Thank you Flyinby. We are also going in Feb, though Northbound only in a Jr Suite. Any specific Jr Suite you would recommend? Looks like there are some forward and some aft, and on both sides. Thanks!

Thank you everyone for the great info. Few questions for our Feb Northbound: What did folks do for trip insurance? First time cruiser so this is all new. What were your top 2 excursions? Did snowmobiles and dogsleds offer better chances of seeing Northern Lights? Does port side have a nice view of each town that you sail into? We are flying in from California-- not easy to get to/from Bergen and Kirkenes! Arriving 1 day early into Bergen, and thinking of staying 2 extra nights in Kirkenes in case the Northern Lights viewing doesn't go as planned. Any flight and pre/post tips welcome!

Would love to hear opinion from those who have traveled this cruise-- would you start in Bergen or London? We are coming from California if that factors into jetlag, staying up nights for late excursions, weather acclimation, less motion sickness at start etc etc. And I've read that Viking always docks on starboard side so port side rooms might have nicer views during that time, or did that not matter at all?
