  1. I kind of have mixed feelings about this. We’re cruising Mexico in January.  We’re going “whole hog” this time. We’ve got a nice suite (aft corner) and the whole Megillah.  Our first time in a suite after 20 years of cruising. Don’t tell anybody but I’ ll turn 80, midweek of our cruise. I am so happy, appreciative, thankful! This cruise is very special for my wife and I. I really want to tell the world but I’m a very private person too who doesn't like to draw attention to himself.  So we’ll try to stay beneath the radar. Don’t tell anyone.

  2. I’ve been trying to access my Princess Medallion  “get ready for travel” for months and I keep getting a red colored type stating “ something must have gone wrong, please try later.”
My Medallion will open up and allow me to access, but I cannot acess any of the information or ordering a medallion.  I called Princess once because first I was unable to open it all, talked to a nice lady, after connecting fairly quickly, she managed to get it to open for me, she eventually told me to call again in 3-5 days.

I”ve given up.  It’s a frustrating pain in the rear!  We’ll just show up on boarding day with the necessary documents and hope for the best.

I have to agree with Wishing on a star. I have ordered prime rib many times on embarkation night and (as I recall) it had always been delicious.  They served it later in the week and the quality had been not so good, too much fat or grizzle and usually under done.

The Coral had a streak several years ago where the MDR food was consistently excellent for approx 3-5 consecutive years.  I don’t recall that time span now.  The Coral has always been one of our favorites.  Love that forward buffet!

  4. Simply said, CCL Is crushed by current debt, $35 Billion.  They won’t get any relief or bailouts because they are registered in Panama to avoid taxes and U S regulations. They are underwater and slowly sinking financially.Their future looks murky at best. To get some needed cash, they are contemplating a sale of their Seabourne Lines to some Saudi entity.

I had a friend who worked for another cruise line tell me, "There are three kinds of cruise lines: beer & pretzels, wine & cheese, and champagne & caviar". Princess has always been, and remains a "wine & cheese" cruise line. About as middle of the road as you can get.

  6. To me, I still think Princess ships and crews are elegant, regal, and hard working. I enjoy being on them and life on the open seas. But the management of them has gone to a “big box” outlook and mentality. All the cushy little frills that made Princess special are slowly disappearing along with the rapidly disappearing quality of their food and service.

The principal head of Princess has a brain the size of one of his Medallions and there is nothing premium about the guy other than his pay.  I think it’s obscene how much he is paid.  And bonuses too.   Just my 2 cents.

We have 2 cruises booked for next year.  20+ days to Sydney and b2b Canal cruises for 30 days.  I no longer have the trust and confidence that Princess has as their top priority the comfort, health, welfare of their paying passengers.  I’m giving serious consideration to cancellation.

  7. In 20+ years of cruising with Princess, I’ve taken many cans of diet Pepsi Cola in my heavy luggage or my carryon and it has never been an issue.  Once, in my checked in luggage, I had a 3” Swiss army pocket knife in a small toiletry bag.  I was called to Security to claim my suitcase.  I told them its main purpose was to cut fruit when we ate some in our cabin. They let me keep it.

  8. I’m with you Hunter.  We were on the Majestic from 12/28 - 1/8.  I like to say that Princess reached a new culinary low on our cruise.  The food was putrid! I had the same lobster tail experience as you.  I only had one one decent meal in 10 days, and that includes the buffet,  except for the pizza at Alfredos. That good meal was a filet mignon at GC. It was perfectly cooked and delicious.

We are loyal Princess cruisers for well over 20 years.  We love our days at sea on Princess ships. If this inferior quality food continues, we may go elsewhere.

  9. In the future use a TA.  I got sick and tired of holding for hours to have someone hang up on you or never come back.  I now book with a TA and my bookings are frustration free once again.  I don’t know how much longer Princess can stay in business with such shoddy customer service. Some how my TA seems to always get right through to them when there is a question or issue to clear up.

  10. The Discovery has been moved to the regularly used Berth #92/93 terminal.  It is only temporary.  They are having some publicity events for a few days this week.
VIP types, TA’s, & who knows who else are invited to board.
