Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. @NavyVeteran I am located in US. Thank you ALL for your input and information. I went ahead and secured what I can afford, an OceanView. And I will reprice, and/or cancel and upgrade for a balcony if/when specials come around and prices drop. - How much does one have to bid for an upgrade to a balcony? Any pointers regarding the bidding process on cruises?
  2. Hello all, Forgive me to ask this, but I am somewhat new-ish to cruising. I am looking at making a reservation for a South America Antarctica cruise for the 25/26 season. I am aware that is still a good bit away. I have a budget that I would like to stay in, and with that budget it would get a Ocean View Room. However, what I ultimatley hope for is to get a balcony room, however, that is like $2k more than my budget. This is where repricing comes in. I am new to this, so forgive me if this has been talked into the ground before. What route do I go, make the reservation for Oceanview room that is within my budget. Watch the cruise over this coming year plus and if a balcony room drops in price into my budget range, then cancel the oceanview room and book the balcony room. or Do I reserve now the balcony room, which is $2k more, and keeping my fingers crossed that the price will drop enough between now and when final payment is due that the price will come down into my budget. The Cruise consultant said that I can always downgrade to a oceanview if needed as balconies will sell out before ocean views. Help me out, what is the best way for setting myself up for success with this reservation? Thank you for your input!
  3. That is what my gut feeling tells me.
  4. Hey all, I am new here, so forgive me if this has been already talked about. I am looking at a Antarctica cruise for 2026, I am fine with a drive-by cruise only, but really would like to go all they way, as in going to Paradise Bay (seeing the actual continent) and not just swinging by Admiralty Bay and Elephant Island. Yes, I fully understand that there can be factors where routes need to be changed/altered such as weather etc. for safety reason. NCL advertises on their web page the route that goes to Paradise bay, swing by Elephant Island and then head back north. But digging a bit more on their page, I found that all 24/25 sailings list Paradise Bay, but all sailings for 25/26 only list Admiralty Bay and Elephant Island. The friendly cruise consultant insisted that it is the same, and they all will go to Paradise Bay etc etc. But looking at a map, it is roughly 250ish miles apart. Also, when I received a quote, the title of the cruise left the word Antarctica out. - I asked the consultant and I was told this is just marketing. Anyone have more info on this regarding 25/26 NCL Antarctica cruises only going to Admiralty Bay and Elephant Island and NOT going to Paradise Bay? Or is this a glitch in the system and not properly updated since it is so far out. Thanks for your input.
