Exactly... no need to discount anymore - they sell the package with the “convenience” of booking the first night for you as part of the package.
Is it just the first night or the first OR second night? I got an option when I purchased.

If you are truly looking for a mostly adult environment, go smaller and/or longer. RC ships are much more family oriented. Of course, the time of year should help as the kids will be in school.

Some of the U tube videos say that you can bring cans of soda on board RCL, but our cruise contract says NO beverages except a bottle of wine. CAN you bring your own soda?
Do they have different contracts for different ships on RCCL?. I was surprised when I read mine to not find this restriction. Just the one on alcohol. Maybe I missed it...those contracts are long 🙂

Concierge email addresses are in this document:

But based on the FAQ on the RCCL website, you can’t reserve more than a week out unless you are Star. Is that not true in anyone’s experience here?

I been to St. Thomas many times, would like a change of port but certainly not be happy if it were Nassau. Why can't they add like they used to have back in the 70's and 80's Martinique, guadalope, Grenada and such, would love if they go to different ports than the same old ones over and over and over.
Because the largest ships need extensive infrastructure improvements at the port to accept these larger ships. This is the downside to how large these ships have become.

How much time do you typically spend in your room?

Our 7th Alaskan Cruise is in August. My family and I would never do this cruise without a passport or one the new passport type cards that are available. If you're going to spend this much on a cruise what is the issue with covering all your bases and having a passport? If you get sick or hurt in route to Victoria and have to get off the ship (and have to stay in Victoria), it becomes a problem for you and your family. If the ship has engine or other problems and you have to go into a Canadian port, you can have a problem too. Passports are a safety net if there are international issues anywhere and you're there.
One thing on this comment - you want a FULL passport (the book), not the card if you have to fly back from Canada (or any foreign port) due to an emergency, the card will not work. Otherwise, this is really good advice.

We are going to be on deck 7 and I got an email saying to check-in at 2:30. I am sorry but that is too late. We would hardly have time to eat and it would be a very late lunch. Can we still check-in and board early or is this a very strict policy? We have to leave our hotel at 11 so waiting beyond that time is just not possible with all of our luggage.
Also remember that many hotels will let you check out late without a charge if you ask. You know...if you don't want to schlepp your carry ons around prior to the rooms being available.

Per https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/1250/kw/Bahamas%20visa a visa would be required as they are traveling from Vancouver

I'm asking this question for friends of mine who do not have a US Visa.
They want to take a Celebrity cruise (to Alaska) starting and ending in Vancouver, Canada.
Can they book this cruise without having US visas?
Assuming they need US Visas at all then, yes, they would have to get them so they can visit the ports along the way, most of which are in the US.

Gee. And I always thought the box the wine comes in had the greatest effect on taste :D

Another though that might be anathema to the posters here (*smile*): Show up later. Even if they are taking your bags inside the terminal, they are still going on those carts no matter what. It is how they transport the baggage to security and then on to the ship. The potential still exists to get things mixed up when the offboard and onboard traffice gets mixed up. Sorry in advance to those who need to be the first on 🙂
