I think there is a big difference when a large group of people are carrying bottles and glasses into the theater compared to being served by a waiter. Would you do this going into a Broadway or West End Show? in the many Cunard cruises I have never seen or heard of this, I see sometimes in the buffet someone wearing a gown from there cabin, if everyone carried on like that the place would be chaos. You pay for the boxes but the issue is in the general seating area not the boxes.
Don't know about Broadway, but every West End Show allows you to take alcoholic drinks into the Theatre. We have been on QM2 twice and took drinks into theatre with no complaints as we have done on many other cruise lines.

We are also on 7th Oct sailing, however we will be in US for 3 weeks before joining Queen Mary, the last 5 days in NY, so will wait to the last minute before booking covid test as things may well change by then.

You are not allowed to walk in the port area. A free shuttle bus is provided from the ship to the port entrance, takes only a couple of minutes

Thanks BigMac1953, for the quick reply.

Looking into whether drinks package is worth it on our transatlantic next year, can any one tell me if the $12 limit per drink includes the 15% service charge. Thanks , Dennis

It is not just on the US site, after choosing cabin on UK site there is no continue button either.
Finally got continue button about mid day today😊 Booked a 5 night trip to Hamburg and Cherbourg in March in the same sheltered balcony stateroom( same price as an inside cabin!) as we have booked transatlantic from New York Oct. 2022.

Same here when I take a look at the Cunard US website. It appears to be possible to book the previously announced voyages, but there's an issue with the new voyages that went on sale today. I can get as far as selecting a cabin, but then I don't see the "Continue" button to proceed any further with booking those new voyages on the US website.
Looks like anyone wishing to book those new voyages today in the US will need to do so via the phone, especially when I can't find the new voyages listed yet on any of the US cruise booking websites that I routinely check.
Fortunately I'm not looking to book today. I'm just window shopping for now. Just thought I'd pass along what I'm seeing in case it helps anyone else in the US who's running into similar issues.
It is not just on the US site, after choosing cabin on UK site there is no continue button either.

You might want to revisit this decision when you are able to book flights about 11 months out. I think you will find a single fare to Boston will be very much more than £200! You can book a deviation flight with your Transatlantic voyage, some more distant cities with a premium, but it does not matter when you travel. We have done this many times to gateway cities in the USA, Boston amongst them.
If you have booked with Cunard direct there will be no problem adding a flight at the end of this year when available; not sure how helpful a travel agent might be.
You have a wonderful trip to look forward to; whilst in Boston make sure you find time to visit the JFK library, which is easy to get to and just outside the city. Your effort will not be wasted. (jfklibrary.org)
Thanks LadyL1 for information about flights. I have booked direct with Cunard so will look into it nearer the time

Thanks for all the replays, have now booked October 7th 2022 transatlantic from New York, Deck 5 sheltered balcony (5217)on starboard side. Got a £200 per person reduction for not taking their flight as we are looking to fly to Boston a couple of weeks earlier and doing the fall foliage before taking train to New York.

Thanks all for replying so quickly, will get on to my travel agent today

I am looking to travel on QM2 from New York to Southampton on October 7th. 2022. According to the Cunard website, there are only 2 sheltered balcony cabins left and only about half a dozen balcony cabins left. Can this really be true so far in advance?. Also I am looking to fly from UK to Boston 2 weeks before sailing. Does any one know if you can get a flight credit for flying into a different airport. Cunard's fare for UK passengers includes flights but you get no discount if you opt out of their flight.

Last time we sailed from Southampton with Fred we were allowed to use our own wheelchair to get on board but it was then immediately taken off us and stored till we needed it in port. Each person with their own wheelchair was given a coloured tag, one colour for those who could keep their wheelchair on board and a different colour for those with wheelchairs that were to be stored. Wheelchair users were allowed on first.

Thanks for your answers everybody, I guess it is my own fault for not noticing the default was set for 2 passengers:halo:

Am I missing something or does Cunard not show the price of single cabins on their web page. No matter how far in advance I look I can never find them.. Or is it the case they sell out as soon as they go on sale.

Some photos of Superior Suite on Balmoral. The window opposite the wardrobe is in the Bathroom and overlooks the living room, very strange. If you get the chance to upgrade to a Premium Suite, you get a huge walk in wardrobe, but I can't remember what was behind sliding glass doors in Superior Suite.

Got the 2017/18 worldwide brochure today. Does anyone know why Boudicca's cruises only show as far as Sept. 2017 but the other 3 ships show cruises into 2018.

Cheers for linc Colo Cruiser, missed that thread.

8:30 tonight on ITV in UK 'The Cruise' a 6 part documentary about life for the crew aboard The Regal Princess .

Also , I believe, all cruise ships have to have enough lifeboats/liferafts to accommodate all passengers and crew on each side of the ship so if they cannot be launched on one side there will still be enough room for everyone on the other side. Though getting into a liferaft in such conditions would be nigh on impossible I should think.

My sister lives in Lanzarote, she mentioned a new Marina that has been built called Marina Lanzarote with restaurants, cafes and shops. Slightly upmarket but worth a visit. Looking at google maps, it is about 3 miles from cruise terminal. Here is a link to a you tube vidio http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJ2EjymeOsM

We have had several full suites on P and O ships, and always wonder why people want to go to a restaurant for breakfast when all you have to do is arrange (the night before) for your butler to deliver whatever you want to your suite at whatever time you want it. You want 3 sausages, 2 slices of bacon, half a dozen mushrooms he will deliver, on balcony or in room.

Yes, it is!
I don't think there's been any cruise ships in City berth lately, but with any luck they should appear to the right of the screen. :)
It's only operational Mon-Fri, 8 am -6 pm too by the look of it.
If you put the webcam on full screen, you can just about see a small corner of Anthem of the Seas in top right hand corner!

They still had Godiva afternoon tea on our TA in October last year. Book on board. We were the only ones there when we went, very nice it was too.
