  1. That's too bad. 😞 Of course it was a short cruise, but we moved about a lot and I only stepped out on our balcony for a second one time! haha Maybe will consider ocean view cabin next time because we didn't use the balcony.
  2. Yeah need to look at other options just thought I'd ask about the cruising industry, 100% capacity and crowding experiences. Thanks!
  3. I hear you - not getting distracted with that tangent. I took the comment with a grain of salt. Thanks!
  4. Thanks! It's been decades (80's and 90's) since we have cruised. Reentered starting with short cruises last fall since moving to FL and early retirement. Scared of longer cruises and just more crowds every day. haha It's all good!
  5. Would love the suite option that would help! We've been choosing balcony for value.
  6. I feel like I'm pretty savvy and intuitive about these kinds of decisions and strategies, but the smaller ships on short cruises just have been 100% capacity. It is what it is. All good. Just thought I'd ask about crowds on certain ships small or large at 100% nowadays.
  7. I feel like we have gone off season mostly because lower prices and we're retired and live in Florida. Thanks!
  8. The cruise was definitely 100% capacity May 12-17 we know that no matter the mix of ages which seemed 25-75 evenly. We did have our own kind of itinerary that we were trying to keep with Key West and Coco Cay figuring breakfast and lunch. Didn't want hamburgers and just wanted to eat quickly and carry on.
  9. We tried everything for lunch at oceanview cafe and finding a table was crazy. It was just a 4 night cruise mid May 2024.
  10. Good information thanks! I was just concerned that larger ships with 100% capacity would feel crazy crowded even with the larger spaces. I was looking at the Icon of the Seas and there's reports that the pool and lounger area has been downsized on the ship. Yikes
  11. Curious about this overbooking - the people not being able to board... are they the passengers that have book guaranteed instead of a specific cabin? I wouldn't think it's likely that they'd book 2 reservations for one cabin number.
  12. That's okay! I figured there wouldn't be any solution. LOL Well, we can vacation other ways besides cruising. Thought I'd try and ask anyway. I appreciate your responding!
  13. We just returned from the Summit last fall and Reflection this spring. We really don't want to return for another cruise with the crowds we've found when trying to find a table for meals and for trying to find a lounger anywhere. Are there any Celebrity or RCCL ships that are best for feeling less crowded? I think cruising is back to 100% which is great for cruiselines but not so much for vacationing on one. Thanks!
  14. Thank you nhraformula00! I just booked DoubleTree 25 min out in Plantation FL area. The bad reviews scared me too much. lol We have our vehicle, are driving in from northern Florida, and will park at the port during our cruise.
  15. OMG I’m researching hotels for Port Everglades, and they all sound terrible. Some good reviews, but the bad reviews are bad. I’m inclined to stay 2 hours away. Ugh
