Ah, a fellow member of the "Social At Sea" society. Where we meet to discuss the best WiFi reception on the ship, little known Gram locations and recite the Social At Sea pledge. "Social Media is our friend, not food."  🙂

    Best wifi?

Isn’t this amazing!  Let’s scroll back to when Seaside first appeared in Miami.  The comments then were MSC will never make it in the USA...the food was bad...the service was cold...there was a smell on the upper decks, etc. etc.  At that time I said that MSC/Seaside etc. was “a work in progress”.  Virtually every item of complaint was addressed and great progress has been made.  MSC has steadily improved and will continue to strive for excellence.  MSC has a formula that, if adhered to, will make them the number one mass market cruise company in the USA.  This will take time but, given the perseverance of the entire MSC management and crew, will make MSC a great cruise company with a high demand and popularity.  The key to this success is a privately owned company with a close family management team unhampered by stock holders and corporate bean counters.  Certainly a refreshing change from the other mass market corporately owned companies that keep squeezing every penny out for the benefit of the stockholders and overpaid upper management.

    Well said.

    Thank you.

Was it perfect ?  No. But neither am I.

Will I cruise MSC again ?  Yes

  4. OP - We were on the same cruise (10-26 to  11-2).  We sailed on Seaside in January and April of 2018. We both felt the food (Buffet and MDR) was not close to last year’s two cruises. NY Strip in the MDR was too tough to cut with a steak knife.

    Just sayin’

Will we sail again ? Yes because of the price. We alternate between MSC and Celebrity.

Yes I have cruised Carnival many times. Platinum which is nice, no FTTF $$.

    Today’s cruise was #44.

Our current favorite is Celebrity but we cruised on MSC Divina because you couldn’t beat the price. We liked Divina which led us to book Seaside.

I was not alarmed by the negative reviews here.

Our January cruise was her third week of revenue sailings. We did not find many of the negatives reported by others. On the cruise we were in a balcony on 13 (13199). The cabins are smaller but not much different from new builds on other lines. The bath is smaller but workable for the two of us. The cabin location was right by the aft elevators that made the MDR easy.

This cruise we were in an S2 suite on 14 (14058). Just a little larger than our balcony cabin but the balcony was larger.

We did buy the Trio. We dined twice in Butcher’s Cut. Great food. Ate in Ocean’s Cay. Strange menu but large portions. The Trio is a DEAL. We also at in Teppanyaki. (Not part of the Trio)

A very fun experience and very good food. Ate in the MDR twice. Good food and service.

The adult pool on 7 aft was a good sun spot.

Sports bar on 8 was my favorite bar.

    Enjoy your cruise !
