Cool Cruiser (2/20)

  1. Hello everyone, Firstly, thanks for reading as this post will be somewhat long. Other accessibility related questions found good answers here so I hope mine will too. I emailed this to Cunard itself too, three weeks ago but so far did not yet receive answers, though I did receive a very kind mail from customer support saying they would forward it to the Accessibility department. I did some more research since then so I dont need to bore you all with the entire email. I am looking forward to booking a Transatlantic Crossing on QM2. I have a preference for Autumn, and I prefer cruising from Hamburg, but Southampton and Le Havre are an option too. I have a number of health conditions that mean I would need a cabin away from the smokers areas laundry corners, and the exhaust from the ship. I have read that forward cabins are better than aft cabins when it comes to the exhaust. Two cruisers have written the laundry products provided by Cunard dont have strong odor, which was a relief to read, still I am curious to read more here. Also curious to know which parts of the ship are closest to the engine and possible vibrations? I can handle motion fine but due to previous brain infarct vibration causes pain and issues holding my body steady. Temporarily it would not be a problem but would not want a cabin or a dinner table much affected by mechanical vibrations. I dont travel with a wheelchair so would not need wheelchair accessible room. With all this in mind, which cabins would you suggest with these accessibility requirements? Which should I avoid? Based on my own research deck thirteen, deck five, possibly deck four, seem to have most suitable cabins. I have read good things on this forum about the Sheltered Balconies, so I would like a room like that, or an Oceanview. Because of deck thirteen I have also looked at Britannia Club Balconies, but in October they seem to be sold out. If this cruise goes well, I would love to visit South America on Queen Victoria, so again the question of which cabins would be most suitable Regarding payment, is it possible to pay by direct bank transfer Paypal, or some other way? I do not have a credit card. My mother and partner do have a credit card, though I can imagine it is a little weird if they pay it, or is that acceptable for cruise companies? I would prefer to just take the funds from my bank account and put it in their bank account, but maybe that is not the way cruise companies do things. The Cunard UK site keeps glitching out for me so I am not sure how to book online? I could book by phone if that is the best way but would heavily prefer online. The French Cunard site gives a bit more info, but as a solo traveler it seems I cant finalize my booking online and need to contact Cunard, which I did, but am still waiting to hear from. Maybe if my questions are answered here, I can just pick up the phone to book. Thanks again for reading, so looking forward to see the replies
