We were there a few years ago on a land tour We took the train out. Beautiful journey. And at the final stop we took a HoHo bus. Then went for a hike through the forest. It was a lovely day out We just looked up all the trains ect. Very easy to do

We have flights booked on air NZ in October returning from Auckland to Vancouver
sorry I should say that’s with EZEair. I thought I was on the Princess boards but it’s the carnival group so I don’t think there should be any difficulty

Unless the rules are different when arriving by ship you don’t need a test to enter Spain.

You don't need the prescription.
The fee is for the doctor who will evaluate the medical complaint and treat as necessary (might include a OTC or Rx drug).
Pretty reasonable charge considering what it might cost for an evaluation in a clinic in the US. Or what those visiting Canadá and not covered by our health care would have to pay here

One more question. We are all fully vaxed and boosters. Did you have to fill out the form from the Spanish government beforehand or what did you do in preparation. I know we have to do a test three days before cruise which we will do upon arrival in Barcelona
Just fill in the Spanish health form and you get a QR code that you show at the airport. We printed off copies as it’s sometimes easier than fiddling with the phone
we had to show them in Pearson too

We flew Air transat to Barcelona last month. We did have to connect in Montreal. We had no problems at the airport in Toronto but because of the connection we were at the airport earlier than a direct flight. (I believe it was around 3pm). We managed to get a very good price on club class going out so had a very comfy outgoing flight. On return we had a 2 together seat with lots of leg room and that was fine for a daytime flight. Because we passed through immigration in Montreal we had no issues with long lines but our flight was delayed half an hour because of holdups in Toronto
enjoy Barcelona. We have been often. This was our second trip to Spain in 5 months.

So for proof of vaccination, were you able to just upload a copy of your Ontario vaccination record?
Thank you
Yes. Very simple

Just returned in the last few days. You need to fill in the Spanish health from and that’s it Very easy to fill in Way easier than having to worry about getting a PCR test to return as we did in November

well that just gives me food for thought. If carrying USA passengers, then have the medicine that is allowed for them too.
Me thinks some of the medical facilities are a joke perhaps.
As a previous member of Hal’s medical staff I really am ticked off by this statement.

My basic opinion is that for this season I will avoid travel to Canada, regardless of who is to blame for the issues (meaningless to me who is creating the problems, they do exist and I try to avoid them).
I think you may have to avoid travel to any other country that requires a flight back to the US as that is the requirement to fly back into the US as far as I understand

They don’t do anything special for 1st July either. Canada day I guess it would be too complicated to honour every country’s national holidays

Anxiously waiting to see if our Vancouver to,Auckland cruise will go ahead in September. Disappointed Bora Bora has been removed from the itinerary. We will make our final decision around final payment time at the end of may
-
We have a transpacific cruise booked for September ending in NZ. We booked it over a year ago thinking countries would be open by the time we cruise. Now we are anxiously waiting to see if cruising will return to NZ but haven’t see anything to say it’s a go yet. Final payment is at the end of may so we have some time and we’ll see how it’s looking then

Someone has to stir the pot😁
In Cobourg , there is only place to get testing at $40 a pop,
walmart does not do testing in Cobourg , even the closest Costco doesn’t do testing
Hopefully by Mid April they drop all testing
Costco in Peterborough do travel testing. I noticed when we were there last week

Very common insurance benefit in Canadá as long as it is a registered massage therapist I.e. done a specified 2 year training and registered with their professional college. I think most of the message therapists on the ships are estheticians but I may be wrong.

Sorry for the click-baitish title. It's to appease the Youtube gods.
I wouldn't say so much that I was kicked off the ship, but I wasn't given the option to stay. I understand it was the best thing for me but there were a lot of considerations in my mind at the time.
To stay on the ship, yes there was a considerable risk of septic shock without a full trauma center resource onboard. After the IV, I did feel stable and wasn't in much pain (although probably from the drugs). We were well outside the range of a helo from the US mainland and the next day was a sea day enroute to Nassau.
To be disembarked in the DR, a lot more unknowns at play. How good was the hospital? How safe is the area? Does anybody speak English? Where is my wife going to stay? Where is my wife going to eat? How safe was it for my wife to be alone transiting around? If this goes bad, how long would I have to stay there?
Given the choice, I still would've rolled the dice to stay onboard at my own risk. At least I would know and trust in my wife's safety and well-being. It came down to a bad choice versus a worse choice.
I understand that you were feeling better but if you had got sepsis your life would have been in danger and they have limited staff and resources to keep a patient in the clinic. Some of the ships I worked on only had 2 nurses and one would have to stay up all night with the other been on call for all other emergencies and running the clinic during the day. It’s a decision no one likes if they are feeling better but I think it was the right one and it worked out well for you. I hope you have trouble free cruising in future and no recurrence. Very interesting to see the follow up as we sometimes didn’t hear what happened to medically disembarked patients

Thank goodness you had adequate insurance. Until I retired I worked as a nurse on a cruise line in between my ER job here and we, as staff, couldn’t believe the number of people who came onboard with no insurance -at all. They soon found out what a mistake that was, even one night in the ICU could run Intothe thousands depending on the treatment. And it has to be paid upfront and if they had insurance it could be claimed back. . I do have a little bit of trouble with the phrase “kicked off” the ship. Obviously the treatment you needed could not be done onboard and they facilitated what you needed. The cruise line I worked for had onshore care coordinators who remain in contact with the guest and the port agents are usually extremely helpful. The hospitals at each port have been previously checked out to make sure they are of adequate standard. Obviously they may not be up to the standard of US or Canadian hospitals but as I say when you need more care than the onboard facilities can offer it is the wisest choice to make Glad you’re feeling better

I am really excited to be booked on this cruise with Princess in the Fall of 2022. Bit disappointed that Bora Bora is no longer accepting large cruise ships, but I will just have to make do with the other South Pacific Islands that I have never been to 😁I believe the only way to get to Bora Bora on a cruise ship now is on one of the smaller, luxury cruise ships, likely having to fly into Papeete.
enjoy!
We too are in a transpacific on the Grand Princess in the fall. Very disappointed that Bora Bora is now cancelled. It was one of the main reasons we chose this cruise. However we did a 10 day on the old Tahitian Princess a few years ago and happy we had that experience. I just hope that NZ will be open to cruise ships in October. We’ll watch and see

Just a warning re the orange SIM cards available on Amazon. We have been in Spain for a month returning tomorrow. The orange cards have to be registered if using them for longer than 2 weeks. It was impossible to register them. I got texts every day telling me to register. I tried at least x4 and it would say I was successful and an text would be sent confirming. Never got one until the 12th day saying I was registered followed by a text telling me to register. On the 14th day all my considerable data was cancelled and because we needed the data to navigate etc I had to top up at considerable extra expense. And the website was incredibly frustrating to use. Never again. I’ll wait till I get to my destination to buy although the Uk one sounds good

We wore KN95s to travel to Europe this month they were certainly a tight fit and not very comfortable so we did as hiltner did and put lighter masks on in the plane. We will do the same on our return journey in 2 weeks. Haven’t cruised yet, here in Spain on a land holiday but pleased to see that adherence to mask wearing is the same as in Canada

I’m sorry I can’t. We changed our internet provider and I lost all my notes. We bought a 5 day transport ticket that covered buses, ferries and trains and boy did we use it. I think we took a bus to the station. . I’m away this weekend. When I get back I’ll go through my diary and see what we did.
