Can’t wait to meet everyone. Last night was a rough one! The seas were angry. The show had to canceled. It is finally calmer and things are back to normal. Tonight is a formal optional evening. Beautiful menu and terrific entertainment to look forward to!

We were booked on the first Serenity cruise, but decided summer air travel would be too hectic. So, now we are on the Quebec City/Miami itinerary. We’ve done that one before, but really are just eager to get back on the ship. We’re looking forward to the many sea days and seeing what the entertainment might be.

We originally booked the first cruise on the Serenity, but decided summer flights to Europe are so hectic that we changed our arrangement to October leaving from Quebec City. Can’t wait!

We’re booked (thanks to our very patient TA) on 2023 version from Quebec City to Miami. We will have stops in St. John, Halifax, Boston, Newport, NYC. We did a similar itinerary several years ago and enjoyed it. We felt this would be a great way to experience the new Crystal with easier air travel. With so many sea days, we will certainly get to know what the enrichment and entertainment is like. Hopefully, it will be as terrific as it was before. Looking forward to it!

Lois, it sounds as though the sea was as rough for you as it was for us. I'm glad you enjoyed your trip though. I 'm sorry to be such a grouch, but we were very disappointed with our cruise. I refer to it as my "Kindle cruise." We were just surprised that there was really nothing to do on sea days--even on the planned ones. No enrichment or daytime entertainment at all. It was really too windy most of the time to sit outside. I won't list all the things that went wrong. It could not have been a typical Silversea cruise. However, I must say that we enjoyed the food and thought the service was very good.

So, no one in all of Europe eats escargot anymore? It’s “old hat.” My husband and I enjoy it very much. We are always pleased to see it on the menu. I have to admit the preparation is not always our favorite. However, I have a feeling that we are too easy to please.

Another example—friends reserved an excursion, received a card in room saying the group would leave at 11. When they went to the meeting place, they were told the excursion had left at 9!! Strange. We’re having a wonderful time in spite of the confusion.

We made reservations 120 days out, but somehow they disappeared. Fortunately, my husband took a screenshot of the confirmation on My Silversea because I think they thought we didn’t actually do it. We didn’t get to eat at La Dame—it’s so tiny, they couldn’t squeeze us in. There is definitely a communications problem everywhere on the ship (Wind). Lots of different answers to the same questions! The captain has done a marvelous job keeping us from the dangerous weather (Caribbean). Hats off to him—literally!!

Thank you!

Another question— how early can we board? Noon?

We have our first SILVERSEA cruise booked(January) and I got it.

I’m assuming you have to get off the ship now. Not possible to stay on and enjoy Barcelona?

Sheila, After all the mishaps and your wonderful attitude, I think you should buy a lottery ticket! Just a feeling I have—-

Thank you for the information!

Asking for a friend, does the single supplement depend upon the itinerary? Or is it basically the same rate on all itineraries?

TC, all I have to say is "Bless your heart.":)

Wonderful review, but so hard to read with no spaces.

That has been changed. No indoor smoking except in Connoisseur Club. There are a couple of designated smoking areas outside. Thankfully, it is not allowed in cabins or verandas.

You will love it! Love sea days on Crystal! We did the first segment of the World Cruise that had sixteen sea days---wonderful time! Can't imagine doing a port every day.

Just read a wonderful review on the Crystal board (with pictures) that will definitely inspire you to do the Moscow trip. I'm so sorry that we didn't do it!

An hour and a half in an elevator would seem like three months to me! I am so claustrophobic! The rest of it doesn't seem too bad. Poor woman!

Another vote for Lale! We have had a number of guides over the years, but she still ranks at the top. Not only is she so knowledgable, but she has such a fantastic personality. You will learn so much and have a wonderful time with her.

Plus one, Suite. Still waiting for a positive post from Mr. Luxury.

Since we had visited St. Petersburg (three days) a few years ago and had seen the most important sites, this time we chose to do a private tour. Guide-Guru was highly recommended and they have been very responsive and helpful. We have put together a one day tour with them and will do a ships tour the second day. The price is very reasonable for the two of us. There seems to be a number of very good tour operators there. Our trip isn't August, so can't give you feedback if yours is in June!

What about the “card room?” Or would we interrupt something?
