  1. Good morning everyone,

Just wondering how you guys felt about no overhang on the balcony? Booked a balcony on the spa deck and reading here, I see there is no overhang on those rooms, thoughts? Also of the spa deck in general?

  2. Have you checked with your ship's excursions?

Maybe they have one to St. John from the ship so you won't have to do the horrid taxi ride to Red Hook.

I saw that Carnival had the catamaran that sounded like it might be fun, but reading here on the boards I didn't see too many positive experiences. I do have to take into consideration the taxi ride and the ferry , just to make sure we have plenty of time to get back.

  3. Hi everyone, does any one know of the name of this little spot, that sells milkshakes with rum? On our way back from Magens Bay , our driver pulled to the side of the road and told us these were the best milkshakes. I have to agree,I ordered banana, coconut with rum. It's a little walk up window, nowhere to sit that I can remember, but really good. Would definitely like to go back. We've been to Mountain Top before and I liked the daiquiris, but there was just something about these milkshakes..:p:rolleyes:;)

  4. Hard to find a nice beach with amenities and not too crowded to enjoy. But the beaches of STJ are gorgeous and it's a good opportunity to go there for a day.

The most popular way to get to Cruz Bay, STJ is on your own via taxi to Red Hook (20 - 30 min) and the 20 min ferry to Cruz. Total cost is about $34pp roundtrip. Taxis will be lined-up for the beach and it's $6 - 7pp each way (+$4 entry if going to Trunk).

Trunk Bay is where the vast majority will head because there are amenities and a snorkel path and it's a nice beach so it's the obvious choice. We'd continue on to Cinnamon Bay to find a hopefully smaller crowd but still with amenities.

Great shopping in Cruz bay, nice small shops and not as hectic as Charlotte Amalie. Beautiful Hook bracekets at St John Bracelets near the ferry dock, he can custom make one for you while you're at the beach!

If you decide the time getting to a beach on STJ is too long for your short day in port (about 3 hrs in total travel time vs 1 hr for the East End of STT) consider Secret Harbor on the East End. Many people never even "discover" the beautiful beaches of the East End of STT. For a more lively vibe with amenities look at Coki, a gorgeous little gem!

Thank you for taking the time to respond..would definitely like to escape the bustle for a bit..we will just have to figure it out with our time constraints, but to get a little taste would be nice..thanks again

  5. You can try Zip lining at Torro Verde, http://toroverdepr.com/en/.

Or, rent jet skis and see Puerto Rico from a different vantage point, http://gosurfpr.com/index.php/rentals.

If you're still lost for something different, give Luis a call from VIP Luxury Transportation and Tours. We used them last month for our transportation while we were in San Juan, their service is exceptional!!!! http://viplimopr.com.

Thank you! Zipling is something I would love to try. That was on my list to look into. Awesome! Thanks

  6. Good Afternoon everyone,

Wanted to get some opinions on how to get to St. John's, or experiences you enjoyed and recommend. We will be in St. Thomas on Wednesday May 7, from 10-6. We have previously have taken tours with Godfrey's and Sunny Liston. Both were good, but really enjoyed Sunny. So since we have done the tour thing twice, and shopping to me at this port is pretty repetitive, I would like to try something new. I'm good with a total beach day, snorkeling :D so any advice on what I would do once we arrive? I know we have to catch the ferry, but where would you go? Good snorkeling, food, nice beach, relaxation, bathroom facilities?

    Thank you!

  7. Hi everyone..was looking for suggestions for something different to do in San Juan. This will be our 4th time here, and we have gone to El Morro and have also done the tour with one of the vans parked outside of the cruise terminal. We also have just walked around window shopped and grabbed a bite to eat at some nice little places. We want to mix it up a bit and try something we haven't done, or see something we haven't seen. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance! :)

  8. I would like to know the price too? We were there in 2011 and there was no water toys. Jack Shack was kid friendly. The kids had fun just playing in the water it was not rough at all. The drinks were good as well as the jerk chicken.

  9. Hi Everyone..:)

Starting to do my research for a hotel in South beach Prior to our cruise departure. We are coming in two days early and looking for a hotel that is close to everything (especially the beach) and is a good deal. I've been reading trip adviser and can't seem to narrow it down..any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
