  1. We always prepay our tips and also tip additional. When we meet the room steward we give him $20 with a simple request to please fill our cooler with ice instead of the ice bucket. If he has done so all week, we tip him an additional $20 plus at the end. We always request the same wait staff at dinner ( we do anytime dining) and tip them at the last dinner. We tip the servers, and the folks at the coffee shop and the guy who makes our pizza in the middle of the night, as we go. Good service is always rewarded. The folks who are trying to make our vacation a good one, deserve a tip,

  2. Been to Mr Sanchos only once and it was for about 4.5 hours. We liked it and paid for the AI. They only had Buffet menu then... people have now told me they do made to order now which is great. More of a party atmosphere and they do a fantastic job with the place. The service is outstanding, the food is good, drinks are good, Pool and bad is awesome, and the beach is wonderful. Biggest things I didn't like about it was the Buffet menu and the crowds.

Been to Nachi many, many times and we love it. We are booked to go back in Sept. The service is outstanding, we love the food and drinks (ask for stronger if needed), same beach as Sanchos so wonderful, pool and pool bar is awesome, and we like to rent the Jet Ski from there and also parasail. They have other excursions there at the desk - kayaks, etc. Biggest thing that we love about it is they only allow 100 people into the whole place and it is quiet/relaxing. Very rustic and not much concrete -- which we love.

Both places are great in their own way. It just depend on what is best for you.

How is the beach decline/incline at Nachi ? I have read posts that stay it is anywhere from Steep as a hill, and folks had to ask for assistance to get out of the water, to it is a slight drop. DH has knee issues, so I am trying to decide which beach will be easier for him Nachi or Sancho's.

    Thank you ..

  3. We have the same situation with DH's family anytime we go anywhere together for vacation or a family event out of town. Hands down someone (typically a couple) stays behind to monitor and assist our elderly family members. It is what it is and we just understand it needs to be our responsibility if we want them to be part of the trip.

If something were to happen or they become disoriented or ill for some reason, it would be awful for them to be alone not knowing what to do or how to reach out to their family members. We alternate couples (we have 2 people stay behind so that one can stay with the family members and one can get help or be food runner or what ever), it is just part of our trip.

Look, if this is more than likely your last family vacation with them as you say due to failing health issues, there will be plenty of other years for "all of you" to do other excursions together.

You all will have a blast in the long run, have fun!

    Bravo..my thoughts exactly

  4. I have been on many cruises and cruise lines. In my experience, CCL has the best staff and we always have the best time on a Carnival cruise. A change of port due to an ill passenger, does not make a cruise bad. Taking precautions due to a potential bomb, does not make a cruise bad. It says to me that Safety comes first to Carnival, and that is important. Sorry to all who had a less than perfect cruise, but stuff happens. Make the best of it and move on.

  5. Sailing on NCL in January on Epic. Staying in a Studio cabin. No single supplement. Wish Carnival would, at least, not punish me monetarily for sailing on their ships because I'm a single. Yes, I know Blah,Blah, Blah it's an empty bed they need to make up that income.

You will have a blast on the Epic. We loved it so much, we sailed her three times. Lots of single cruisers and lots of fun.
