  1. I just got off the Royal Princess this morning. I wasn't prepared for how

Nice the ship was. It was so elegant. On the ship the lines were pretty

Much non existence. The service was wonderful. Food was excellent.

I was very impressed with the breakfast buffet. They had lots of stuff I

Never knew you could eat for breakfast. All my dinners in the dining

Room were excellent. None of the issues "the haters" talked about

Made any difference in my cruise. Can't wait to sail the Royal Princess

    Again in the future.

    Hi JP

Glad you had an enjoyable time on the Royal. How could you not? It's a fabulous ship.

  2. Enjoy your last day on board Dave. It's been fun following your adventures in dining. I am envious of all the variety available to people who do not restrict their diet. Actually Princess needs to up the game for vegetarians. It's getting pretty boring, and they can do a lot better.

I haven't yet written to Princess about their vegetarian offerings but I plan to.

    Your pictures were just great.

  3. Thanks' date=' Dave. That was fun to watch. Since Mark was always taking the pics and videos, it's nice to see him in something. I love reliving this cruise. Can't get enough of it. Are you keeping up with Dave's thread on the Royal? His pics are great.

    Eileen[/quote']

Yes. It's awesome. He tells all and shows all with great pictures. It's a Royal education. (refresher course for us.)

  4. Absolutely fantastic - I cannot imagine the number of hours and the patience this took. Also, so many places we seemed to have missed on the Royal; must try harder on the Regal!

What an advert for Princess Cruises - trust you receive all Royalties.

    Thank you.

Thanks. It took quite a bit of time but well worth it. I hope you have a great time on the Regal. You will always find something you missed the first time.

    And no, no Royalties. :)

Wow! Just watched this wonderful video of the Royal. Thank-you for taking the time to put this together and posting it. We are not traveling till mid June 2014 and boy I can't wait. So many places to explore. Thanks again. Oh I didn't think it was too long.

    Alene & Marty:)

Alene & Marty hope you have a great time on the Royal in June. You must be doing the Baltics. I love that cruise.

  5. And wasn't it fun! I probably would never had volunteered to be in the choir if it wasn't for the Rockin' Royals song. So glad I did! Our group was great and so was our audience! I wouldn't hesitate to do it again! BTW, one other song we sang was Hit the Road Jack. :p

Lynda, I uploaded a video of your rehearsal. You are really going to town in that one. :)

  6. Dave, I thoroughly enjoyed the first leg of your back to back. I have never seen anyone eat so much food on a cruise ship :) And your pictures are a tribute to the quality of an iphone. Unbelievable that all those pictures were taken with only a cell phone. I have to say you do know how to use a camera, and the results would be great regardless of camera used.

Looking forward to the next segment.

  7. Dave, this is fabulous! Is there any way I can save a copy of this? It's such a wonderful memory of our cruise.

    Hi Donna,

I think there are some programs that let you capture what's on youtube. I googled it and came up with one called keepvid.

    Donna

Terrific video, Dave....great music, too...I wish you would've recorded your cabin, unless it was inside or just a window...there has been alot of complaints about the smaller balconies on this ship, along with the much smaller balconies on the new NCL Breakaway...my friend was on the Breakaway with his wife in June, and although he loved the cruise, he DID say breakfast on the balcony for 2 was next to impossible...this is something my wife & I love to do....BTW, did you notice what kind of draft beer there was on board? DRAFT, not bottled...it's nice to hear that Princess has listened to their passengers & will add the aft adult pool to the Regal next year, along with a walking promenade ( I love walking around a ship after dinner or anytime, really, so that's a pet peeve for me..)...the lack of a mid-ship staircase is really dumb..sometimes I wonder who thinks of such stupid omissions...RCI Oasis & Allure, both whom I've cruised & loved, also has the lack of a walking promenade....just got off the Disney Dream a month ago...walking promenade on deck 4 was probably the best I've ever seen out of 29 cruises and over 50 ships visited....elevators & stairs everywhere....be interesting to see how the Regal turns out after the changes...

    Big Al

I am a teetoler so I haven't looked into what is offered in the beer department. I am glad I don't drink, it saves me a lot of money on cruises. There are more bars than you can shake a stick at.

The Regal will have some changes that people have been clamoring for so we should hear less complaints.

  8. Hi Dave:), your photo review is rather interesting and well done, what I like about it is that you have included VIDEOS with your presentation and they play without us having to switch to another viewing format, rather neat.;)

I read that you used "Photodex" , I searched for it and it seems to be part of "FLICKR" RIGHT?

    Is it a free download?

    Mike:)

    Hi Mike,

I don't think Photodex is associated with Flickr unless a merger took place recently I don't know about.

You can download it and try if for free but in the end you have to purchase it.

  9. Dave...we enjoyed meeting you onboard & your wonderful presentation of our 18 day cruise! :D

We rarely purchase the Reflections videos because we prefer to have something like you produced. It's too bad that Princess' Reflections is only of a few passenger events which are mostly dancing passengers.

That isn't what I remember from my cruises but this amazing presentation is one we'll always remember. :)

    Hi Frank,

It was meeting you too. Judy talks highly of you and wanted me to meet you, so I am glad I had the opportunity.

Cruising brings you in contact with some of the nicest people, and that part of cruising I value highly.

  10. Wonderful video, Dave, and it brought back some wonderful memories of our TA on this beautiful ship. As you said, there is a lot to like and we enjoyed every minute. Enjoyed meeting you and your wife one day in the Library and hope our paths will cross again in the future. I would sail on her again in a minute. We did have spectacular sunrises and sunsets on the crossing--thanks for sharing!

I remember having a nice chat with you Professor. Hope to meet you and your lovely wife again on another cruise.

  11. Loved, loved this video!! someday I am going to learn how to put things together like this!! We are into photography and have a ton of pictures of every ship we go on, so I am sure we could do this!! May I ask what program you use?

Don't keep putting it off, you will have too many pictures to work on. I use a program called Proshow gold by Photodex corporation. It's quite intuitive and fun to use.

  12. I wonder if you can give me additional information about the Pop choir. I noticed the rehearsal times in the Patter that someone posted a few days ago. What kind of music did you rehearse? When and where is the final performance?

Eileen or Lynda can supply more information on this since they were involved and wrote one of the songs called Rockin' Royals sung to the tune of Rockin' Robin. Rockin' Royals was the name of our Cruise Critic group.

I know they practiced sometimes in the Piazza and thats where they had final performance.

Some of the songs were Rockin' Royals, Under the boardwalk, You are just too good to be true, I'd like to teach the world to sing and O what a night.

  13. All this out pouring of appreciation has never been more deserved so let me add mine. I followed your thread for a long time when we were planning our maiden TA and the ship was like an old acquaintance when I boarded her in October.

This cruise for you has been a long time coming and I am sure you are going to have the time of your life.

    Bon voyage.

  14. Dave: we spent a couple of hours wandering the halls on the Royal viewing the great photos from PCL cruisers. I'm sure yours were among our favorites.

It was like visiting an art gallery. An unpublished activity for passengers on the Royal.

Do you know if the Regal will have any of your photos displayed?

    Jack

    Hello Jack,

I enjoyed looking at all the pictures too. I think many people did. Most wished that the locations were included.

I am not sure if the Regal will have any of my pictures. I know they didn't run an open contest like they did for Royal. There were over 50,000 pictures sent in so they still have a lot to choose from.

They are planning to include the location where the picture was taken on the ones on the Regal.

  15. Thanks. I'm looking forward to more of your slide shows.

We found all of your photos on the Royal the afternoon of our CC luncheon. Beautiful work, and quite an accomplishment to have had so mant chosen . It was a great way to spend some time and burn a few calories.

    Joanie

Thanks Joanie. It made me proud to see my pictures on the walls. Thanks for taking the time to find them.
