  1. You will be jet-lagged and dead on your feet after all that walking. Follow Pet Nit Noy's Option 1 or 2 and finish with a boat tour from the Pont-Neuf (Vedettes du Pont-Neuf). That is a great, relaxing way to see Paris and get over jetlag.

This sounds like a good idea to me. I would do the walk #2 and then this boat trip.I have seen the lines to get ice cream 2 blocks long and although it is "the thing to do" I am just not sure it is worth standing in line that long to get it.We had traveled in Italy the year before we were in Paris and had some fantastic Gelato in Rome.

  2. I was originally booked on a Thanksgiving week cruise but got a good move over over offer (upgrade from inside to caribe deck balcony and OBC) a few weeks ago. I took it. Now my new cruise is sold out with three weeks to go. I'm hoping for a second move over offer. Maybe I can get a mini suite. :D

    Anybody ever have this happen?

    No.

  3. I am happy to help - Ask as much as you like :)

I am a planner to so understand very well the importance to plan way in advance. Makes the wait for the cruise go faster.

    Hello I-Cruiser!

Well I have searched but just not coming up with exactly what I am looking for. I am so sorry if this has already been answered 100 times.:o

We are on the Caribbean Princess June 12 for the North Cape and Summer Solstice 15 day cruise.Princess dropped Geiranger and added Andalsnes when they went from 14 to 15 days.:( I am disappointed as I really wanted to see Geiranger Fjord. I would still like to get to Geiranger but have not been able to figure out how to do it within our time constraints. We rarely take ship excursions. We will be in Andalsnes 8 am to 6 PM and Alesund 8 Am to 5 PM. is it possible to see Geiranger from either of these ports or can you make a suggestion as to another port we could travel from. Our ports are Stavenger,Flaam,Olden,,Andalsnes,Trondheim,North Cape,Tromso,Gravdal,Alesund,Bergen.

Thank you so much for your help!!!It is so nice of you to help everyone.

  4. Does this have to be a cruise? Getting around between two great cities of Stockholm and Copenhagen is neither hard nor expensive. You could also get a cheap flight between Copenhagen and Amsterdam. The other option is booking a cruise and staying on the ship when it's ported in St Petersburg. I am the opposite as my conundrum last Spring was making final payment not knowing if St Petersburg would be included. That would have been a deal breaker for us as St Petersburg was the most important port for us. However, your reservations because of Putin aren't too different from mine on Erdogan.

our family of 6 thoroughly enjoyed our visit to SPB last June with ALLA tours. It was really the highlight of our Baltic cruise. I would not have taken a Baltic cruise if SPB was not included.

  5. Is the tea or milk on the room service menu free? Or do we have to pay for it unless we get a drink package?

It is free as are the iced tea and lemonade and juices. This is also available in the buffet.

  6. There seems to be a lot of price drops and sales on cruises particularly those headed for Europe & the Mediterranean. In view of what is going on in our world today, not surprised. Have been both places, but would think twice about booking in that area right now.

There are always price drops to Europe and the Med this time of year. We will be taking our 15th trip to Europe next June and all of these trips have been since 9/11. The events of 9/11 showed us that it is a very small world and just because we are in the U.S. we are not immune to terrorism.I feel the price cuts have as much to do with the high air fares as anything else. However even when the airfares were much lower we still always got big price drops this time of year.We have traveled all over Eastern and Western Europe since 9/11 and there is not one of these trips I would give up because I was ruled by fear. I would not travel to the Middle East now so I am afraid I have missed my chance to go to Israel and even Egypt.I have been to Turkey and Greece within the last 2 years which I totally enjoyed.I guess we all make our own choices in life and I choose to travel.I am not a fearful person though and have always felt very comfortable traveling all around Europe on my own not with a tour.

  7. OOOOHH, hope they'll do that for our sailing on 2/15.

How do you find out about these price drops? I get emails from Princess, but I haven't seen this one, so I'm wondering how I'd even know if there's a price drop on our cruise. I don't go checking the prices every day.

I check Princess but also use a online company that sends me alerts when prices change. You pay $1 per category/cruise but obviously save thousands.:D

  8. What a great price drop. I'm surprised to see such a good price drop this far out.

We are booked on the Carib Princess for a Norway Fjord cruise next June and got a price drop of $1700.00 pp that's $3400.00 total for our June 2015 about 2 weeks ago. In addition we got the 3 for free offer.:D We are as happy as can be!!!

  9. Situations like that are the reason I have a TA. She works for a very well known online travel agency. She has been booking cruises for 10 years and has the right contacts at the cruise lines to get her customers what they are entitled to.I also always get OBC that is offered by the travel agency and a discount off the cruise price.

  10. I think we are on the same cruise as you. We will dock in Southampton June 27th after our Norwegian Fjord cruise.I booked Princess air and our flight is at 3:20 on United. When I made my reservations on Princess EZ Air it said there to make sure your flight departs Heathrow after 2 PM and they didn't even show any flights that left earlier. If you have not checked Princess air do so as the fares were much lower than I could find anywhere else.

We docked at Southampton this year after our British Isles cruise and we did dock on time and might have been able to make a 12;30 flight. We had a late afternoon flight then too.I don't think I would enjoy stressing about my flights the whole time I am on a cruise. So the fact is you have a good chance to make your flight but there must be some reason why Princess is saying no flights before 2:00 PM. Only you know if it is worth the angst to you.I would not do it.

  11. I have to admit a bias, as we are booked on that Norwegian Star cruise. :) Obviously, the itineraries are very similar. A key difference for me was that NCL is visiting Geiranger and Princess is not, and that's one of the places I really wanted to see. On the flip side, I'm disappointed about missing Flaam. I think Copenhagen is more interesting than Southampton, but if you haven't visited London that might be a bigger draw. Sorry, I'm not being any help at all, am I? When I booked, Princess was substantially more expensive for my family of 5...but now that I see letsgo39's post, I might look again. I think either would be a great choice!

I have not cruised on NCL or MSC but of the lines I have been on Princess is by far my favorite. We were on the Ruby Princess for the British Isles in June and just fell in love with Princess. It is more upscale than NCL or Carnival and thankfully they don't nickel and dime you to death all day long. The service is as good as Celebrity but there is more going on every day then Celebrity. When I first booked it I thought it was very expensive but now with this great sale it is turning out to be a real bargain.:D

  12. Just curious-Princess allowed the mini tea kettle on board?

I thought electric appliances such as travel irons were not allowed because of the risk of a potential fire.

I did not think you were allowed electrical appliances either.

  13. We are booked on the Caribbean Princess 15 day North Cape and Norwegian Fjords departing Southampton on June 12, 2015.

We just had a big price drop in all categories. The balconies are all now priced at $2799 to $2899. There is also there annual 3 for free deal. This is a price cut for us of about $1700 PP. I had expected a drop but I could not hardly believe how much it turned out for our midship balcony. In addition with all the drops I will have OBC of $835.00 :D

  14. That's because the French need a convenient place to go where they can stoke up on their sense of superiority vis-a-vis American culture. Bless their hearts.

Well my goodness. Aren't you full of venom.

  15. I booked online last month for a June 2015 Alaska cruise and got a price drop alert email yesterday from the site I subscribe to. Called Celebrity this morning and they repriced my cruise saving me nearly $600 + an additional $50 OBC. To the OP, I think the TA response is inadequate. This is my first time on Celebrity and all my interactions with customer service have been positive. I'm not sure I'd ever be comfortable using a TA to book a cruise or transfer booking.

You do realize you are posting on the Princess thread I hope.:D Happy that you got a Celebrity sale though.
