Yes, good pick-up. I've no experience with cabins more on the forward side obviously but you do get some vibrations which are likely more pronounced at the rear. My bathroom door vibrated a bit at times (which I probably could have stopped by wedging something in the jam, or more sensibly by bringing it to the attention of staff) - really didn't bother me overly. Outside of that, the clicking you heard was (I think) caused when I manually adjusted the room aircon vent in the roof to max open because I felt the flow of air wasn;t enough. Again, didn't bother me overly. However, I'm sure the staff would have been happy to assist, if it had botherd me.

With the cruise coming to end tonight I just wanted to post my final thoughts, This cruise has been an absolute blast. I'm lucky enough to travel often. Just this year for context I've been to: - Vietnam/Cambodia - Domestically 2 times to Hervey Bay, Queensland and also took The Ghan (train) up the middle of Australia - Adelaide to Darwin. - Bali - Fiji cruise to the remote islands both North and South x 2 - and tomorrow I fly 2 hours West to spend 1.5 weeks in the Cook Islands on my way home to Australia (I've been before and it is lovely). This trip abourd the Paul Guaguin has been a real highlight. I've made many lovely friends and the staff have been wonderful - all of them. I will definately consider another trip if I can get a reasonable deal as a solo traveller - perhaps one of the longer itineraries next time (the ship travels to Fiji tomorrow, for example). The next time I will not need to spend the extra on a balcony cabin. It was very nice to have it this time around but, having done this once, I would be happy with a porthole or window cabin. A big thanks again to those that contribute here to allow me to prepare and thanks to those that have followed this journey. Andy

Skipped a few days, so many things to do and so little time..Here's a short vid of the jetski tour circling Bora Bora. The colours are beautiful and we happened on a pod of dolphins as part of the trip.

We are on Day 3 today of the 7 night itinerary - Taha'a, which meant your choice of morning acitvity (in my case I chose the coral garden drift snorkeling - you'll see a common theme here with this - I'm all about the water activities, haha) - and then everyone meets up on the stunning PG private island/motu for a splendid BBQ lunch and cocktails, beers or whatever else you want. I'll have some footage out about this soon but can say the day has been fantastic. In the meantime I've posted a link below (hoping this is allowed/works) to youtube video covering my snorkelling excursion yesterday, day 2 at Huahine. The water clarity was amazing - as was the case today as well. I must say that I've been blown away so far with this cruise (but bear in mind my relative lack of cruising experience). I have found the food to be great with a large variety available, and same with the crew. You are almost tripping over them as they go out of their way to ensure you are taken care of. I have found them all to be funny, kind and patient thus far. The wifi appears to work all ok and has allowed me to upload videos, for example. My impression is that roughly half the folks on board are from the USA and similar number of French, with a smattering of Aussies, Kiwi's, UK and others. After the recent couple of Fiji cruises I did which contained mostly Aussies it has been refreshing and interesting to chat with folks from elsewhere. I've seen some here comment on the 'stability' of the ship, getting seasick etc. Everyone's mileage will vary with this one and will depend on the local conditions as well but for me there has been no issue to date.

We have barely left port at Papeete and I can already tell this will be a special cruise. I am a first timer and my cruising experience is limited, although just this year I've done a Vietnam/Cambodia Mekong river cruise in March, and then September and October 2 x Fiji Islands cruises awith Captain Cook cruises aboard the smaller ship ' Caledonian Sky'. I am flying solo, as per most of my trips and snagged a balcony cabin on level 7 (763) located at one side, aft. I believe I paid a 25% single supplement which doesn't neccesarily make it cheap, but tolerable. I am an Aussie, so this trip meant a flight from Melbourne to NZ and then another to Papeete, heading East all the way. In the process time moved back a whopping 21 hours... I just tell my friends online to think of me as 3 hours ahead, forget about which day it is, haha. If any are interested in the experience or more information I am happy to post pics and my experiences. And a thank you to all that post here - thanks to you I had an inkling of what to expect. (sipping a vodka martini before leaving Papeete).

Thank you for the view. I've got my first PG trip coming up in October as a solo traveller, located in C - 763 - so one of those 5 aft cabins you mentioned (but off to one side). I'm not an experienced cruiser so will be looking at this with fresh eyes so-to-speak. Appreciate you publishing the feedback, and response.

Thank you all for the suggestions on further info.

Hello folks, I'm Andy from Australia. Appreciate all of the advice I've seen here - I've learned alot so far reading through. I have not cruised before at all, with any line, so this will be my first.. It might spoil me, haha (although I have visited Fiji and The Cook Isl a bunch of times). I am a solo traveller and I managed to get an aft facing CS balcony on seven for my 7 night cruise on PG in October this year. I love photography, so went for the balcony this time..despite the expense. Really looking forward to it.
