Will Radar or Hawkeye be there? Sorry, couldn't resist
-
I didn't think it was anymore crowded than other ships we've sailed on, it only seemed that way because the ship's layout itself isn't conducive to alot of people.
I forgot to mention how SLOOOOOOWWWWWW the elevators are AND how they shoved fake news CNN down our throats[/quote
Fake news CNN??? Why did you have to go there? You were doing so well.................................thank you for playing, we have some lovely parting gifts for contestant mrsd2fan
Like I said... MY opinion and until the Libs start running the country..I'm an Ameican and I'm entitled to it. Thanks for trying to silence me, but it's a no go

We always cruise within a 4 week window (feb/march). Liberty x2, Freedom x2, Breeze x2 and Vista once. I don't think the Vista was any more crowded than any other ship we've been on. In my opinion, you can't beat the food options on her.

Thanks for your interesting review. Was this your first Carnival cruise?
No, this was our 2nd. The first time was in 2005. This was our 5th cruise altogether, the other 3 were RC.

Did you do the 6 or 8 day cruise?? On our 8 day..the barbeque was open a total of 5 days (including embarkation day)....Also since you've cruised RCL....I can understand why you felt ship was cramped and not spectacular. Thats the reason we do not cruise RCL.... Too big and too much going on. Feel like we are at a resort. Cruise feeling isn't there.
We did the 8 day. It may have been opened 5 days, but the hours were an hour and half here, 2 hours there....unfortunate.
I suggest you try a Voyager class ship on RC and let me know what you think

There's not much left of Orient as far as beach bars. The beach has been devastated and there's a lot of rubble still laying around, I mean ALOT of rubble. It's heartbreaking.

We got off the ship and walked a little ways and found Destiny (her booth will be on the right) who for 30 dollars a person drove us all around the island and gave us history. It would have been 20 dollars a person had we not wanted to go to the beach.
The best part of the trip was the stop at the Fort...absolutely amazing. I only wish we hadn't opted to go to the beach, because we would have liked to have stayed at the Fort Longer...amazing views and incredible history.
There were other stops as well. This island is AMAZING! And Destiny is incredibly friendly and accommodating

Very nice review....question if i may....how were the crowds for the shows/comedy club/overall?
We didn't do any shows, but there always seemed to be a long line to get into the comedy shows

Nice ship. Not grand like RC ships. Friendly employees. Stateroom not kept clean like those on RC, but I'm not high maintenance, so it's ok. Our Stateroom attendant was ALWAYS working, and knew our names, which was great.
Food....nothing stood out in the MD to me, but the BBQ restaurant was very, very good, however, they are hardly ever opened and it's annoying.
I would not suggest booking a room on the 9th deck..you hear EVERYTHING from above. Also, our windows creaked....ALOT!
The sky ride was fun, scary, but fun.
As far as the pics they take(Pixels)...we had ALOT of other people's pictures on our portfolio and it was hard to find any of the other photos that were taken of us other than the ones they asked for our stateroom #.
The Serenity area was nice, but not big enough and even though it was supposed to be adults only, there were people who brought their kids. Also, the hot tub was not in the least hot.
Red Frog Brewery. Meh....
Chair Hogs...now, these are the rudest people in existence. We saw one woman going from chair to chair while keeping a towel on the other chairs. Carnival REALLY needs to enforce there chair policy. It sucks to have to wonder around the ship looking for a spot to sit in the sun. SOOOO many chair with towels, but no one in them.
A good thing Carnival does is pay tribute to our military. This was the best thing on the ship, IMO.
Would I sail again on Vista...no way, but not because of the employees, they were all hard working people, but because the ship is cramped and not spectacular.

If you plan on doing a beach day on GT, I suggest you DO NOT do the beach in front of Margaritaville. Garbage all around and drug deals. I would suggest heading down towards Jack's Shack..beach is MUCH nicer and MUCH less crowded

The worst excursion was the "Turtle Farm" in Grand Ccayman. It still haunts me. Why I didn't realize what it really was when we booked it is beyond me.
-
No, through tripadvisor

In reading the information, it indicates we should be at the designated area a 1/2 hour before the tour starts. Now the tour starts at 10, but we don't dock until 10. What to do?

Our flight home (I hate to even think about coming back to this cold, miserable, high taxed state) is late and we will want to store our luggage some place so we can explore Miami. Any suggestions? Thanks!

thanks everyone!!!

Do they normally just shut everything down on board?
-
are there irons in the rooms? how about blow dryers?
Thank you

Hello-
Since airfare out of Syracuse is sooooooo expensive, I'm looking at alternative options. Flying into FLL is cheaper, but I'm wondering if a cab ride to our place in Wynwood area would negate the savings..does anyone have any idea how much a cab ride would be? or are there alternative modes of transportation?

If you rent a bagger, you can lock your things up

Thanks!!!

Are we allowed to do the online check in before the final payment is done?

If you want a beach, check our Friars and Carambola. I thought it was pretty and we had a good time there. Look in my signature line and go to St Kitts and find Carambola. There's TONS of pictures. Decided for yourself. If you've never seen a black sand beach, you can walk down from Carambola and see the most beautiful sparkly black sand ever. It was beautiful. :)
I checked your St. Kitts Carmbola signature thingy and when I clicked on it it said San Juan, so am I looking at San Juan or St. Kitts?
-
Thanks! Since snorkeling isn't great and the beach you suggested will probably be crowded..what else is there to do on St. Kitts?
-
So, I read that St. Kitts doesn't really have good beaches....so tell me...what else is there to do? Is there snorkeling? If so, is the island good for snorkeling? Can you recommend a good tour guide for this?
NCL vs RCL

We've only sailed on RCL and Carnival. Last Carnival cruise was a tad disappointing. Has anyone ever sailed on both RCL and NCL? If so which do you prefer and why?
