For those of you that booked an aft balcony on deck 8 for the Panama Canal cruise. Was the noise really that bad? I also heard it is an older crowd on that cruise and thought it might not be as bad. We booked the only aft balcony left on Deck 8 and wondering if we should keep it or change to a port or starboard balcony. We love the aft! Thoughts?

This was a question in one of the informative sessions on board. The water is sea water that is heated and circulated. We just got back from Alaska and there were people in the pool daily even though the outdoor temps were in the 50's.

Just got back, we did not have to get luggage to go through customs. It was sent directly to our destination of Vancouver!

we just got back from our cruise and also a stay at the Pinnacle Harborfront Hotel. We are extremely happy with this hotel and would definitely stay there again next time we go. It was super clean, very comfortable, great location near waterfront and cruise terminal. No complaints at all plus it was very reasonable though AAA.

Yes, looks like we will be neighbors! My sister and her husband are 2 doors down, also an aft cabin. We are with a group of friends that have aft cabins too but on different decks! Counting the hours now! I'm sure we will meet in passing! Safe travels!

We are staying here in August for 2 days before our cruise. We got a great deal through AAA and I thought it looked really good. I doubt we will spend that much time in the room anyway but I can let you know once I'm back.

I was wondering the same thing for my Alaskan cruise and asked on the NCL web site I tried to post the chat I had but it would not let me paste it. I told them I paid the have the adult beverage package promo and paid the 18% gratuity and service charge up front and asked if I would have to pay a tax if I ordered drinks in ports like Juneau and Skagway and she said I don't have to pay an additional tax . I have read contrary statements on here so I don't really know what to expect

We have researched the same thing and also going in August. We ended up booking the Pinncale Hotel Vancouver on West Hastings St through AAA because we didn't want to spend a lot. The reviews seemed pretty good and it's within walking distance of the pier.

We will be flying from CT to Vancouver with a connection in Toronto through Air Canada. Does anyone know if we will have to get our luggage in Toronto to go through customs or do we pick it up in Toronto. Also how much time as far as layover should we give ourselves in Toronto to pass through Passport Control? Thanks

We are taking the NCL Sun from Vancouver to Seward with a stop in Ketchikan. There are 3 bear viewing tours listed. One had poor reviews and the other two looked comparable. Is there any feedback and which would be the better one? One goes to Neets Bay via floatplane and the other just says float plane to meet guide at a trail head and then a viewing platform to a spawning stream where the bears catch the fish. Does anyone have any experiences with these two tours offered through NCL? There is a $30 difference and the time is 3 - 3 1/4 hours. We are going mid August 2017 (I like to plan ahead LOL) Thanks

I am a "Sun" lover and I haven't even been on that ship yet. I have done other NCL cruises a while back and loved them. Thats why I chose NCL this time around. I had a choice!!! I have an AFT balcony and would never consider changing it. I'm so looking forward to it and we (all 15 of us) are going to have an amazing time. Thanks so much for starting this thread! It's so much better surrounding ourselves with positive thoughts.

For what it's worth.....I asked a customer service rep (the one that the chat box pops up when you go on the NCL site.) I told her I got the UBP when I booked my cruise and I paid the 18% gratuity and service tax on it. I asked if there were additional taxes when we are in a port and she said no. I saved the screen shot of what she said but I don't know how to attach it. I hope that means no additional charges and I can drink in port without paying anything else.

I was getting a little nervous reading all thee posts about the sewage smell and decided to google it to see what else I could find. It seems that this is a very common issue on a lot of the cruise lines and not just the Sun. I am keeping my aft facing balcony for next year and am going to enjoy every minute of it! For as many not so good posts about this there are even more positive comments on other threads. Nothing is perfect and who is to say it would be better on another ship! Just my thoughts! :-)
