  1. That's some sound advise. May have to follow in your steps. Thank you.
  2. Take your points on board. Which app should I use to book the tickets? Would these be etickets?
  3. Thanks for your message. Thinking we'll do Pisa and Florence as only wanting photo opportunity. Do you reckon we should book train tickets in advance or can we purchase on the day? Do train tickets get sold out or can we stand worse case if no seats available. TIA
  4. Thanks for your message. Should I be booking train tickets in advance, do tickets get sold out or we can still purchase on the day and worse case stand if no seats are available.
  5. Thank you for your message. Your tips are helpful. Do you reckon booking train tickets in advance is a good move or are we able to purchase on the day? Do train tickets sell out or you have to have a seat and can not stand in the train?
  6. Thanks for your message. For both Pisa and Florence we just want to take it in, enjoy the moment and take some pics, is that still doable? What is recommended to must see in Florence? For Pisa we are only going for the leaning tower.
  7. Thanks, do you remember the number of the bus?
  8. Thank you for your message. That's exactly what we want to do. We want to visit both places and just take photos etc, you think that would be doable?
  9. Thank you for your reply, appreciate it. We don't really want to go inside any of the sights to be honest. Just photo opportunity really, you think it would still be much?
  10. Thank you. What sights do you recommend to see in Florence? How many hours do you think we'll need? Don't really want to go inside any sights, just pics really?
  11. Apologies if this question has been asked on another thread. We are first time cruisers and going on our cruise in a couple of weeks. One of the call of port is Livorno docking from 7am-7pm. We are looking to visit Pisa and Florence. How far is the train station from the port? Is it walking distance? What is the best mode of transport to get from the port to the stataion? We are travelling on the Enchanted Princess, are they likely to provide a shuttle? How much time should we allow to get back to the port on the return? I was thinking of being back for 6pm, is that enough time, what is the norm? Apologies for the so many questions, I'm guessing you can tell I am an anxious first time cruiser. 🙂
  12. Hi Again, Was looking to book the Santa Margherita to Genova train ticket, looking at the timings and the ship leaving at 7pm , would arriving back at the ship for 6/6.15pm be ok or should we be arriving back earlier? I'm looking at either 16:46 arriving at 17:26 or 16:55 arriving 17:46? What is the norm time to get back to the ship after a day in port when the ship is due to leave at 7pm? Appreciate your help.
  13. Thanks mate, appreciate your msg. Will def look into the new shows you've mentioned.
  14. Hi again, sorry another question, what time is the best time to embark on the ship? We were thinking 1-1.30pm but then reading some reviews that lunch buffet is over at 1.30, so should we get on the shop earlier, maybe 11-11.30? TIA
  15. Thank you for your reply. Any shows you recommend to watch/miss? Just so I have understood correctly, we do not need to pre book our dining times for any of the days? we could just walk in when we are ready to eat?
  16. Thank you for your reply, just had a look on the app. Didn't notice this functionality. Any shows you recommend to watch/miss?
  17. Hi, does anyone know the show times on the Princess Enchanted? We are due to go on our first cruise to the Mediterranean next month and was wondering when on port days should we be heading back to the ship early to have dinner early and get to the shows? Do the shows require pre booking?
  18. I've emailed them and got a reply to say no pre booking is required, however, I will take your advice and go to the ticket booth in advance just in case. Really appreciate all your help on this, you really have made my life easier. Now I have to figure out the other ports of call. 😂
  19. Where can I book the tickets from in advance? I've been on the link you have sent but can't see anywhere I can book.
  20. I can not thank you enough for your reply. It is really helpful and we'll explained. Thank you also for the link provided for the train and Ferry. How long do you think it will take to see each place? 2 hours each should do it? Can I buy both Ferry and train tickets online beforehand, is that what you recommend?
  21. We travel in Aug this year. Port time is 7am-7pm. To be honest I looked on tripadvisor to see the list of attractions and most them were museums and churches, not that I do not like seeing them but at the same time don't want to spend our whole time being inside, hence chose the places I've mentioned. I think I got camogli wrong, it's Rapello. What would you suggest we do for the day?
  22. Port day is on a Thursday. The places I have mentioned are the places I'm interested in. Are these doable by public transport?
  23. First time cruisers and would like to get fellow cruisers opinion on what is the best shore excursion for 1 port day in Genoa. I'm thinking of Portofino, Santa Margherita and Camogli. Looking on Tripadvisor to see if I can book a tour but the price is very expensive. It seems booking direct with Princess cruise is cheaper. However, I'm wondering if I am able to make this trip DIY, is public transport good and easy to use and get to the places I have mentioned? Looking at google maps it seems like a lot of the attractions are scattered around and not close by, don't really want o be rushing around to see everything and risk missing the cruise back. Any advice and tips appreciated. TiA
  24. Thanks all for your messages but feel that this topic is getting alot of heat. As a first time cruiser it's a little over whelming but feel I have an understanding of what to wear.
