I cannot understand how HA is continuing with this portion of the landcruse when the park is closed. Guest Services on this ship (NA) continue to say business as usual. Somewhere, something is not right and I fear I will be caught in the middle.
As of this writing, Ship Management is saying the Denali land tour portion of our cruise is still a go. HOWEVER the park is still closed. I need to understand Holland America's plans for us before I commit blindly to continuing with the land portion. I wish they were clear. Any ideas/thoughts?
I cruise today. Our original boarding time was 10am. Now it just changed to 12 noon. Will they turn us away if we arrive early? Does boarding time meant the time we step foot on the ship or start the process at Canada Place?
I HAVE checked the weather myself before asking here :), but still not certain.
I'm traveling next week, on Sunday June 30th.
Should I leave my shorts at home? Long sleeve shirts everyday?
Nothing like asking people 'on the ground' for an accurate weather report. THX
Hi, first time cruisers here:
We are booked on Nieuw Amsterdam in two weeks to Alaska. We have a few questions:
How dressy is it at night? I have reservations at two nice restaurants. Do I need to wear a jacket? Is business casual ok?
Tips?;
What do you wish you knew before you went on the cruise?
Is there something we should handle early, like as soon as we're aboard?
What didn't you pack that you wished you had?
THX!
Newbie here,
We're on an Alaskan cruise in late June. Currently have a reserved inside cabin. Please provide any tips or strategy to get a paid or not cabin upgrade. Do I call them, do we get an email,...? Thanks for your suggestions.
Hello,
I'm on Nieuw Amsterdam tour# D6C. This shows 1.5 days in Denali and 2 days in Anchorage. But that's it-- very little detail. I wonder if someone can please describe to me what these four days entail. HA has not been helpful on the phone. I'm wondering when we leave the ship, when we get to Denali, when we leave Denali etc. Are any activities included or are we on our own? This is our first time in Denali or Anchorage so any suggested activities are appreciated. Thanks in advance.
