    Interesting!

The first person in pays a real high fee then as more people show up the fee goes down.

There will be a big line outside the beach waiting to be last.

The way I understood it be is akin to 'Limited Access'. Only a certain preset number of guests per area allowed. Once the preset number is reached, the area is considered sold out. Thus, enhancing the sales strategy 'fear of loss' and thus increasing the demand.

A Monte Carlo Casino is one in which what we would consider traditional games of chance such as Poker, Blackjack, Baccarat and Craps are played.

This makes them distinct from Japan or Macau style Casino's where card based games are rarer,  and the scope of the gambling is much wider.

    Thank you for the explanation.

  3. My wife and I will be on Oosterdam soon and she has heard that dressy jeans with nice tops and dress shoes are ok for dining room on regular nights.  We dress up for formal nights, but heard the Alaska cruises are a little less formal.  Please advise.  Thanks in advance.

  4. Wouldn't put it past CCL.

DW and I are on Horizon for a B2B over Thanksgiving.

Would normally expect the Thanksgiving cruise to be nearly fully booked by now.

However, a quick look the available cabins for both legs revealed a higher than expected vacancy rate.

That coupled with the average to lower than average reviews of their newest ship sets an under achieving revenue generation forward looking tone.

(Not to mention the reduced benefits for booking a cloud 9 cabin).

Thus, alternatives or course corrections for generating revenue would normally be considered in this situation, specially when H&R staff as well as ships Sr. Staff are evaluated on achieving revenue goals and a portion of their compensation directly tied to achieving the goals.

  5. Good Morning To All,

DW and I are going on a B2B Horizon vacation during Nov'18 in an interior room. We have noticed the lack of storage in the rooms while watching various You Tube videos. We are thinking of purchasing some small collapsible storage bins for the shelves. For anyone who has sailed on the Horizon in an interior room, would you remember the approx. foot print size of 3 shelves off the corner of one counter, and the closet having shelving space and 3 draws? Thanks in advance.

  6. DW and I booked a B2B on Horizon covering the Thanksgiving period (Nov 11& Nov17) over a year ago and have watched the prices for all cabins increase time and time again. Pays to book in advance. Lock in your choice of cabin, vacation dates for planning, and get low prices.

  7. DW and I booked an interior room (#7324) for a B2B cruise on the Horizon via the Early Saver fares about a year ago.

Last night we were watching You-Tube reviews of the Horizon interior rooms and were surprised by the size (small) of the room, and what appears as only one wardrobe closet for the room, rather than the two closets on board other Carnival ships we have been on....and the overall lack of storage/shelving/closet space.

Does anyone out there have any first hand experience with the Horizons interior rooms?

We are interested in your thoughts and impressions.

    Thank you in advance.

  8. Greetings to all 'Friends of the Pride',

DW and I will soon be on the Pride-19Nov.

We have two questions Davids' Steak House on the day of departure...

Q1) - Is the Steak house open for Dinner Service on the departure day (1st night)?

Q2) - Does Carnival offer any discounts for 1st night dinning at Davids'?

    Thank in advance.

    Jim and Cammie
