My mom and I are sailing on Apex next month in an IV cabin, and we have a few questions:
1. Does the bathroom have a retractable clothesline?
2. How dressy/not-dressy are Evening Chic nights? We tend to go dressier and wonder how common that is (not evening gowns, but dressy pants and tops).
3. Are the smoothies and juices at the Spa Cafe covered in the classic alcohol package?
Thanks!

Since it’s impossible to order luggage tags from the screen shown above (doesn’t allow country to be put in) I went to “manage reservation” and then “before you board”. I was able to order luggage tags from there. I put all of the info in and hit send and got no confirmation or anything so wasn’t sure if it actually went through so I tried again the next day and got the same thing,……..today i received 2 sets of luggage tags in the mail 😂
Thank you! I could not figure out how to order luggage tags with that country glitch.

20 minute tender ride sounds a lot better! 40 minutes in one of those boats is not my idea of fun.

I'll be on this ship in January. Really appreciate all the tips! I haven't downloaded the app yet but will definitely do that before the cruise.

Thank you for posting these! I'll be on the Sirena in December--was on it three years ago before the refurbishment. The new decor looks great.

I was on this cruise as well. I thought the internet worked very well--I had some buffering issues trying to watch a TV show, and it was a little slow out of Ensenada, but overall more than adequate for my needs.
My cabin (E317) had plumbing issues the first night, but they were fixed promptly and didn't recur. However, I did notice several "under maintenance" signs in the public restrooms on the sea day.
We also found service in the dining room to be spotty. We were Anytime Dining, and on two of the nights there were long waits between courses or to order.
I also miss the comfortable chair in the cabin. especially since Princess never had sofas for the non-suite cabins.
Overall I liked the cruise, but I like other Princess ships more.

Yeah, my mom forwarded me an e-mail about our February 14 Ruby cruise offering MedallionNet. I had previously purchased a minutes plan and wanted to swap it out, but couldn't as of yesterday. I haven't tried today though. May have to wait till I board.

Thanks for your insights! Can you elaborate on the weird layout? Aside from the pesky at restaurant on deck 6 that seems only to be reachable via the aft elevator, I don’t see any other quirks.
also, is formal night observed in Steamers and Planks during dinner, or is smart casual ok?
I found it easy to get turned around on the Lido deck, more so than on other ships I've been on.
Didn't eat at Steamers or Planks on formal nights but (smart) casual would certainly be fine. Don't want to get barbecue stains on nice clothes!

I'm going on the Ruby Princess with my family in February. We are thinking about taking an early afternoon excursion but wondered if we can get on an earlier tender instead of waiting for our excursion. Can we get our tickets/stickers that morning? Do you have to be on the tender with the rest of the group, or can you just meet everyone else where the tour starts in town?
Thanks!

Was on Caribbean Princess in October and really enjoyed it, though I agree with an above poster who said the buffet could get repetitive.
Best: Steamers and Planks are fantastic deals for $12. The Salty Dog burger with the smoked gouda (I forget the name)). I regret not having the soft-serve till the end, because the chocolate was delicious. The variety of prizes given at trivia.
Worst: Even toward the end of the 10 days, I kept getting lost. One of the weirder layouts I've been on, and I wasn't alone.
-
Really disappointing to hear. The Medallion Net worked well for me on the Caribbean Princess in October, and I was hoping to have it on the Ruby in February as well.
-
Thank you! That is really helpful. Sounds like it won't be too hard to visit several places each day, with everything being pretty convenient.
-
I'll be on the American Duchess in April and have questions about the hop-on/hop-off. How frequently do the buses run? Are they every hour or half hour, for example? Are there are other stops you can visit besides the ones listed under "Included Excursions" on the website? Also, do they run the entire time we're in port?
-
I wonder when that will be rolling out. I'm going on the Ruby in February and just checked--still by the minute.
-
Thank you for posting this. I'll be on this ship in October and glad to see a more positive review. I still don't really understand ***** so don't care much about that, but hoping the Internet service will be good on my cruise as well.

Grand Circle cancelled its Budapest to Bucharest cruise that was schedule to depart on August 29. They said they couldn't guarantee a boat would be available.

I need the rest of this review!

I hope all the ships list the wines like this in the MDR. It's really helpful to know at a glance what can be ordered off the Classic package without paying the upcharge.
-
It is -- no clothesline. We pack a travel clothesline; we like the braided ones with Velcro on the ends.
Thanks! Sounds like the kind of clothesline we bought for the Solstice, so we'll be sure to bring it on this cruise.
-
When my mom and I sailed on the Solstice in February 2016, the showers lacked the retractable clotheslines you normally see in cabin showers. I was wondering if that was the case for the Silhouette, in particular for oceanview cabins.
Thanks!
-
On the Solstice last year, I couldn't get a Moscow Mule on the Classic plan. The bartender gave me a vodka and ginger ale instead, which was fine but not nearly as good. I'll be on the Silhouette in August and will probably spend the extra couple dollars on a Moscow Mule this time (have the Classic plan again).

It is really convoluted. I had to go to "refine" and then pick the ship and sailing date, and even then it doesn't group the excursions in a logical way (e.g., in chronological order). And then if you hit the back button on your browser, it doesn't take you back to that refined list--you have to start all over again. Ridiculous design.

Thank you for posting the menus! Very helpful to see the latest prices.

Thank you! This is all very helpful. We do have a clothesline we can bring, but it's so much easier when there's already one there.
