Generally if you are going in and out of a port you will see on the way in on the port side what you see out on way out on the starboard and vice verca.
The one port I would flag as being important to consider the side your cabin is on is Venice if you are only leaving from or only arriving there. If only leaving you want to be on the port side and if only arriving you want to be on the starboard side. Also consider that if you are planning to take a cabin that is low down on the starboard side you may get a degree of cigarette smoke as many ships seem to assign part of the starboard promenade deck as a smoking area for some reason.
Could not agree more. Normally the ship is to far from shore. But the Venice is most spectacular departure I have seen.

My thoughts - like a promenade with a view. I enjoy morning walks seeing the horizon. Shouldn't be a touchy subject, in my view.

My experience was different. Small martins were limited at the martini bar to the first day. Also, I thought the premium drinks were limited to $11 - the same price as the martini bar drinks.

Not sure if it is the same in Europe, but we received a 'transit' pass in San Juan. Skipped the customs lines and left just like a port day. When you return, ask where to go. You will skip the check in lines and go to someone who will hand you your new sea pass. Do not go with the masses in their lines.

I recently booked through a distant TA. Overall I paid less than the Celebrity site price. $1600 pp total compared to $1650 plus taxes. My invoice states approx $1200 plus $400 in fees and taxes - unusually high fees and taxes. Does this seem to be a ploy to avoid price decreases? Anyone else experience this.

I certainly made sure that Marko was 'extra' compensated at the Martini Bar at the end of our cruise. He went above and beyond for us. Sure - 15% is just fine and nothing else needed. But, if you have that one special bartender...no harm in rewarding them and I think they certainly appreciate it.
Tip or don't tip 'extra' - your call. Just enjoy the package :)
Marko was great for us on the Summit in October. Tip early in your cruise for greatest benefit. We would show up at the martini bar in a crowd, and without a wait had a drink in front of us! And pre-dinner, that Martini bar is busy!

I don't believe you need a day pass to go to the bar or restaurant at the Island House. I think for the price of the day pass you get a locker, which in theory would make the clothing optional activities available. Also, I seem to remember the garden bar at the Bourbon House opens earlier than 11. There is also another Cuban restaurant in KW that I think is good - Havana One. It is less crowded than El Siboney, includes an art gallery, and I feel less rush there.

This was not my experience. The only difference I had was Geyser v. Evian. Not size.
