I’m finding this interesting in terms of qualifying for a free cruise. My hubby and I are on our first VV cruise soon, previously cruised NCL a few times. He plays some blackjack and I play roulette, we don’t normally bother with slots. Does roulette playing count towards a comped cruise? And is it best to try and play at a table with the same casino host each time so they get familiar with you? I had thought it would require higher gambling levels to be comped a cruise, maybe $10k plus as a minimum.

Want you were told on the call seems to match what I was told. It’s a daft way to price upgrades, as there is virtually no chance of selling one, whereas pricing close to what customers are seeing when they look at the cruise pricing for themselves would result in upgrade sales and income. There is still loads of availability across sea terrace cabins for my cruise so I’ll just hope for a successful bid.

I have booked a sea view cabin for a Mediterranean cruise next month with $600 bar tab included. When I booked the sea terrace was about £500 ($625) more expensive. I’ve been keeping an eye on this cruise pricing and availability, and there seems to be plenty of availability left, cabins in all categories come up when I check. The sea terrace is now about £300 more than the sea view, and about £300 more than when I booked. I have also (some weeks ago) put in a bid to upgrade of £150 for limited view and £180 for central sea terrace - the bid slider had a max of £200 - so chances seems good there, but I would be happy to pay a bit more to be sure. So I called to see about an upgrade expecting to be quoted about £300 which I would have happily paid. The quote (wait for it….) was £1450!!!! Thankfully I was sitting down at the time. When I queried the pricing I got a string of waffle which made absolutely no sense whatever and was obviously being read from a script with no concept as to the meaning so I simply confirmed that I was making no change to my booking and ended the call. Has anyone had a similar experience? Is it possible this was a rogue quote and I should call again? Anyone care to hazard a guess as to VV pricing strategy? Thank you 😊

Spa treatments can only be booked once onboard according to the VV app, just checked for our cruise next month 🙂

Just received notification that Marseilles has been dropped from our itinerary, same excuse as Toulon - feedback was that sailors wanted more time at sea. I find this very strange, particularly as the cruises haven’t even begun yet, so how can they have had feedback. Could it be more to so with a spat with the local authorities in that area, Marseilles and Toulon are only about 20 miles apart? Bit disappointed but I’ve cruised the Med before so not overly bothered, I feel for those coming from farther afield who were hoping for a real taste of Mediterranean cities and culture.

Does anyone know the cost for the Blend the Rules and other cocktail making/tasting events? Thank you kindly 😊
