Does anyone know if the laundry room and the pool on the Pursuit have now been re-opened, as passengers were hoping when they embarked?

Thanks a lot!

If we don’t t activate our 90 minute free internet and decide to take the internet package mid-cruise, can we still use the Discoverer 50% reduction? Also, can you use more than one device at different times?

Just to let you know I'm sending loads of positive energy your way. Fingers crossed 🤞 for your interview and good luck 🍀 with the house repairs. This, too, will pass! Morven

I really had to laugh today, when my daughter sent me a photo of Penguin Biscuits from Seydisfjordur Coop with the comment “Childhood memories 😋”. So Yvonne, your father is not alone in his yearnings! My mother sent me a supply of Penguins regularly by post from Scotland to Germany for over 20 years!😂 During family holidays with our children, their favourite aunt in Scotland always had plenty of Penguins and Clubs! I had not mentioned your comments to my daughter, nor had she read your postings on Cruise Critic, so the coincidence was striking!

I can reassure you as to your decision not to do the Loen Lift with the weather such as it was on arrival. I looked at the webcam from the summit several times throughout the day and was really sorry for the people who had ventured up. It was cloudy and misty, the view was only a grey and white silhouette of the brilliant colours and marvellous contours on a clear, sunny day. My husband and I were lucky on our cruise some years ago enjoyed walking the wonderful tracks which leave from the lift, offering truly spectacular views. Something to look forward to on another cruise!😀 To judge by your photos, I assure you that you definitely made the right choice on the day.

I am enjoying your posts very much. Our daughter boarded the Star in Tromsø, but unfortunately didn’t have time to register with Cruise Critic beforehand. She keeps us up to date via Whatsapp though. I hope you have a wonderful time on Iceland… and better luck than with Lerwick! Morven

I do hope this has been initiated before we board Noordam for the Transpacific in April.
The Rotterdam certainly had a good library when we cruised to Norway last August.

Thanks for the suggestion! That's definitely worth a try, and I'll be requesting my stockholder credit there in any case, so not much extra effort involved!

Has anyone outside the USA, for example in Europe, ever received an offer of either upgrade or upsell from HAL? An international phone call would be expensive. Does anyone know of an e-mail address for the PCC Desk?

Our grandson has lactose intolerance. Is lactose-free milk readily available on HA ships?

Hi from Germany! So happy for you... and indeed for all the excited followers. We went to bed last night (European time!) not knowing the outcome. So as a special celebration I have chilled a bottle of Randersackerer Ewig Leben Silvaner to have with lunch. It is one of our best local wines, and the name means „Eternal Life“, so we thought it was somehow appropriate for a toast! Thank you to one and all of you. This thread has been such a source of sunshine in those dark Corona times. All four of our children and their spouses are overworked medics, so reading about this wave of humanity helped to lift our spirits .... and to think I only found the thread by chance because we cancelled our cruise with HA from Amsterdam to the Norwegian Fjords. I do hope we meet up with some of you sometime in the future once we can look forward to cruising again! Enjoy some precious time with your parents, Kindergirl....

@Kindergirl best wishes ❤️ , I've been following but not commenting. I hope everything goes smoothly for you and your parents!
I guess many of us, from all over the world (I live in Bavaria, Germany) have been following without commenting, since we knew there was no way we could help. I have been touched by the amount of humanity on display. It gives me hope for society in this very difficult time. Take care, all of you wonderfully kind people. I have my fingers firmly crossed for a safe homecoming for all the passengers, and of course especially for the two elderly parents and their special daughter!

We intend to take the bus to the Botanical Gardens from the corner of V. Carranza and Aguacate. Where would be the best place to get off the bus which comes to Centro from the Cruise Port? Roughly how long will it take us to walk between bus stops? I'd be grateful for guidance, since I have not been able to determine where the bus from the port stops along the way. Thanks!

Is the OBC compatible with Shareholder Credit? Or does that get deducted?

Getting a ship underway is not like turning the key in your car. Getting enough power on line for propulsion, and then getting propulsion/thrusters on line can take 5-10 minutes in an emergency. At first, the crew would be concentrated on getting more mooring lines out, while the engineers were getting the power up, but the crew needed for mooring are not just standing around waiting to handle lines, they will be doing other jobs and will need time to get to the mooring stations. Then, once the lines let go, they worked to get the anchor down, which they succeeded doing.
Thanks for this information, which helps to put things into perspective. Sorry so many people had a stressful end to their cruise. I hope you all managed to get home safely!

Hi! I will be on the MSC Lirica on Nov. 2nd and we dock in Aqaba, Jordan on Nov. 9th The ship apparently has no planned excursions that I can see, (which is ok with me, as they are too expensive for me and too large, usually). The roll call for the cruise is very small and it also seems no one is interested in forming a group for a private tour guide to Petra. So my problem is that I need to find a reasonably priced way to get there, get a tour and get back to my ship! I know that it's a 2 hr-ish trip and that gas is expensive. I also know it costs 72USD to get into Petra. But the cheapest quote for 2 people I have found is 250USD per person. 235 for 4 people. Does anyone know if there are cheaper options..? I would be happy to hook on to another tour, but am afraid to not have someone outside the port waiting for me, as our timeline is tight! 10:00 to 6:00! Any advice will be appreciated. Thank you in advance. Mary
You might like to look at the Wonders Travel and Tourism site. They have an excellent offer for Petra from your ship for 135$ per person. Yaseen has been extremely helpful ... our trip is on November 17th.

As far as I know, it is only available to Emirates flight ticket holders who don’t have the benefit of the complimentary chauffeur-drive service... Just make sure the driver of whatever service you book drops you at the correct terminal when you get to Dubai - for Lufthansa that should be Terminal 1...
Anne...
Thanks again, Anne. I have downloaded the Careem App and logged in. But am I correct in thinking that I can only order the car when I am ready to go? Or is there a way to book in advance? Can you give me a rough idea of the price I should expect to pay, and will traffic be very heavy in the early evening of the Formula 1 last day? Thanks a lot!

Which airline will you be flying out of Dubai? If it’s Emirates they have a check-in facility in Abu Dhabi with coach transfer to Dubai International Airport. If not then I would book a transfer either with Al Ghazal Transport or with Careem (similar to Uber) which you can book online if you download the App... Personally, I wouldn’t just take a town taxi from the cruise terminal...
Anne...
Thanks for your advice, Anne. We are travelling home to Germany with Lufthansa, so unfortunately we probably can't use the Emirates coach transfer. Or is it possible to book it and pay for it, obviously without using the check-in facility?
