  1. Thank you, very helpful. I will carry my passport with me then. Do you happen to know if Greece mandates booster seats in private tours (car services)?
  2. Fair, I now wish I had applied for passport card at least, maybe I could find out if that is a valid form of ID but for now, passport it is.
  3. Let me ask you this, does a color copy of the passports suffice?
  4. My daughter is nine and we will be visiting Athens (Viator private tour), Santorini (a tour offered by Royal Caribbean cruise) and Mykonos (walking). Do we need to bring a booster seat for her? Not sure if the bus tour offered by RC offers a booster seat. I also had another question, do you usually carry your passport with you while on the excursion, visiting these Greek port of calls? Or bringing a copy of it suffice? Thank you
  5. Very valuable info, thank you so much. Now I have to find out the same thing for Greece as we will be taking a couple of tours there. Will post there. Thanks much
  6. My daughter is nine and looks like we need to have her in the booster seat while visiting Italy and Greece. We signed up for a tour with Royal Caribbean cruise and a couple with Viator and other companies. Not sure if the bus tour offered by RC offers us a booster seat. Do I have to pack a booster seat and bring it with me? (She doesn't need one in the US). I also had another question, do you usually carry your passport with you while on the excursion, visiting Milan, visiting Rome or bring a copy of it? Thank you
  7. Very valuable tips, thanks much. It makes sense. I guess we will just try to pack in travel size bags so we can keep it close to us (or above us) 🙂
  8. Hank, thank you so much for your great reply. I really appreciate it. Especially the link to the lock, I was about to ask if you happen to have a link as I was reading your comment. So if we take travel size luggage hopefully we can put it above us, thag is good to know. But if we leave the luggage at the end of the train, will we be able to see it from where we are sitting? Also, which one of those locks did you get?
  9. The one scheduled for 10:20 does let me pick my seats though but that is over 7 hours
  10. I went on Trenitalia website and picked the closest time to 9 AM, attaching a screenshot for your review, the first train from Civi to Roma termini does not allow selected seats. Then I filtered the results for Frecce and did not get any result for Oct 10. What I am doing wrong?
  11. Thanks much, If we get tickets on a train with assigned seats, where would be keeping our luggage? I have already purchased my tickets from Rome termini to Civi porto (train+bus) and selected my seats on the train 🙂
  12. Thank you SO MUCH for your great and very helpful reply. I am very excited and since we have not been on a cruise before, I am kind of nervous too! I am done with the planning and have everything done except for the transfer from Civi port to Milan. I could easily purchase my bucs and two train tickets but was thinking my kid might be more comfortable if we get a shared transfer from the Civi port to Roma termini then take the train to Milan (vs. getting on the bus from the port to Civi, then taking the train from Civi to Roma tremini). That is the portion of my trip I have not figure out yet!
  13. Our cruise will arrive at Civitavecchia port and we would like to immediately go to Milan. I have a kid with me and we will probably have two pieces of luggage. Will it be wise/easy/efficient to book the bus and train ticket combo from Civitavecchia Porto to Milan which requires us to get on and off the bus and the first train then get to the second train in Rome, or you would suggest we take a shared/private transfer to Roma termini and just buy the ticket to Milan when we arrive? Thank you
  14. Once again, thank you for your great suggestions. We will see which ones I end up selecting. for now, I am open to more ideas.
  15. Thank you so much, these are all great suggestions. I know how much I wanted to visit Positano and other places in Amalfi coast, but as we get closer to the date, I feel less interested due to the long car ride and not being able to actually spend a good couple of days there
  16. I have booked the Rome in a limo private tour and posted a link on the roll call to see if more people are interested in joining. We will be visiting Amalfi Coast, Positano, Amalfi & Ravello. Since I still have time to cancel it, I thought I ask the question here. Is seeing all these beautiful places in a day really worth the traffic, drive around, etc? What places closer to the cruise port would you recommend for that day excursion? We have been to Pompeii already, was hoping to get some advice for a kind of on your own close by activities. Thank you
  17. My daughtr and I will be sailing on Odyssey of the Seas and we selected the interior room (pick it for me option since it was cheaper). We would like to have two separate beds but every time I send them an email, they respond saying it is not guaranteed. Worse comes to worse, if they assign one bed to both of us instead of two twin beds, does a typical interior state room have a sofa bed we could use for my daughter? Thank you
  18. Thank you for your great comment, very helpful. I tried posting about it on my roll call, but no one was interested in joining. I really would love to visit Positano, that has been on my bucket list for so long. Was your drive so long too? Did you get car sick or regret it because of the long drive? Was it worth it in your opinion?
  19. Just looked it up and looks like RC offers the same service: " For safety concerns self-service laundry facilities are not provided onboard our ships, but we do offer washing, pressing and dry cleaning services. We do not provide irons in the staterooms as they constitute a fire hazard. We also run wash and fold specials during the voyage. This is an additional service offered beyond our regular laundry service. Guests can now send smaller clothing items to be washed and folded for the fixed amount of $34.99 per bag. Fit as much as you can into the bag provided for you and we'll take care of the rest. Please ask your stateroom attendant for more information. Availability may vary. * All prices are in US. Dollars and are subject to change without notice."
