  1. Hi Bruce,

I had word from our TA today re Vietnam visa. They said: " I have been advised by the wholesaler that your Vietnam visa will actually be issued on board your cruise. You will just need to take one passport sized photograph with you. Please note that the cost of the visa is included in the attached pricings.

Laughed at your name for the casino..............

Also, have put the word out on some other boards for info on Kota Kinabalu and Kuching. (hope that's kosher to say here....) Have found out where we dock at KK. If you Google Earth, you will see the port at the northern end of town, and it doesn't look that far into town. Kuching looks a reasonable distance from the sea, on a river. From my investigations so far, the orang utan experience may be better in Kuching. Will keep you posted. Wonder if any other posters have thoughts on this one??

WRX712, have fun, not long to go now, your enthusiasm is contagious. Don't forget to post your thoughts when you return. Bon voyage.

    Regards,

    Tracey.

  2. You will need to check with your TA, but I believe that in Vietnam if you take the Gemini organized tours they have arranged for some sort of bulk Visa which is covered in the cost of your Cruise, however if you want to do your own thing, you will need to organize your own Visas before you go, anyway I would talk to your TA they may be able to assist or even organize, they can cost about $60-70 each.

We have sent away (via our TA) for a multi entry Vietnam visa, which I think everyone on this cruise needs. The cost is covered in the cruise price, but it is up to us to get it. We needed application form (supplied by TA) and a passport size photo.

    Tracey. :D

  3. Hi everyone,

I was wondering how far it is into the main town/city from where the Gemini docks in the following places?? It will help decide what we do when we get there, not keen on travelling for hours to get somewhere once in port, unless it's exceptional. Also, any advice on "must see" would be appreciated. Historical, cultural, shopping.

Singapore (be there for a week)

    Ko Samui

    Bangkok

    Ho Chi Min

    Da Nang

    Nha Trang

    Ha Long Bay

    Hong Kong

    Kota Kinabalu

    Kuching

    Thanks, Tracey.

  4. Hi,

I see there has been much discussion regarding laundering of clothes on the Gemini. I don't have a problem washing out smalls and hanging them in our cabin, but I've never used a laundry service before. It might seem like a dumb question, but do you have to name tag the clothes you send to be washed??

Also, we will probably stay at the Parkroyal on Coleman St in Singapore pre-cruise. Any thoughts?

If the Gemini departs at 1800 hours, what time might boarding begin?

    Thanks, Tracey. :p

  5. Hi BJ and Mrs C,

We are currently planning a cruise on the Gemini departing Singapore May 20, 2007. We hope to do the full round trip. Tried to find the Roll Call page, but I'm new at this, so will keep looking. I think it's a great idea to 'meet' some fellow cruisers before departure.

Mike, your info so far has been very helpful, thanks.
