I've been reading this thread for the last week and have found it fascinating... to have so many knowledgeable, articulate posters with the ability to make an extremely complex situation understandable to the rest of us is amazing. This is a great example of how Cruise Critic can shine and inform those of us who are following along.
Please don't ruin it Uniall, try to detach from petty emotion and let this thread continue to educate us all... there are thousands who will be reading these words and they'll be learning more here than they'll learn anywhere else about this tragedy.

I know I am a sap, but I actually had to wipe away a tear as I read about the big surprise. I cannot wait to read more. You are a wonderful woman for getting all of this together for him! :)

Hi Silver,
I'm Jenn, one of the roomies. Not sure if she saw the throwing of the fish. While Karen, Roy, & I were on the Segway tour (a MUST!!), we got to go there and we were told that to see the good part you have to be there early in the morning when all the buyers are there. We saw a few fish go flying that afternoon but nothing like what it is in the mornings. We'll see if Lambie got to see any fish fly.
Jenn
Jenn -- thank you for responding but Lambie stated quite a bit earlier that she didn't get to see this, but that you and the Segway folks did. Fun, Huh? Silver

Lambie -- great, terrific wonderful! Am I bored? Let me check...umm, no not at all. Love all the pictures!! The eagle is inspiring. When we were up there, DH and friend took a fishing excursion and caught a "too small" fish. As he threw it up in the air, an eagle swooped down and caught it in its beak. He continues to talk about that and our Alaskan cruise was in 1997!! Speaking of which, did the naturalist express concern about the glaciers melting? We were there in July and my pictures show much more snow and ice. In fact, there are no mountains or shrubs showing, all surfaces painted white and glistening. And the glaciers seemed to much higher than your pictures show. ?? Could the scientist be right about global warming?
Carry on, my friend!! I'm so glad my predictions came true and that you had an outstanding time!!:) Silver

I am enjoying your review, Lambie.
I am, too, Lambie!! Can't wait for the glaciers and Tracy Arms. Incredible, amazing, overwhelming sights, too beautiful for words -- Not a word I use very often, but AWESOME to behold and experience! Silver
And, by the way, you can keep going. I'm sure no one is bored!!:p

Lambie - you're a TEASER!!:):D Funny, if you didn't know those colored curlicues were the WaterWorks, you would think they were fancy ribbons. Great pictures.Loved the food photos and Little Lambie in his own "apartment"!

i would like to make a suggestion. This thread is followed by a great many viewers, some of whom do not respond, but simply want to learn. Please put aside the arguing, posturing, and exclamations during the differences of opinion, and keep the thread civil. I would really hate to see it disappear. Thank you. Silver

If you happen to find my website on your own and want to gush about the photos on it, please just email me through there from now on as I really love this community and do not wish to risk being banned from it. I sincerely appreciate all of the kind words from everyone though!
I guess I was very fortunate, then, because I viewed your website from your link yesterday, and I thought it was just GREAT!! Amazingly beautiful pictures with a totally different perspective!! WONDERFUL!! And such terrific music! I had planned to respond yesterday, but ran out of time, because I got so involved with your site. Thank you sooo much for this review! Silver
P. S. I am so sorry for the loss of your mother....but I know she's VERY proud of you!

That means that the remaining 4200 views [quick math in head] among the 6 of you, would be 700 views each. That's kind of insane, don't you think? I love reading too (not really), but 700 views per person? (quote)
I've been reading, and enjoying immensely, and I promise that I haven't perused more than 642 times! Please, keep writing.:D Silver

Mike, you do an amazing job with your reviews and this one is no exception! Don't know how you find the time as I know how involved and time consuming it is. Another job well done! Thanks for sharing all your photos.:):):)
Couldn't have phrased it any better -- much gratitude and applause for such an excellent review!! Thank you, again, Mike. Silver

AND TERI1 IS NOT ON A POLE!!! Silver :rolleyes:Not sure it is the funniest. But it is us as we were going from Bar to Bar on the Dream, for our Dream Catchers Bar Hop Tour.
This is only a handful in the group.
as you can see it was a dress up Bar hop tour.
Funny thing, some of us didn't have a thing to drink and yet, look at how we dressed!

Barb --thank you again for sharing!! Beautiful pictures -- loved the little boy gazing out the window, and your poor DH waiting in the airport. Kinda' makes you know it's time to move on. SIGH!! It also make me realize, again, how blessed and fortunate we are. Amazing trip, and I'm grateful you took us along.:D :D Silver

Barb -- what a WONDERFUL review. Love all the pictures. When we went, we did stay at the Pan Pacific, had lunch there waiting for friends to arrive, and ordered the tuna burger. It was a tuna filet, with l/t on a roll with bechamel sauce! We've been trying to duplicate that wondrous flavor ever since!! Am absolutely loving your review, loving every description, reliving our AMAZING Alaska trip!! Please keep on describing, girl!! Silver :D :D :D

Bid for #3 in San Pedro for $65, told too low (Friday night), rebid for $75, told to add $22 to bid, complied, and got Crowne Plaza for $92 plus $20.85 tax. On return, bid for #4, Portofino Inn in Redondo, and couldn't get it, even at $120. Changed parameters to include LAX area and got Airport Marriott at $85 plus $19.84. This for cruise end of October. Probably overpaid a little, but wanted to get these res confirmed. I'm happy!:D Silver:cool:
Edited to add: All on Priceline
