Greetings.  My DH and I are sailing Seabourn Ovation next summer (2025) in the Mediterranean.  We are doing a 20 day cruise - started with a 10 and decided to jump in with both feet and add the additional 10 days.  We have a big anniversary to celebrate - what better way, right?

We are curious about the sport platform on Marina deck.  There are many tender ports on our itinerary.  Are water sports offered?

Also, wondering about the Grill by Thomas Keller.  We understand that we can have 1 night in this restaurant.  Is that 1 time for the whole 20 days or 1 time per each of the 10 day segments.

We are not new to cruising, just new to small ship cruising.  Any other pearls of wisdom will be appreciated.

    Many thanks in advance.

The Marina deck was used at the tender port of Patmos on our cruise last summer.  We didn't participate but those who did looked to be having a fabulous time!

Greeting!  I am looking for a referral for our first cruise on Seabourn in late June 2024.  We have two bookings.  Please let me know if one of you past guests would like to help me out.

    Thanks.

I can help with one of your bookings if you wish. Contact me at  allibongo1 at yahoo dot co dot uk

    Happy sailing, you'll love it!

  3. We went on our first Seabourn cruise this year for our 20th wedding anniversary and as we were having a day in the Retreat asked for cold seafood to be served for lunch. A beautiful platter arrived on the day along with accompanying sauces, all washed down with Cattier champagne!  N.B. we were in a V2 suite.

  4. About 3 years ago on the Reflection I really liked the sound of the Spicy Mangotini. We asked if we could just sit down for a cocktail (it wasn't very busy) and they were more than happy to oblige and even brought us some complimentary chicken dumplings to enjoy. They encouraged us to come up to the counter and watch the chef creating some of the sushi dishes. At no point did we feel pressured to order any food. (we had the Premium drinks package and the martini was covered by that.)

We did a tour with Dora in 2011 and it was great.  Since you are in a smaller vehicle than the huge bus on the X tour, you can go places like the monastery at the top of the hill overlooking the city.

I was surprised to read that the X tour was cheaper.   What was included in the X tour?

The description is as in the original post, only difference seems to be the church up the hill??

We're in the early stage of planning excursions for our March 2020 cruise on Reflection. We have cruised before and have always found booking independently of Celebrity to be much better value. However we have been quoted $70pp for a four hour tour with Dora (approx £57 gbp) whilst a very similar tour on Celebrity cruise planner is only £37pp. We know Dora will be max 16 people but is this really worth the extra money. This is the description of the two tours and we'd appreciate any thoughts you may have.

Next we walk and drive around the walled area - old city admiring houses and plazas such as Plaza de Santa Teresa, Plaza de Bolivar, Plaza de la Aduana, Plaza de los Coches, full of history and legends. Photo stop at the Palace of the Inquisition.

We do a stop at the Dungeons, which today are 23 handcraft shops. (option to walk the walls)

We Visit a Church called San Pedro Claver Church.

    Time 4:00 hours

  8. Affogatos are fabulous and they are covered under the Classic Drink Package. There's nothing better than having an affogato after coming back from a hot shore excursion. Also covered under the Classic Drink Package are "Igloos" and "Aspen Coffee", both are wonderful drinks available at Café al Bacio and are "must try". Enjoy

We are on the Silhouette in two weeks time (yaay!) My husband enjoys a coffee and separate brandy after his evening meal and found on our first Celebrity cruise on Reflection last year that the bars didn't offer coffee.

Would this be an option in Café al Bacio as I notice that some of their speciality coffees have brandy in them ?

  9. After disembarking from Port Everglades our flight out of Miami isn't until 10pm. Has anyone done the Celebrity excursion Miami hop on hop off tour? The Celebrity website states it's 5 hours long which would only take us to just after lunchtime, so still many hours to spare. Don't want to be sat at the airport for hours!! Any advice greatly appreciated!

  10. We are staying at La Casa del Mar hotel on Granada St pre-cruise and have just realised it's the FLL Marathon on the morning we need to get to our ship at Port Everglades, Sun Feb 19th. We're aiming to board as early as possible.

Will this cause major disruption, and should we allow extra time for our taxi transfer. Also want to try to avoid getting ripped off by being taken a long route round unnecessarily!

    Any comments much appreciated.

  11. We are staying at the La Casa del Mar, Granada St. Will not get to hotel until about 8pm on a Friday night. Any ideas for a quick meal within (very) easy walking distance bearing in mind that we will be jet lagged after a TA flight. Can see Casablanca but their dinner menu seems a little heavy (and pricey!) Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

  12. It will only be included if you are in a Concierge room or above. Basically, it might be included as a room perk but not as a beverage package perk.

You may, however, go to the buffet or MDR and order it. Then it would be covered. Confused yet? :p

Thanks for your replies, guess we'll have to set our alarm and get to the MDR at a reasonable time!

The beverage packages do not cover ANY kind of room service - it doesn't matter if it's juice or alcohol.

You'll have to go to the buffet or the dining room to get your fresh squeezed juice (or any other kind of covered drink).

its included in the classic package, but I don't think the stuff that comes with room service breakfast is freshly squeezed.
