  1. Just returned last week. The first place we encountered wanted $50 for one hour massage.
I said no, and they asked how much I want to pay.  I said $25 for an hour.
    no negotiating they immediately accepted

I've never bought the Key until just recently.  The price for internet (multiple devices under one person) was only $3/day less than buying the Key.  For us, the extra $21, or whatever, in total was worth it.  Normally The Key "on Sale" is around $25/pp/pd, but we found it at ~$18 during one of the sales. Since Royal allows you to log-in and log-out , if one person wants to use multiple devices, they can.

It’s not just three dollars a day. The more devices you buy under one name, the price becomes cheaper. So say the Internet is $17.99 a day. If you bought two devices under one name, it is not $17.99 for each. The price goes down. The key not go down everyone in the state room has to pay that price.  So I guarantee you you paid more than three dollars per day.

  3. Not close to worth it. It is the easiest boarding process ever on oasis class. I took 10 cruises this last year most out of Miami I went from my car in the parking garage on board in 15 minutes max. That is showing up at 11 o’clock with no key.  Everybody in your cabin Hass to purchase the key when you purchase Internet under one person with multiple devices. It comes out cheaper per day so usually the key is a lot more expensive to get lunch on the first day.  For the amount of money you’re saving by not purchasing the key, you could go to chops for lunch.  Reserve seating at the theater is a joke. Either way you gotta show up early to get decent seats not worth it at all.

Prices are set by Port of Miami, not RCCL.

That's their current day rate regardless of length of cruise.

Unfortunately there are few nearby offsite parking lots with decent reputation.

Not true. Port price is $25. Royals terminal A is regulated by Royal. They can charge their own rates. Independence has cheaper parking rate because they don’t dock at terminal A. My son work at royal

  5. We go every time to beach and get our cheap massages. Last year we paid $40 an hour. We know you can negotiate and tge farther down you go on the beach, the cheaper it tends to get.  Does anybody know what the going rate is now?

  6. The key is really not worth it unless you are solo.
people all try to say oh well it was the same price as the Internet or maybe a couple dollars more. They do not understand that if you purchase the Internet under one person with multiple devices, it comes out cheaper the more devices you add to one person. Getting on and off the ships nowadays are so fast you do not need the key for that as far as shows on the bigger ships it’s still of no advantage you still need to show up 20-30 minutes before to get your seats, whether you have the key or not. If you want to give money to Royal, they love it go ahead and purchase otherwise it’s not needed.

  7. I bring a foam mattress topper king size. No problem. If traveling with my son I take king and fold in half on twin. I always take it when traveling with my husband who has a bad back. He can’t do the Kermit. So uncomfortable. Like a crap air mattress. We love our topper. We roll it up and put in a large duffel bag.

We are Diamond on Royal but we have done 3 MSC cruises and another booked for October. The first thing about MSC. If you booked them in the States it is so different cruising MSC in Europe. They deal with an entirely different clientele and, while we feel like strangers sometimes, as most of the passengers are European, we enjoyed those cruises. Their shows are well done and the cast of their shows, at least the women, are simply gorgeous.

Royal has been nickel and diming its passengers to death and continually taking away things that brought many of us to Royal in the first place. We still cruise with Rpyal but we are now exploring other options.

    Cheers

    Len

What nickel and diming on Royal??  You mean MSC where they charge for a zip line. Shows are all free.

hi I never sailed on a royal Caribbean ship however will be sailing on symphony of the seas this September. how does royal compare to msc?

in the meantime I am debating if i should book another royal cruise before trying in September. I was looking for Anthem of the seas from Southampton September 2024.

Any help please as I am confused.

MSC is horrible in so many ways. They don’t care is your trip was bad. They food is terrible, nothing like listening to 100 different languages to start a show. I can go on and on. There is no comparison, Royal is 1,000 times better.
