  1. On Allure in April I actually got off for the first time in 5 or 6 cruises. Been to Nassau way too many times. Got off in Falmouth and went to a "rustic" local bbq place. Had jerk chicken. Went to Margaritaville (not my call) and had a couple foo foo drinks that probably had little or no booze in them. I am not a beach person. I prefer poolside with a rum runner. :D With the current push on booze packages I find hanging at the pool is very relaxing and the burgers are right there. :D Put me down for the 10 night to nowhere voyage. Five cruises in the que. MSC Divina in October, Silhouette in January, the IOTS in Februsry, Equinox on October 2017 followed by MSC Seaside March 0f 2018.

  2. We used to always ask when checking in. On two occasions we were able to upgrade to suites (once on Celebrity to the next biggest) for not a lot of $$. I have no idea why we quit asking but haven't tried in a long time. 39th cruise will be MSC Divina in October. Then again we have never receive a call offering an upgrade. Might be because we book balconies already. Maybe I should book insides and wait by the phone. :D

  3. We are booked on Silhouette in January 2017. We haven't sailed Silhouette but have sailed Eclipse and Reflection and are booked on Equinox in October of 2017. We prefer Celebrity over RCCL and Princess. We think the specialty restaurants are worth the money but the food in the MDR is fine also. Loved the Lawn Club Grill on Reflection and the Sunset Bar. Enjoy Silhouette. :D:D

  4. I was on Victory in January (2nd time on Victory) 5 night cruise to Ocho Rios and Grand Cayman. I prefer Carnival cabins over RCCL slightly larger. Had a balcony (9294) cabin steps from the pool. Food was good in the MDR. I opted to pay the extra for lobster at dinner. I was on Allure in April and it was a good cruise but for a short cruise I would pick Victory. :D:D

  5. I learned about MSC and Divina here on CC. I am very happy with Celebrity but when I read about the "match" and looked at the prices I couldn't resist booking a 7 day AFT balcony for the October 8th sailing. I too have read the good, bad and ugly reviews here. I am going with an open mind. I booked Seaside for March 2018 thinking if I don't like MSC I can always cancel but I felt that as Seaside gets closer to completion and as many more US cruisers discover MSC the pricing will go up. If I do love it I might have a problem with two Celebrity cruises I have booked for January 2017 and October 2017. I love Celebrity but you pay a premium for the experience. Divina will be my 39th cruise so I have lots to compare it with. :D:D I see both sides of the "Match" debate but feel it was a good move by MSC to gain the exposure they wanted and it appears that it worked.

  6. We were on Allure in April. (Not big RCCL fans...Prefer Celebrity) I picked Allure soley for the Rising Tide Bar. Before our cruise we received an email offering a 20% discount on the drink package. Ended up to be $48 pp/per day including grats. We thought it was a fair deal. We did enjoy Allure but are going back to Celebrity. (after we try MSC Divina in October.
