  1. We are in a Aqua Sky Suite but don't really like the Luminae menu based on what is on the app. We are thinking of just going to one of the four main dining restaurants each night or Blu. Which one of the of the main restaurants would be best to go to?
  2. I live in Las Vegas and see the outrages prices people pay for things and post their receipts online as a badge of honor. I personally feel the regular Celebrity Cruise prices are high but not crazy. Their other items such as drinks, shore excursions, gratuutes, and of course specialty restaurants are quite high in my opinion. I try not spend extra on the cruise besides gratuities.
  3. There must be a lot non price sensitive people will to pay for the tours.
  4. I can't blame them for eliminating the free one when people are willing to pay big dollars. I would like to take a tour but not at over $100.
  5. I appreciate all of the comments and pointers to make the most of the sundeck.
  6. Does Celebrity offer a quick basic tour of the galley or something for free, or is everything pay now? I have not cruised Celebrity for years, but though there was a basic free tour available.
  7. I'm late to this conversation but find it interesting. I respect all of the opinions presented. I'm surprised the reserved seats in the theater is such a polarizing issue. I'm much more bothered by all of the expensive specialty restaurants and the perceived diminished quality and offering of the included food.
  8. It is great they open up the reserved seating for everyone before the show starts.
  9. We largely booked an Aqua Sky Suite over a regular aqua class for the reserved theater seating option on chic nights and the retreat lounge. We sometimes book the most basic accommodations and other imes the other end of the spectrum. I never mind people getting perks I don't, but understand not everyone feels the same way.
  10. I've heard all of the Edge class ships after the original one have much more shade than the original.
  11. Thanks for the information. We hope to see the early show most nights and may not be able to get there too early. We might eat at Blu most nights since being on an Aqua suite and not caring much for the suites specialty restaurant menu for most nights. Blu is closer to the theater.
  12. I checked the website last week and it only said chic nights. They could be doing something on the ships.
  13. I'm on the other side of the fence and would to see seats reserved for suites every night. I do not think celebrity will make the change though as it could upset a lot of people.
  14. I wasn't sure of the solarium got a lot of use or not. My plan is to walk the ship the first day and jot down preferred locations and go to each of the in order of preference after breakfast and see if anything is open. I'll adjust the second day and skip breakfast if everything is taken.
  15. I'm hoping to find some shaded area within a deck of the retreat area. Maybe there will be some secluded areas everyone won't go to. We plan on getting a spot after breakfast, about 10:00 and will stay for a few hours.
  16. I was wondering the same thing. The website states only chic nights for suites. We have a Aqua Sky Suite and are thinking of adding the Priority Access Pass for access to reserved seats every night. Maybe they will change the seating policy for suites as they recently did for the mini bar. I think the Priority Access Pass is a pretty good deal get get a lot of suite perks for very little money. Especially if you do not need drinks or you get an inexpensive move up offer.
  17. We are excited to try the retreat. Our TA said to expect it to be super crowded since there are over 300 suite people. She said Celebrity may sail with open cabins but the retreat is always full with people they select people to move up to keep those cabins full.
  18. We are new to Celebrity and are going to be in a Sky Aqua suite for a round trip cruise from Sydney. The cruise has a lot of sea days and we would like to lounge in the shade. The retreat sun deck looks nice but does not appear to have much shade compared to the newer Edge class ships. Is it feasible to get a shaded spot the a deck or two below and hop to the Retreat for a drink or something? We can forgo the retreat during the day if necessary as shade is the top priority. I'm also considering the solarium as it looks to offer a lot of shade and may not be too crowded. We are open to any pointers. I'm guessing we will lounge from 8 am until 1 pm and then hangout inside somewhere after a quick nap.
  19. Thank you for the h e insight and mentioning the balcony difference.
  20. My wife and I are looking at a 11 day cruise from Sydney. We are considering an Aqua Sky Suite, but are thinking of just getting an Aqua Class and adding the Premium Access Pass and getting drinks as we go. The premium access pass seems like a great deal and includes the things we want. Especially saved theater seating, and it is better than the suites perk because that one is only on chic nights. The internet package seems good, and the value is great for the price. Does each person have to purchase the Premium Access or does one cover the cabin? We reviewed the menus and seem to like the offerings on Blu more than Luminae. We would like a bigger room and may enjoy the Retreat but have heard the one on the Edge is not very good and the sun deck does not offer much shade like the newer ships do. Another option we are considering is to book an Acqua Class and try for a Sky Acqua class on the move up program. We are open to any input or suggestions anyone has. The cruise has a lot of sea days if that makes a difference. On a side note, I'm surprised Celebrity offers the Premium Access package as it seems to cannibalize from the sky suites. We would have never considered Acqua Class instead of a Sky Acqua Class if it was not from the Premium Access package being such an amazing deal.
