If I were making the decision for my family, I'd keep the Sky Loft. In my opinion, the value of all the Star Class perks are worth more than the sum of the individual parts.

Can anyone tell me if smoothies from the Vitality cafe are included in the Star class fare? I know they aren't included in the drink package but I'm wondering if they are covered as all speciality dining is included? Thanks!

They were included for us in Star Class when we were on Allure last September. Hopefully they still are.

Thanks again, ljcofy, for taking us along with you on your Star Class adventure.
Some of your comments brought back memories of our own experience in the same suite last September.
You definitely aren't the only one who has experienced noise issues while in the Grand Loft. Before we sailed last year, I came across other similar complaints and also experienced it for myself while aboard.
However, it definitely didn't diminish our overall experience and we all still give that cruise glowing reviews to anyone who asks (and also to a few people who didn't...lol).
Thanks again for sharing your thoughts. It's been really enjoyable.

I've really enjoyed reading your posts - from the upsell story, you keeping it a surprise, and finally the experiences you had while aboard.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us!

You're welcome! I posted some Facebook Live videos last night of the Fine Line show from our balcony. It's very cool to watch from that perspective!

I saw your videos first thing this morning after I got up :-).
I've been periodically checking here, your blog, and Facebook for updates.
I'm not the least bit excited about my upcoming cruise and living vicariously through everyone else posting live reviews - honest.
Ok, maybe I am a little

The loop messaging service is web based and not an app you install directly on your phone.
Our experience with it last year was less than stellar. Before boarding we had better luck communicating with our Genie via their email address and by phone once we were aboard.

Thank you! Ironically, they sent the survey about the checkin to my husband (bad move) even though I am first on the reservation. I would have sent back a more constructive response. Haha!
If you haven't already, you might consider contacting the guest services manager to discuss your experiences.
While shore-side issues are generally out of the control of the onboard staff, they can at least hear your concerns and make sure they are escalated through proper channels.
Thanks for the pictures! We're in the starboard side A1 for our cruise in September so I appreciate all the information you're providing.

That check in and embarking process they put you through sounds terrible.
I'm sorry to hear that.
I am glad that once the Genie appeared things got better for you.
Thanks for sharing your experiences with us here and Facebook.

Hi folks,
A friend who knows I like cruising with Royal Caribbean asked me a question and I thought I'd check here to verify my understanding of the policy with anyone who might have first hand experience.
As the topic title states, my friend asked if their 18 year old daughter would be permitted to sail alone with her 21 year old boyfriend.
I checked the policy on Royal Caribbean's website and as far as I can tell, they shouldn't have any problem.
However, because this is Royal Caribbean, and I've seen enough weirdness with their website/IT, I thought it would be wise to look for confirmation here.
Anyone have first-hand experience with this want to chime in and either confirm or correct my interpretation of the policy?
Thanks!

BTW, does anyone have photos of the OLS on the Allure? Can't seem to find many pics of that cabin either. TIA!
Hi, you're correct about the lack of photos of the Owner's Loft. We had the same issue while looking for images of the GLS before we sailed last year.
While not photos like you asked, I did find a video of the OLS on Allure:
If you haven't already done so, you may be able to find more information if you search for Royal Suite 1701, which was what it was originally known as before being changed to the Owner's Loft.
I hope you find this helpful.
Have a great cruise!

After a quick search on Royal Caribbean's website, it appears that anyone wanting to purchase pictures after your cruise has ended may be out of luck.
According to the FAQ section, the photography is handled by a third party named Photo Image Services.
A search of Photo Image Services' website located this:
Maybe further contact with them might result in a different answer, but according to the most available information, it does seem discouraging.
I'm sorry that I couldn't find better news but maybe if you try calling, perhaps someone there might be able to help.

We received an initial questionnaire a few weeks before our cruise last September and it was around 12 days prior to our embarkation that we received the first message from our specific Genie. We were on Allure and the email address was something like this: AL_RoyalGenie @ rccl.com

I saw this topic and because I love Serenade I thought I'd come and try to help.
Although I see you've been given great answers, I'm also realizing it's been 10 years this month since the last time I was on board. Ten years! Where does the time go?
Have a great cruise!

So, have have my wife, daughter, niece, sister and brother in law on this cruise with us, I was hoping to have a special dinner in our room for our daughters 18th B-day, were booked in a Sky Loft Suite and I know that the table set up is only for 4, I didn't know if they could do a set up for 6?
This sounds like something a Genie could arrange. I would mention it to your Genie at the earliest opportunity and see what they can come up with.

Chef, can you share any details on your experience with her? My wife and I are sailing with our MIL and 2 DD's.
I'm happy to share my experience.
Before we boarded, I wasn't sure what to expect with the Genie services. I learned quickly that she would act as a liaison on our behalf throughout the ship.
I already knew about the Genie being able to set up our schedule of dining and show reservations. I had also read on here that our suite Attendant would work closely together with our Genie as well. This was true in our experience and as a team, our wonderful Attendants and Genie made sure we were very well taken care of.
What I wasn't fully aware of, and what Marla let us know, was that she would be our advocate for just about anything else we wanted.
For example, after hearing that I had gone out and brought breakfast items and Starbucks coffee back to our suite the first morning, she let me know that it was her job to make sure things like that were done from then on. So the next morning and each morning after, she arranged for our favorite breakfast items, fresh squeezed juice, and Starbucks coffee be delivered at the same time each morning.
If we wanted dinner in the suite, she made all the arrangements for us.
She wanted us to call her any time we wanted anything.
She was absolutely fantastic and made sure our time onboard was as enjoyable and worry-free as possible.
Please feel free to ask me anything specific if you would like to know anything else.

Someone's ears must have been ringing, because literally 10 minutes after I posted this I got an email from our genie Marla!
Glad to hear you received it. Marla was our genie as well. She was great!

I got off Allure on September 18 and, although the in-suite movies weren't mentioned as a perk on the list of Star Class amenities we received, we did in fact watch a couple movies without incurring any charge

Passengers who have used Mixed Vaccination Protocols will not be considered to be Fully Vaccinated per RCI FAQs

Interesting discussion. For anyone wanting to see the earlier version of the now-modified FAQ, may I suggest the internet archive.
The old version was archived before it was modified and I also archived the current version for posterity.
https://web.archive.org/web/20210717151108/https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/what-vaccines-are-accepted
Going forward, when changes to the policy might not be as obvious, the archive also has a compare feature that will highlight any changes and might be helpful to those who want to track it closely.
Take care everyone.
