  1. I use a pac safe money satchel that hangs around my neck, I can hang it to the front or side. I also put my cell phone in there too. It has cut proof straps. It can hidden underneath your shirt. Also when I had to have my backpack I always wore it with one strap going on my shoulder and have it to sit between my arm and body sitting toward the front of me, especially in busy areas like Las Ramblas and the metro. I was always also very aware of my surrounding.

  2. Hyatt Regency Long Beach is a nice hotel in your budget close to The Cruise Port. It is in a perfect location in the main part of town. It is right beside a open air shopping mall and about a one minute walk to the harbor which has a nice walkway around the bay with restaurants, shops, aquarium etc. I paid 142 USD.

Hotel Current is so far away from everything and much further away from the cruise port.

  3. Gold to Platinum seems like a big deal because now you are invited to the "top tier event".

But the only additional perk from going from Platinum to Emerald (which we are 3 days away from) is a snack and a drink (water/juice/pop) on boarding. Wowwee.

    What crystal blocks?

I wish they had more then just a welcome gift and drink especially when it is 25 more points to go from Platinum to Emerald. It seems pointless going from Platinum to Emerald.

Here is a link from RCCL with all the benefits for each level.

  4. I always do excursions when I go on a cruise for every port. The only exception are places like Turks and Caicos where they have a pool and beach right in the port. As well as places like the very small island of Santorini, Greece where it is just a cool very small place you can easily walk around and it is right by the ship.

  5. Atlantis is really cool, and the grounds are really good too. the aquarium called the dig is interesting and different then any other aquarium.

They also have a Pirate museum there that you can walk easily walk to.

If you your party likes shopping, they have a shopping area called the straw market that is a easy walk.
