Thank you. Not an expedition ship. We were looking at barcelona, canary islands, lisbon for 21 days in Nov and with what we are paying I didn't want to eat at a poolside restaurant, and cold nor a buffet. Just a nice sit down meal served with a glass of wine, bit at the same time.

We typically sail Azamara, Celebrity in suite class, but running out of itineraries. Have sailed Princess, and Holland America. Princess OK, HA not a fan. We do like the nightly entertainment including shows, singers, dancers and some rock music in the lounge at night, not a fan of jazz or piano bar. Guess we still think we are young even though 70. Looking at an upcoming Seabourn and Regent cruise. I hear the food is very good, but are there other things going on around the ship? Or is the entertainment more socially oriented? Also husband will wear dress shirt and khakis but not a blazer. Seaborne says we would have to eat at specialty restaurant on formal night if he doesn't wear a blazer but cannot guarantee that we can get a reservation for that night. Any opinions? Silverseas said he had to wear a blazer every night for dinner, so unfortunately we ruled Silverseas out. Has anyone been on Silverseas and can verify mandatory blazer? I find that recently cruise lines have been became more lenient with regards to formal dress code. Thanks for your feedback.

On the same 10/23 cruise. No. we were not able to get refund, only switch to same cruise next year, and yes they keep your money till next year.

The ship docks in Alexandira, Egypt. I booked the overnight excursion to the Pyramids and cruise down the Nile River, both of which are a good distance from the cruise ship. If the war escalates or there are issues in Egypt as last weekend two tourists and their guide were killed, it made me uncomfortable to be so far from the ship and its safety. Yes, I could have booked an excursion closer to the ship, however these are two things I wanted to see when I go to Egypt.

You were very lucky that Azamara allowed you to book a cruise to another location. At first they did not have an Ocean Suite available on next years cruise and they wanted us to pay an additonal $2800 for the World Owners Suite or downgrade to a Continent Suite. We asked if we could transfer the money to a cruise we have booked in Jan '25, the answer was No. We asked if we could book a different cruise the answer was No. They told us we had 2 choices, either take this years cruise as planned, (but we did not feel comfortable with the overnight in Egypt being so far from the ship), or transfer the dollars to next years cruise paying $2800 more for World Owner's or accepting a Continent suite. By the end of the call an Ocean suite became available and we reluctantly booked that but am an Elite member on Azamara and thinking of cancelling our next 25 day SA trip with Azamara over this.

Are you on the Azamara Pursuit Oct 23 embark Athens which includes Israel? I did not get any notifications from Azamara?
