We are on the Symphony of the Seas April 6 and reservations for shows just opened yesterday. The app didnt show them but my laptop did. Look under entertainment! We were able to book all 5 shows.

Does anyone know if the outside of the doors of the cabins on SOS are metal? I want to put a magnet on the outside and wondering if it will stick. I know some doors on some cruise ships are painted and might hinder the magnetic hold. Thanks

When I booked recently there was a 10% tax and 18% gratuity added to the advertised price. So the advertised price of $64.99 per day ended up at $83.19 per day.
Just when you think they are giving you a discount you end up with a surprise additional cost!! Thanks.

So is they price they show on the web site for the alcohol package include the tax and gratuity or do you have to add that to the price shown?

We just got off of the Sky. Both rib eye selections were delicious! Manfredi's was our favorite meal of the whole cruise. I highly recommend it. And the service was phenomenal!! We made reservations once we were on the ship.

We stayed at the Yotel basically across the street from the marketplace. It was clean, reasonable and very close to the cruise terminal. We liked the Intercontinental too but that was $$$$.

We stayed at the Yotel in downtown Miami. Basic but clean and very reasonable. It was across from the Bayside Marketplace with tons of restaurants, shops and things to do, very close to the terminal too. I would stay there again for sure.

We were on the Escape last week and bought the weeks pass for the Thermal Spa. ($299 a person for the week) It was the highlight of our trip. It was amazing and perfect if you wanted to relax and get away from the crowds. The therapy pool was unbelievable. Just a heads up.....Ours sold out fast and I went online at 12:01am 120 days out and bought it. Later that day it was sold out. They limit the amount of passes they sell, ours was limited to 120. We didn't do the Vibe Pass but wish we did. The pool and pool decks were so crazy packed and we couldn't find empty seats the couple of times we looked. That was disappointing for sure. The thermal spa made up for it though!!

We leave this Sunday on the Escape and also booked the excursion to Jost Van Dyke. I dont know what I was thinking but it certainly wasnt getting up that early LOL. What do you recommend bringing over there or dont we need to bring anything? Was there anything else to do along with having a few Painkillers? Thanks.

DO you have to complete everything to get a check in time, or can you go back and finish at a later, Also can you book entertainment at the same time?
-
Did you have to make reservations for the shows and if so which ones? And did you make them once you boarded? Also if you didnt make reservations could you still get in? Thanks, this is out fist time on the bigger ships and we havent figured it out yet! LOL

Are there requirements for the pic other than no glasses, like a certain color background etc? Thanks

Thanks for the great review. Can I ask what you did about spending cash at each port? Did you do a currency exchange at each port. I know we can use a credit card but to buy small purchases what did you do?

Thanks for the input, after reading the reviews of the 8th deck aft balcony rooms over the Spinnaker we changed ours. I figured spending all that money and then having to deal with the noise at night would take away from our experience. We now have a port side balcony and the money saved will pay for our airfare with some leftover for excursions! Now I can look forward to the cruise and not worry if I made the wrong decision! Thanks for the advice!

We only needed one card since both people in room had the UBP.

My husband and I just finished an Alaskan cruise on the Sun a couple of weeks ago. We loved it. We had an aft balcony which is I think is a little smaller than regular balcony rooms but it was plenty big for us with more than enough storage. The furnishings were fine and didn't show any wear. The bathrooms are small as on other ships but we didn't have any problems with the space. My husband is 6'3'' and was fine with the round shower although it was small. The only place I found that could have used a little update was the Stardust Lounge where the seats show some wear. I wouldn't hesitate to book a cruise on the Sun. We found all areas very clean, the food was really good and we didn't use any of the "pay" restaurants because we are very happy with what was included. We also found the entertainment very good and we had a great time. The staff was awesome, very friendly and personable. We had other friends on the same cruise with both inside rooms and window view rooms and they were very pleased with their rooms too. I would book a cruise on the Sun again without question!

When ours opened up for sailing April 6 it was supposed to be at midnight but it was actually about 10 after and the app opened before the web site. If you check in on the app you dont have to enter all the other info to get your check in times but if you choose the web site (like I did) I had to enter passport info and upload pics etc before it would let me go to the next page to choose times.
