  1. If you arrive earlier than your check-in time, will the porters still accept your luggage?   Then do they just make you hang outside the terminal?  Or are you not to even arrive too early?  On our upcoming cruise we have FTTF (and plan to arrive at/by our usual time of 10a), but my other relatives do not (they have the 1130a  checkin slot).  We would love to all ride together to the port, but not if it is a problem.

  2. When buying Cruise Cash on the Carnival site, do you receive a physical card/voucher that you have to then load onto your S&S account?  Or is it automatically added to your account and ready to go before boarding?  When I was going through the checkout process the system asked when I wanted it delivered to the cabin.

Hi all! We are considering a cruise wedding (taking a ~test cruise~ in April to see if I get seasick) for late 2019/early 2020. I didn't want a long engagement, but the more I put off making wedding plans the longer the engagement gets!

Congratulations! What cruise are you taking in April?

Maxauto rentals went very easy. Our golf cart went a decent speed, another couple that was following us to the lighthouse rented from another company and had a pinkish golf cart, theirs wasn't nearly as fast as ours.

Walk out the gate and they are waiting right there on the right side. Handed him my paper work and off we went. Very easy experience. They also gave us a small map and pointed out some tourist areas recommended.

    How recent was your experience?

This is a good map of Nassau.  I can't answer your question about the animal shelter but both Senior Frogs and Pirate Republic Brewery are on Woodes Rogers Walk, right next to the port (around #18 on the map).  John Watling's distillery is near #13.  It's within walking distance and would take 10-15 minutes.  Follow the signs.  There's a rum cake factory farther away on East Bay Street.  If you don't want to walk there, there's also a Tortuga Rum Cake gift shop right in town.  Enjoy!

    Great!  Thank you so much!

  6. A few questions.....

    1. Can only 1 person in a cabin elect the Vacation Protection if their roomie is not interested - or do both people have to if 1 person in the cabin wants the protection?
    2. What about the prepaid gratuities - can just one person prepay if the other wants to have it added to their sign & sail?
    3. We are cruising on April 21st.  What is the latest we can add Vacation Protection and Prepay Gratuities?

    TIA  🙂

  7. Hi there!  A few questions....

Are there any animal shelters in Nassau that we might be able to visit?  Preferably within walking distance of the port.

Is the Rum Cake Factory within walking distance?  I am thinking we might like to spend our day visiting: Senior Frogs for lunch, the Rum Distillery, the Brewery....and (if walkable) an animal shelter and the Rum Cake Factory.

Any chance there is a nice map out there that shows locations of these (and other) popular locations?

    TIA

  8. Definitely book an excursion and get away from the port.  While we will always walk about around ports, we always get out of there and do an excursion or tour (usually with a private company and not the ship).  Our last visit to Nassau we booked an excursion at Blue Lagoon.  We did the Sea Lion encounter and enjoyed that very much.  They have others to choose from as well as beach activities and snorkeling.  Previous cruises we have gone snorkeling with Stuarts Cove.

  9. I have done this tour before (really enjoyed it), and I thought it would be nice to gift this tour to my dad on our upcoming cruise.  He has a later check-in time than I do (I have FTTF).  Will the Shore Excursion desk allow me to book this for him (and bill my sign and sail card)?

this was from Puerto Plata.  things the orphanage needed-well anything for feminine hygiene. games, coloring books, books, in Spanish.  They are very hard to find in Atlanta.  The youngest girl was 5, and very precocious, but it appeared that the majority of the girls we around 8-10, and I really wish we had Nancy Drew books in Spanish.

I saw stuffed animals, but their library was only one small room, so if you go, bring books in Spanish.

    Was this a ship excursion?

From the Port Everglades website (http://www.porteverglades.net/cruising/arriving-and-departing/😞

Bring government-issued photo ID. Anyone 18-years-old and older must produce a government-issued photo ID (such as a drivers license or passport) at the security checkpoint before entering the Port.

Keep identification/cruise documents handy. Put them in your carry-on bag. Do not pack them in your checked luggage. You will need to produce these documents several times before boarding your ship.

Thank you.  For some reason I thought I remembered being asked to show our boarding pass....this is what made me concerned if someone in the vehicle does not have one (because they are just dropping off).  I thought I had also heard others say this has happened as well.

  12. If having a local friend drop you off at the terminal, will there be any problems with them getting though security if they are not sailing?  We are sailing with several other people and one person is going to visit a friend before the cruise.  She is wondering if her friend can drop her off rather than taking a taxi/Uber.

    TIA
