  1. My son and I are cruising on the Silhoutte on a 3 night cruise for a quick weekend getaway. In the cruise planner there is an unlimited dining package that includes lunch. We don’t have a sea day on our cruise. Will any of the restaurants be open for lunch on the first day or any of the port days? I’m just trying to figure out if the unlimited dining is worth it.
  2. I have booked my first celebrity sailing and have a few questions. I am diamond on Royal so I will have elite status on celebrity. I am traveling with my 15 year old son who is also diamond but I understand he will not have elite status since he is under 18. Can he attend the elite breakfast with me? Is he allowed to order latte’s there? Also, I am assuming he doesn’t get to participate in the happy hour by ordering a soda but I wanted to confirm. Thanks!
  3. We will be in Mykonos in a month and would like to go to Platis Gialos. I know there is a bus to the beach leaving from Fabrika bus station. I recently read something about a water taxi as well. That sounds like more fun. Has anyone taken the water taxi to Platis Gialos? What is the cost and is it easy to find the dock? Thanks!
  4. On a cruise years ago my son had his first ever asthma attack. He was 6 years old and it was pretty scary for us. The ship doctor and nurse could not have been nicer or more attentive. We had to keep returning for nebulizers and they always got him in and out quickly. The bill wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be either. The one thing I did not realize is that they don’t stock many meds for kids. He needed steroids and they only had pills. That was a challenge but we did eventually get him to swallow the pills which were thankfully very small.
  5. I almost wonder if they are adding water to the bottles themselves. I watched them make the drinks and it looks like they are making a normal drink but it doesn’t taste like a normal drink. I order a vodka martini so other than the olive brine there is no mixer but it still tasted watered down.
  6. If anyone has any suggestions, tips or links to helpful articles and packing list for a European land/cruise vacation I would be super appreciative. We will be spending a week in Italy and then a week on a cruise to Italy and Greece. I will be traveling with a 12 and 14 year old and my husband. We would love it if we can fit everything in a carry on suitcase because we are switching cities/hotels 3 times during our week in Italy. It will be in August so I’m sure it will be super hot. We do have access to a washer and dryer at the end of our land portion. I want to start buying what we need but I am super overwhelmed and I don’t know what that is. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated!!
  7. Probably. Right now we are traveling with 2 kids and Royal has a lot to offer for kids. When they are older we will likely switch to a different cruise line. We will try Celebrity first to try to maintain some of the loyalty perks but would start over with a new cruise line if that isn’t the right fit. Right now we are limited in how much vacation time we have so we are willing to spend more money to make sure it’s what we want.
  8. My family and I felt the same way about the food. The specialty restaurants and Coastal Kitchen are still good so now we book the unlimited dining plan if we aren’t sailing in a suite with access to a coastal kitchen. I also found the drinks watered down. I don’t like to drink empty calories so I would rather have one strong martini vs 3 watered down drinks.
