We had two medevacs on one cruise with MSC Grandiosa from Kiel to Barcelona in '22, one in Kategat (Denmark) and one in front of Portugal, both late in the evening. Because we were travelling YC Maisonette in front of the Ship we were asked to clear the balcony/Jakuzzi and dimm the cabin lights to avoid to blind the pilots. The evacs both were by winch from bow of the Ship.

We did not get any compensation offer, but we´d declined if MSC did. We would'nt get any advantage of an emergency of a fellow men. 

Where to begin....

Filet Mignon, casarecce, Lobster, tornedos, butterchicken, escargot, champagner Rissotto, all kind of soups, especialy bouliabase..... the salads also tasting good if it should be lighter dishes...

For Desert all sorts of icecream and the Tiramisu for sure.....

For breakfast "MSC Express" will make me very happy.....

We've seen interlopers also twice on our cruise in Oct. 23 on Meraviglia to NE & Canada.

One time for Breakfast and one time for Dinner. In both cases it were Familys with kids. This is not an example of good education if the parents trying to betray in front of their children.

It is not an american phenomenon only, but in europe the staff is better aware because of the daily changes of paxes in every port, therefore they ask more about cc or wristbands.

Once i asked an elder lady that tried.to sneak in behind us if i could help her to the Concierge....she turned on her heels and went out of YC-Area. 

We dont like interlopers because they are betrayals, we all pay for being YC-Pax and they try to get it for free on a low fare. That is not fair...

If you book YC, MSC will blow you away, for the non YC classes it depends when and where you will travel on wich ship.

No, the cabin layout differs only by bed bowward or backward. No beds near the balcony.

There are cushions, only in case of bad weather or if its early or late maybe the cushions taken away by staff for storage.

If the weather is uncertain you maybe have to ask for cushions but there are cushions for sure.

We had an offer too for a cruise never booked. I think it is a glitch, the links in the Mail leading to plusgrade.com. 

Like the User before i got to Official MSC Website with the same outcome "seems that your ...."

The offer were for euribia, the cabinnumber is listed to can be booked - its for the repositioning from Hamburg to Kiel..... Weird....

Get your self a dayroom in Manhattan, it is perfect to store the luggage, you can do what ever you want and you have the possibility to take a shower after the Sightseeing and get refreshed and relaxed to the airport.

If you need two bathrooms, you should try to book Maisonettesuites. Unfortuneately not to be found on Seaside-class-ships....

Meraviglia-Class and the new World-Class you have about 8 Cabins with two bathrooms in front of the ship, the amount of space is about 495 sqft placed on two decks. On the world class you have two balconys either and the cabins placed inside YC on deck 16, the older mera-class the cabins placed outside YC Area on deck 12 because the cabins were formerly Aurea- Category.

To us for two ppl this cabin class is best, the price is reasonable lower then RS or OS

yes, you can use the exit to leave the cabin, but you can't enter through that door.

yes, if there are two passengers, they're hoping for more revenues.....

2 x Meraviglia, Divina, 6 x Grandiosa (this is our favourit one), Seaview, Belissima, World Europa.

Because of the pandemic we missed Virtuosa, one more Meraviglia, now we miss seaside grand voyage.

Upcoming Seashore in September and one more world Europa next february....

Deck 16 is ours also, on deck 18 you have the sundeck above, and in the morning time they're put the chairs from the pile and scratch all over the deck with it - maybe you'll wake up really early because of that. Deck 16 is the heart of the YC, the concierge is always seconds away, the lounge is on the same floor, everything is easy....

i think he was asking for the free bottle of spirits that are included in YC for the minibar. The selection for that is restricted on a few brands without charge.

- Brands of Scotch/Bourbon/whisky are limited, usual you can pick Jack Daniels or Johnny Walker... something in that class...

- They replenish the mini bar twice a day, only exceptions are the choclate bar and pringels, they are not refilled without charge. You can speak to your butler wich drinks they should replenish, what you like most.

- Get your own sunscreen

- Never expirienced the extra charge in YC

- about cpap water i have no clue

- dont worry about the app, deinstall and install it once again, log in again and try if it gets better. If not, Concierge aboard will help you to deal with the app in the right way. you don't have to check in via app, they'll do it while bording you - or you do it via Web.

On Galanight you get Lobster also in the med in YC Restaurant - one month ago on World Europa.

But if they do it on request.... never asked and never seen it if not listed on menu.

Meraviglia doesn't have an Owner's Suite but the Royal Suite does have a separate tub in addition to a shower. 

i know, i wrote not only about Mera, "and younger ships...." includes World Europa 😉

meraviglia and younger ships have no tubs in the suites, only maisonettecabins with two BR have one bathtub in the upper bathroom and a normal shower with flat tub in the lower bathroom.

think the owner suites or royalsuites could have maybe tubs.....

The app shows pretty much everything.

Wayfinder to your cabin and other Locations on the ship, chat with your cabin mates or you can add new friends while aboard the ship so you don't have to tell your phonenumber to others, Events, Menus, Security advices, an itenary of the day with common events, your personal itenary (i.e. your appointments in spa or the booking in the speciality Restaurants or your booked excursions), excursions, informations on the ship and your receipt with all your expenses and network related stuff to manage your online devices....listing isn't complete....

This is our 12th YC-Cruise. We were only one time outside YC and it was a mess - to many folks from southern europe with all the "fun" that comes along with that ppl. Outside YC you have no opinion to get a break from the loud madness that every time starts when thousands and thousands of raised temperamentful mediterranean ppl come along. Don't get ne wrong, i like italy, bit i need a space that is more quiet and slow. YC is the only way to travel with MSC comfortable.

thank you for your very detailed report, we step up in YC tomorrow in Genoa. We're very excited, because of your journey and because the ship is new to us.

Maybe we'll meet each other on another journey, world tends to get tiny - especialy for cruise-addicts like us. 😉

I think, we must cruise at least once out of an other port because we start allways out of Genova, therefore we couldn't join an excursion in Genova since yet. Your Pictures making us excited to do this in the Future.

Genova is the nearest port to us, we can travel by car - what is comfortable for us because we don't like to fly because of luggage restrictions and the effort of time because of the Securitychecks. By Car we don't have an itenary to look after....
