  1. Hey Andrew, I grew up not far from where you describe your home. A little more populous and forest-y than Stratford ;-).

I'll be following along here and the scopes.

Hopefully all of the 1500 or so folks that blew across the river into Canada the other day won't still be slowing things down at the border.

Watch out for the car-sized potholes on the Interstate on the way to the airport.

    Safe travels to you both.

  2. In a couple of weeks, we will be in the Star Class Owners Loft Suite w/ Balcony on the Allure. When should we expect the Genie to contact us? We haven't heard anything from the Genie. Also, we are Pinnacles. The SL Conierges haven't sent their welcome form letter, either. We are not high maintance cruisers, and we are disappointed we haven't heard anything.

We are sailing on Allure in a couple of weeks as well and we received the pre cruise Genie survey last Monday.

  3. Matt,

I was able to enlarge your photo from my ipad and here is what the bottles looked like.

    Thanks for that, DiamondSuiteCruiser!

Just for future reference, for anyone just curious or that might have sensitivity to scents, using the information you all provided I believe I've found each item on the L'Occitane website:

    Soap - http://usa.loccitane.com/shea-butter-extra-gentle-soap-milk,82,1,29193,262550.htm#s=29481

    Shower Gel - http://usa.loccitane.com/aromachologie-revitalizing-shower-gel,82,1,29249,604018.htm

    Shampoo - http://usa.loccitane.com/aromachologie-repairing-shampoo,82,1,29249,262843.htm#s=29453

    Conditioner - http://usa.loccitane.com/aromachologie-repairing-conditioner,82,1,29249,262836.htm#s=29454

Next time I'm in the city, I'll take mom to the L'Occitane store to have her check if the scents will be fine or if we'll have to make other arrangements.

Thanks again for the help everyone.

  4. So I went back and tried to blow up my original photo of the bottles in the bathroom. Unfortunately with my new iPhone those photos were taken in what's called live mode. Which is like mini six second movies. In case you want to animate a photo. So whenever I try to blow it up too far it starts playing little six second movie. So I can't read the labels any better. Sorry. All I can say is they were very pleasant scents in the shower. :-)

Thank-you Matt, I really appreciate the effort and the information.

  5. No sorry, but maybe rosemary or lavender.

Looking at the photo Matt posted (I think on pg 4) it looks like Repairing shampoo and conditioner, no sent given, and Revitalizing shower gel, rosemary & lavender scent.

Thank-you both very much. I couldn't seem to zoom in quite close enough on the picture Matt posted upthread in order to read the fine print on the bottles. My Mom says thanks, too. :-)

  6. A big thanks to Matt for starting this topic and everyone else who has also made it so informative and helpful.

I'll be boarding Allure in just under three weeks with my Mom and sister. We're all sharing a suite and they've asked me to find out some information for them.

Does anyone know what the specific scents are of the bath products from L'Occitane?

I started a new topic a couple days ago but so far haven't received any answer. Hopefully someone here can help.

    Many thanks!

  7. Good afternoon everyone, I'm hoping someone can help me since I can't seem to find what I need to know by doing a search.

We're going to be in a suite on our upcoming cruise on Allure and I have seen that they include bath products from L'Occitane.

Does anyone know what the specific scents are of the products that are usually supplied?

    Any info would be appreciated.

  8. Wow. I just noticed you brought this thread up from 2010...:D

I can't tell if you think digging up an older post is a good thing or a bad thing. :)

Personally, I think it's sad a good-natured topic like this ended up buried under the 3,245 alcohol smuggling, 1,143 dress code, and 979 smoking threads between today and the last time this topic was posted to. :) :) :)

Besides, my mother always told me it's better to add to an existing topic than to start a new one.

Looks like Mom was right...as always :)

Oh and I also wanted to thank Ocean Boy for his many contributions. I find his opinions on just about any subject helpful.

  9. 101 replies and still no picture of the basket? :(

    See post 15 :)

I'm with the OP on this. I brought up how stupid it was last year to give this and was chastised for it here. Not ungrateful, but good grief. Give me a free frozen drink or something, not this stupid thing

first picture is what it looks like wrapped up pretty.

    Second is the contents

  10. That is for the four of us including carry ons and only when we leave locally. Its an easy break down :). We each have one super large suitcase (4), the four of us go into 2 garment bags, 1 duffle for shoes and 1 duffle for toiletries, snorkel gear, ice skates and additional shoes and whatever else. [And, 4 carry ons. = 12] We always have 2 cabins, so storing them isnt an issue- they go right under the bed. I know 12 sounds ridiculous, lol but broken down, not so much.

I knew there had to be a good explanation :) I thought it was just your DH and you but with 4 it makes complete sense.

I took a large suitcase, my garment bag and a large camera bag on my Oasis B2B (11 nights total) in Dec. 2009. I ended up coming home with two additional bags because of everything I purchased on that cruise.

Thank goodness the upgrade to 1st class airfare (and the additional checked luggage allowance) was cheap or else I'd have paid more to get the bags home than it cost for my own seat on the flight.

    :)

  11. Yes, you can take a beach umbrella cuz I took a small one on the Explorer to Bermuda. I have blonde hair and green eyes and have two skin colors...fish belly white and fire engine red. I can get burnt sitting next to a light bulb but also LOVE the beach.

I KNEW I needed sun protection other than SPF 1000. My DH also loves the beach and can sit in the sun all day and NOT burn. I did NOT want to ruin my vacation by not being able to rent an umbrella and getting burnt to a crisp.

So by all means take the umbrella and don't worry about OTHER posters comments.

    Happy Cruising!

LOL...I love your descriptions...I am the same way...I am a shade seeker both on the ship and on the beach because of how easily I burn...

  12. I dont really know the one the OP has, but they take up very little space and are lightweight...

[disclaimer:This is just off the net and not me]

Plus, I can understand her point if she drives to the port. That is why we try to leave from the northeast on most of our cruises. DH says you cant beat the luxury from door to door. We have a driver pick us up, he handles all our baggage, then the porters take them from the limo, they're delivered to our cabin and reverse on disembarking. DH feels it is a luxury for him to not have to pick up and handle our 12 pieces of luggage [for a 2 week cruise, we dont take 12 pcs on a short 7 nighter, lol But, DH loves that he doesnt have to schlep anything]! lol

Again, we have never toted one with us.

Uh oh, I am intrigued now, lmao @ me!

    http://sklz.ca/soccer/sport-brella.aspx

The one in that pic looks quite manageable and I could see why some might want to bring their own if they are similar to the one shown.

On a slightly different note... CDNJ...12 bags?!? I'm totally not questioning the need or anything but wow, that's a lot of luggage to bring along  I can appreciate the appeal of being able to drive to your port of departure... :)

  13. Are these rooms actually any larger than the other staterooms? How is the view out the window? The window itself is sloped, so does this affect the view at all?

The best I can describe the spacious feel would be to tell you to imagine a regular OV room then take the forward-facing wall and push the bottom of the wall forward (maybe 3 or 4 feet). The floor space was increased but because the wall is sloped it's not really completely usable floor space (i hope that make sense) It did make the room feel much larger.

The whole wall, windows and all, are at the same angle, and the view was out over the bow of the ship and to the water ahead of the ship.
