  1. I just got off a 2 week cruise spent about $35 TO $100 a spin 3-5 hours a night on roulette ,did the same last Christmas and im prime with about $5000 points not sure if that sounds right.

You gave a lot of variables, but assuming $100 avg wager, 4 hrs a night for 14 nights.....1 pt = $5 avg wager for 10 mins.

    You would earn approx 20 pts/period times 6 periods/hr times 4 hrs/night times 14 nights = 6720 points

  2. To add more frustration to this rollout, i received an email today from Donna with casino operations. She states they used a 24 month look back, not the 18 months many of us were originally told and not the 12 months i was told when i originally questioned my point tally and Prime status.

For me, there was no significant difference between my 18 and 24 month total due to when i cruises. My original claim to RC was i thought i would be on the border between prime and signature, not at 13k points (mid prime). After their audit, 24,807 points, 193 points shy. And that’s with a cruise on Enchantment where i know they erred on my tracking.

  3. Thanks for the research. I agree that the accuracy of their table games on ratings is highly suspect. FYI, normally the odds bet in craps is not figured into any loyalty/comp calculation because there is no house advantage.

Knowing my losses from last year (that they gave me), and reverse engineering my Average bet into the ADT formula, my average bet times the amount of play would have been over 25,000 points (SIgnature) but they came up with 13,005 points (Prime)....way too big a disparity.

Maybe the calculations are slewed. Maybe the dealers aren't accurately inputting Average Bet numbers. Either way, loyal members are not being accurately rewarded

  4. I called the other day and was told that the 18 month range was for the soft rollout, however for the hard rollout they are only calculating 12 months April 1, 2017 - March 31, 2018.

I received a disappointing response to my inquiry today and they confirmed your statement....initial roll out looked back April 1, 2017 to March 31, 2018. Like others, I was told 18 months multiple times.....I am certain the decision to only look back 12 months was for the benefit of Club Royale/Royal Caribbean, not the members.

  5. My original post i was working from memory, as i was writing my email i went back to my cruise history and identified 7 cruises.

Again from memory, i cannot remember every cert, but the majority were ocean view, so i still used a hybrid average to indicate 7 certs earned is probably greater than 13k points total.

  6. You missed my point entirely.

    1) No confusion over MLIFE and Royal Caribbean. I was just saying that MGM properties will get my business if Royal Caribbean does not figure out a way to accurately reward play.

    2) I understand they said I had 13,000 points and that is Prime. That is my question. If I went on 7 cruises each being rewarded with a free cruise cert, which kicks in at 3K points each time....that would indicate a minimum of 21K points. (Point of disparity #1)

    3) From my annual Win/Loss statement, I can generate an average Daily Loss which can replace the Average Daily theoretical loss in the equation. I know I play a fairly traditional strategy craps game....therefore to lose what I did, it would equate to $45K a night ....and that would match the average roll bet as well. To put it in perspective. $45K a night through a slot machine at $5/point would mean 9000 points a night...and I cruised 27 nights. I concede that the $ value per point is not the same as slots....but that is a ridiculous disparity.

  7. Can someone clarify this for me......on utilizing previous certificates, the practice had been I had to book the cruise within 30 days of certificate award if I was selecting from the list of available cruises. However, if I was choosing to use the cash ($1000 or $750 value) I was not restrained by the 30 day restriction as long as I used it inside the calendar year.

I was on the phone with Club Royale yesterday, and she told me I had to use the $1000 certificate within 30 days of certificate reward.

    Thoughts?

I going through the same. I have 8 cruises booked between now and 3/31/2019. All of them already have certificates. I would save a couple of hundred extra if I used the free balcony certificate or the $1000 off the 12 night cruises, most of the certificates are for $500 off, and the price of the cruises have gone up. It's a better value to use it for a free cruise.
  8. Have them double check your points. There have been posts where mistakes had been made on tier levels and corrected.

So, I launched an email off to Club Royale today expressing my confusion over their calculations. Additionally, I had my 2017 RC Loss win/loss statement, so I was able to demonstrate to them that to achieve that loss theoretically (actually) over that many cruise days, with a nominal house advantage at craps of 1.5 %, playing 4 hours a night, at 60 rolls per hour....would require $195/roll (pretty close to true) and over $46,000 a night in play. Remembering I cruised close to a month (7 cruises - 27 days) of the 18 month reporting period....and they gave me 13,000 points....mid Prime. Any reduction in the number of rolls or hours/night only increases the $$/roll. 1.5% is a fairly conservative house advantage for craps. Something is wrong......

I'll let you know what they say....but MLIFE (Beau Rivage and Vegas) may be getting more of my action.

  9. Here's the ridiculous part....dad admits to becoming distracted, not watching his kid, and sues the cruiseline, that has the law on its side.

The decision to hire lifeguards is an insurance policy and cost vs benefit, probably a cheaper alternative fleet-wide than paying someone a multimillion dollar payout for their own negligience.

Now can we get them to hire someone to fix this chair-hog issue......because lifeguards don't do that.

  10. I called today and received word that I was Choice. Somewhat disappointed since over the 18 month reporting period, i took 6 cruises and my play earned free balconies on 5 of those 6. If free cruise cert kicks in at 4800 points, and i earned 5 of them, not sure how i got only 13,000 points toward determining my new status

  11. Does anyone have a list of on cruise benefits for each of the M Life levels? I can't find a list of these anywhere. Are there any perks for members below the gold level? Thank you!

I have experienced the same issue..i am with Casino Royale and MLife (both earned status, not reciprocal). I also thought the OBC was a benefit of status, regardless of how u booked with RC. It is a promotion offer to get MLife gamblers to start cruising. I am loyal to both brands and don’t get the benefits of a new customer. Sad.

  12. In my opinion, booking that close to the cruise and the cruise being during the peak of summer, if you are in a oceanview balcony for 150.00 per night per person or less before taxes and fees, you havent really overpaid. I agree that its kinda hard to say without knowing what ship and a close estimate of how much you paid.

Some people can find oceanview balcony cabins on the newer ships for less than 100.00 per person per night. I have never been that lucky.

I think your approach is right on. Personally, i target $100 pp/pd and see how much cruise i can get. Normally with Club Royale discounts, i can get a 2 people in a Junior Suite on a 7 day cruise for ~$1500. Compared to other vacations, cruising is still an economical smart choice.

  13. For anyone be else in a similar situation, i bet t the bullet and called C&A today. Previous members on this site said that’s how they were credited with the OBC.

C&A rep had no idea and immediately transferred me to Club Royale. Agent was very helpful, unfortunately since i booked at a casino rate i was unable to combine with any other offers (including the MLife OBC).

So, it appears for those with dual status the OBC is only available on the annual MLIFE 3-5 day cruise reward since the casino rate is still the best perk going.

  14. Was hoping i could get some info rmation. I am an RCCL Diamond Plus but also an MLife Platinum player. Earned platinum, not reciprocal.

I believe i may have received OBC before on an annual MLife reward cruise. As i have read on this board, am i eligible for this OBC on every RCCL Cruise i take? If so, is that still the case if my cruise was booked via Club Royale at a casino rate?

  15. We finally had enough, carried our own bags off the bus. Nobody tipped Penny and the porters told us they had been having troubles with her (she telling patrons not to tip the pier porters because they don’t do anything)for a while, that’s why they won’t service her bus. Gladly tipped the porters.

Upon return, told management. No action. No return business.

  16. I had one horrible Park n Cruise experience and I wont go back. On extremely unpleasant driver (Penny) gave us the speech that she works harder than the porters on the pier and she deserved our tip money more than they did. As a result, the porters wouldnt service her (our) bus. So we were all stranded on board, with our luggage because she wouldnt let us remove it and the porters wouldnt come near the bus. No way to start a vacation Penny!!

Sign me up for Port Canaveral Cruise Parking on A1A or the more expensive pier parking any time.

  17. In my email to Mr Bayley I tried to point out that the Casino players are among the most loyal. I have averaged 5 cruises/~24 days at sea per year for 3 years. Additionally, I come with stake of $1000/day. If a customer had a drink package, an expensive excursion and a high value spa visit every day, I might spend $450/day. So, losing my potential business comes at a $$ cost to him.

Similarly, cruising for me is convenient. I am a craps player and the odds aren't the best and they have low table limits. The drinks aren't free, they are deducted from any casino reward I may earn. I always upgrade to a suite from whatever offer I have at an out of pocket cost. If I chose to use that money for airfare to Vegas, I would be comped a room, get a ~$500 food/bev credit, get truly free drinks and have more dining/entertainment options than he can provide.

Their short sighted decisions are going to drive a lot of us to find another gambling/entertainment option and Royal Caribbean is going to have to raise prices of other services to their non gambling guests to maintain their revenue.
