another.

I was told differently meaning there is no time limit. You pay you enjoy period.

  4. The package seems to vary from ship to ship!!!!

On the CB, Does everyone in the same cabin has to buy the all inclusive package? I have heard not.... Hopefully it is right!!!!!!

Nope.... I just prepaid for the package for my hubby. Caribbean Princess 3/4 night sailings in May of 2014 ;)

  5. So, they *are* selling it on cruises that are less than 7 days?? Can anyone confirm if they've seen it sold on the Caribbean Princess for sailings of 3/4/5 days?

    Thanks! :)

I can happily confirm that this in fact is being sold on the Caribbean Princess on their shorter cruises 3/4 nighters. I just bought a package for my hubby for our upcoming weekend cruise over Memorial Day Weekend :) I was able to prepay so the bill will be paid before we even set sail. :p

  6. No they do not as of mid March. That was the original plan but no doubt got lots of flack for the obvious reasons and justly so. I DID hear on our last cruise there was a 20" "timer" on drink orders. I read the sign hawking the program that was on display and think I actually read that too but could be mistaken. Why didn't they have this wonderful program in the early '90's?????

(there was a 20" "timer" on drink orders) May I ask, what does this mean? I am guess 20 minutes between each drink order? or is it a 20 drink limit? I can hardly imagine having 20 drinks but maybe some do... Couldn't do it for all the money in the world.

  7. WHAAAAAT?????? Oh, please tell me that this is not true...... We're going on a quick get-a-way on the Caribbean Princess and was hoping it would be available.

I'm going to call them right now... Yikes......

Oh HAPPY DAYS are here again.....

Just got off the phone and YES, all ships now do have the drink package and YES, again, you can prepay. YAHOO :D:D:D Hubby is now all set for the weekend get-a-way aboard the Caribbean Princess

    Thanks again everyone :)

  8. Another FYI. It is not available on all ships.

  9. I believe you're able to pre-order it over the phone with Princess now (still not available on the website).

I would love to pre-order but when I called that said only the soda package. Maybe I should try calling again.

Thanks to all for your quick replies. Hubby and I are ready to set sail.

  10. A couple of questions hopefully someone could answer.......;)

*** when wanting to purchase the "all" inclusive alcohol package, where does one go once upon the ship?

*** can you buy it right away or do you have to wait until a certain time?

*** is there a spacing time limit in between beverages?

    Cost? $56. ? :):)

    Thanks

  11. No limit, I don't think you can outdrink the package.

Correct, I definitely will not but it's nice to know that I don't have to count or pay attention if I were to have one more than the limit (if they had one). One less thing to think about :)

Is one able to prepay before the cruise and if so where on their website can I locate that information?

  12. The auto tip is an option, if you want to remove it you can, it a personal choice for you to make. You dont have to be orded by a cc member not to to take it off.

Thank you for the support.... That is kind of what I felt anyway. It's easy to tell others how to spend their money. I love the look upon the faces of those that make our cruise experience awesome when we personally pass on the envelope to them. We usually write a special note on it and tell them to enjoy and do as they please. They made our week and we like to make their day :)

  13. When you exit the tender, keep to the left. A bit down the beach you will see am open gazebo over the water - that is where the reef is located. There is a guy who stands in the gazebo to mare sure people aren't getting onto or damaging the reef. He usually throws food in the water to keep the fish happy and active. You won't have any trouble finding it. It is on the active end of the beach. Enjoy!

Thanks for the tip and I will be sure to take your advise..... Sunny/shady area, food, bar, and snorkeling all in one area..... I'm set to go :D

  14. If you get on the first tender you will have your choice of quiet shady spots. There are several shade structures with loungers placed underneath. There are palapas and some palms. These areas are to the left looking at the island from the ship.

On the right side there a hundreds of blue clamshells that are available for rent. We found them very hot and tend to block views unless you get one in the front. There is also a food pavillion set up on both sides.

We prefer the left side. Band/bar/food etc.

Thanks for the insight. We will take your advise and go left. What do they offer for food hotdogs, hamburgers, chicken ribs, .....? Anything else? Chips, fries.....? I know all about those clam shells and I agree that they are hot!

  15. I won't argue the point on who has cruised the longest, however I will stand by my belief of how the system works on Princess. :)

Then it's fair to say that iwe can agree to disagree. What works for you and what works for me definitely works for those that work for us :)

  16. Even though!!! They have to turn it in because you removed the auto tips. You just did them wrong and they lost out. :(

I beg to differ and I have been cruising for 30(+) years. I personally heaved asked them and was told either way works (as long as you truly tip).

  17. DO NOT remove the "cabin tip" shown on your folios as the hotel charge. By the way it isn't per cabin the charge is per person and will appear on both you and your daughter's folio. If you remove it any additional cash tips provided to staff must be turned in and shared by all in the pool. You gain nothing with this approach and stand to lose good service.

I have had it removed before and still had great service. It's a personal thing and feel strongly that I want to give the cash directly to those that took care of me (room attendant, waiter, assistant waiter, etc...) and we even give extra. Now what they truly do with it is their business as IMHO they earned it. If anything, it makes me feel good rewarding those that made my vacation great.

  18. They just doubled the price in the last couple of months.

Not much, just quiet and some limited drink/healthy juice type service, lite healthy type appetizers (limited).

There is a pool outside the area thats open to all adults.

    We don't use the Sanctuary.

It does fill up fast so you have to be on it as soon as you board.

Well I think that we will pass on this and find another quiet sunny/shady pool area that doesn't cost and use that $80. for the beverage fund. Do you think that there would be a drink package offered on this 3 night cruise?

  19. See above in red.

Wow! I guess it truly has been some time since sailing with Princess. to pay $40 per person a day to sit in a quiet area by the pool with great service I am sure is a bit steep. I remember only paying $20 per day or for the whole cruise (7 nights) came out to $15 per day per person.

Is it truly worth the cost?

What do you get besides shade, thick cushion chaise loungers, etc,,,?

    Many thanks ~
