LOL, Will & Linda were friends we made on our first cruise. I'm sure he found it very amusing to find Kim and I prominently in this review, even if his spell check botched my name. ;-)

Lots of people are going to be prominent in my Breeze review... some of them may find themselves turning red in the face when they see their photos. lol. :-) You and Kim are the biggest highlight of this one so you should feel all special n stuff. :-P

There were over 100 passengers (some of whom said they don't even have user name accounts on CC) who stopped us on the Breeze and knew us by name just because of our photos and review of the Dream. I felt like a mini celebrity. lol. It was nuts! I am so glad still that everyone loved it so much. I never anticipated such a warm reception!

Hey everyone! So sorry, I haven't been on CC in a while. I am swamped with work. This is busy season for us wedding photographers in Florida. :-) Only 2 weeks (less than) before I sail away on the Breeze and I haven't even been on my roll call in months! Nor do I have a single thing planned excursion wise. I don't even have time to breathe! I'll write you all back individually soon! Thanks for continuing to follow my review everyone! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I was worried that this *spoiler* would ruin it for me, but now I am even MORE excited. And I didn’t think that was possible. LOL I am departing on the Carnival Freedom on 9/22 (just 2 weeks away… yesss!!!!) and have already received a confirmation for the Chef’s Table. My mom is a picky eater and I am grateful that she can see the menu ahead of time. Your descriptions, the pictures… just priceless! Thanks again!

Alicia thank you for taking the time to do this review. I know I'm late to the party, and I've only gotten to page seven (hey, a girl's got to get some sleep!), but I'm really enjoying it so far. Glad to hear good things about Dolpinaris too, DH and I will be there in less than 2 weeks!

Your photos are simply amazing! Absolutely breathtaking! Your vacation photos make my wedding photos look like they were shot by a toddler :p

Glad you are loving the review! Enjoy Dolphinaris.. it was a blast for us. We stayed until most people left and then the trainers had to do special stuff with the Dolphins and we got more time to see them do tricks and play around (hence the awesome photos that I got.) I think they are amazing creatures and I could watch them every day. I definitely think we got our moneys worth between the time spent in our interaction with them and the time we got to see them do additional tricks at the end. Plus the lunch was quite tasty!

Great Review...just read it from start to finish, even though I found it only because I was looking for info on the Cloud 9 Spa. A friend of mine and I are booked on the Carnival Sunshine (the Destiny after a 155 million 49 day dry dock refurbishing) and we just upgraded to a spa balcony. Looking forward to enjoying it like you did. If you want to kick up your cruise day numbers this is a 14 day cruise on April 12, 2013. Venice - Barcelona with amazing ports! First sailing on the "new" ship! And...there has been two price drops this week! You would be fun to hang with. My friend and I go to the same church as you but don't go to church together...lol! Your pictures were AMAZING!!! Thanks for your great review.

Hey there! Firstly, you'll love the spa! Just a little over 2 months left before I will be taking in the spa again for myself. Ahhh it's a little slice of heaven! :-)

As I just mentioned to another poster, I don't think I will be booking a cruise in 2013 but of course, that could change.

Yes, maybe! :-) Do you have anything booked for 2013 yet? We want to book a cruise, plus go to Bar Harbor, ME for a week... so we'll work on organizing that once we're back from this vacation ;)

 

Also, it was me who sent you an email a few weeks ago asking you tons of questions (especially about the photography aspect of things)... you had written back asking who I was. Just an FYI :)

 

I sail on the Dream in 50 days. Yay!

We actually don't have a 2013 cruise planned yet. I don't know if we'll book one or not for 2013. There are a couple of vacations I've been wanting to take where I can spend more time in one place and truly take it all in. (Africa, Italy, Hawaii, Egypt...etc.) So my plan is to look into the financial aspects of these things and see if I can do one of them in 2013. :-)

As for your email, I apparently have lost it in the sea of other emails. And don't know how to search for it since I don't have your info. Would you mind terribly sending it to me again? Since it's my work email, I occasionally take a while to get back to people on non work related stuff, especially when it's something I have to take time to think about (and I think yours was.) :-)

I just booked the Chef's Table on the Carnival Dream yesterday! I emailed this review to my partner - hopefully she agrees with me that it will be wonderful :D. We sail on 10/13... and I cannot wait!!!

Awesome.. so glad he linked you! First cruises are the best because you're so filled with anticipation and everything will be enticing your sensors on full overload. While my first cruise may not have been the best technically, it was def. the best emotionally because it just seemed so epic! :-)

HI ! I just had to reply to your review! We are taking our first ever cruise to Cozumel onboard the Dream and I was looking at all the negative reviews and getting a little scared...I read yours and I am sooooo excited! I love all of the pics. The dolphin ones are great! Can you tell me, did you do the dolphin experience that Carnival offered? We have already scheduled our Roatan tour with Victor Bodden :) Thanks for any help!

The dolphin encounter was the only thing we booked directly through Carnival on this particular cruise. After we went to Dolphinaris, I realized that for like $40 more each we could have booked directly through the resort and been trainers for a day and had way more time in the water with the dolphins. So, if I were to do this again, I would directly get in touch with Dolphinaris and see what packages are available.

Dolphinaris is a very short and cheap taxi ride away from the port. Less than a couple minutes drive.

Thanks for your review. I have just read it for the second time. Love the photo's, and all the photography tips. I find Photoshop scary, and only use Lightroom, however you have inspired me to take the time to try and learn how to edit in Photoshop.

 

If all goes to plan, we will be sailing on the Dream next year.

I would recommend you start with Scott Kelby's books on photoshop to learn the basics and beyond. It really helps to understand what you are doing. Thanks for reading my review!!

I am planning a trip to Belize, Roatan & Cozumel on the Carnival Magic & have been thinking about your fabulous photographs. Low & behold your thread has been popping up again! Thanks so much for all the time & effort in your review - it is beyond amazing....truly a breath of fresh air!

Lol.... I honestly have not even read my own thread from start to finish. Maybe one day when I am not so busy, I will try to do that. I love when this thread pops up again too - really makes me excited to write that review on the Breeze in November!

In Belize, we were supposed to Captain our own boat and couldn't due to weather... even though I didn't get to do it... I'd still highly recommend it. Victor Bodden in Roatan is perfect if you want to do your own thing and have your own transporation all day to take you wherever you want to go.

I can't believe they let you take pictures in the galley! I've done the Chef's table 3 times, only once was it in the galley and they were steadfast on the no pictures rule :(

I will say this: I showed the chef some of the shots I took on my camera and told him that I would do an amazing photo review of the Chef's Table experience. Many people have said they won't allow you to take photos and this may be the case in general. I know a lot of Chef's Table reservations have been made off of my review here and my entire Dream review so I think showing photos is a good thing.

I think they may be worried that in the background of a photo, there may be something happening behind the scenes that they don't want the public to see. Or that if they allow photos, people will get up from the table and walk around snapping away and disrupt service, etc. There's really no way to police this well and let's face it, some people will stand on top of another person to get a good shot.

Thanks so much! I will say that despite the photos making the food look good, the food actually did look good and was incredible. Many people use food photography to make food look more appealing than it actually is and that wasn't the case here.
