  1. Many years ago, we cruised on Costa out of Venice and all announcements were made in at least five languages. Because of the diverse nationalities of the cruisers, they didn't have comedians or acts based on communicating via language. We're looking at cruising the Mediterranean on Princess in 2025. Does Princess only made announcements in english? Do they have english speaking comedians, etc?
  2. I agree we will probably never know but I’m just curious by nature! Lol. And yes, it’s time for Celebrity to make up for their mistake/change/or whatever they want to call it. It’s disappointing but this won’t affect our ability to have a good time!
  3. Oh I'm sure we don't know the full story. And who knows if we ever will know the full story? Celebrity needs to dig into the problem and determine if THEY have a problem. Celebrity should be able to determine WHO made the change. Question the employee and find out WHY they made the change. My gut is telling me a Celebrity rep bumped him to book their friends or family. I'd be looking at the Celebrity employee's Facebook and Instagram to see if they have a connection to the person who booked the room! But I'm sneaky like that! lol It really paid off back when I was an internal auditor for a Fortune 500 company! 🙂 Another idea, did the Celebrity employee receive a better commission if they booked a better room for whoever was on the phone? OR the potential customer would only book the cruise if they had a "____" class cabin? Who knows? If there's a reasonable reason to change his room (repairs that can't be repaired, etc) just tell him! I've never heard of this happening on other cruise lines nor the 10+ cruises I've taken before. Although I've only cruised on Celebrity once before this September cruise.
  4. I forgot to add, they also changed my brother/TA to late dining. Everyone else in our party is early dining!
  5. The downgrade was from Prime Ocean View to Ocean View. And the deal was better through the cruise travel agency he works for than the regular TA rate. Good idea! He's not on CC, but I'll mention it to him.
  6. My brother says Celebrity didn't know he was a cruise travel agent unless they somehow put it together. He booked his cabin through the system just like he booked the other two rooms. He immediately contacted the company he works for and they are working the problem. And he has talked to numerous Celebrity people. I'll suggest an email to their executive offices, although he may have already done that. (He was QUITE upset yesterday when he realized this had happened!) It's amazing that Celebrity tried to say "you requested the change" but he never asked for a refund or OBC for the difference? That just doesn't make sense.
  7. We are group of three couples traveling on a sold out Summit trip out of Boston in September. Although we're traveling together, our three cabins were booked individually. Yesterday, one of our three cabins was downgraded to a lower class and moved to the floor below our reserved rooms! Like many groups traveling together, we had picked three rooms next to each other. When we called Celebrity, they said "You called and requested to downgrade and change your room." My brother didn't call Celebrity and make such a request! Upon further questioning, the Celebrity rep told him, the change was made "in house". He's talked to several Celebrity reps since then, but since the cruise is sold out, there's not much they can do! Celebrity says "they're looking into the problem". Did someone at Celebrity bump someone out of a room to make space for a family or friend? Incidentally, my brother is a cruise travel agent and these reservations were made in August 2022. He said, "At least they did this to me and not one of my clients! But I'll never book another Celebrity cruise!" Has this happened to anyone else? This is ridiculous!
