  1. We’ve done tours to Paris on 2 cruises.  The tour including the Louvre, and lunch in the Eiffel Tower is amazing.  The Seine River Cruise is also great.  Lunch was delicious,  wonderful music, including beautiful solo passing Notre Dame Cathedral.  Definitely

    experience Paris!

Almost always it's Da Vinci DR Deck 6 Midships.  Crew will try to send you to buffet - but ask where MDR lunch is.

Salmon, or Pasta, or a burger, couple appetizers.

Club Class doors are starboard side.

    Will Club Class be open?

  3. Heart of the Rockies Rail Tour 1A -

there have been some amazing detailed reviews of the Wilderness Lodges tours...

looking for the same for the Rail Tour noted above

    any links, reviews, much appreciated

We did this cruise tour the end of May, 1st week of June this year. The land trip was excellent! I’m not going to do a complete review but will cover major points.

Our tour group included 11 couples, 6 US, Australia, S Africa, Scotland, Wales, England. The group was small enough to get to know everybody. Our guide was excellent, a woman from Vancouver.

Hotels were all from the Fairmont chain, except the 1 the train used. Accpmatations 1st class. Most all meals were included, and were able to order off the menus. Breakfasts were buffets, offering pretty much anything you’d want.

All the excursions were top notch, no need to lpurchase any additional ones,

The rail portion was very scenic, good food and drinks! One couple had upgraded to a gold package by their TA. They felt it wasn’t worth the money, Princess books the silver package. All seats face forward, with large windows for viewing.

Our weather was wonderful, most days in the 70s, no rain. Lake Louise was still frozen, waterfalls were impresssive from snow melting. We heard the loud thunder from avalanches along with the cascading snow.

We saw Elk, Moose, Bears, and Eagles, more than we’d seen on our Alaskan land trip.

The trip is expensive but was a truly memorable experience!

  4. The most amazing for me

Alaska and the palaces of Russia. Russia because it was so different then I expected.

Places I would never tell anyone to go - Panama Canal

    The sail away from Venice

    Statue of David in Florence

    Alaskan glaciers, and wilderness

Sailing into NewYork harbor after Hurricane Sandy, Statue of Liberty, surrounding areas without lights

    Sistine Chapel

  5. Love the Window Suites, the perks for the Suites are all the same. Club Class on the Grand this spring was awesome. There was a dedicated head waiter for all sittings. On sea day lunches he prepared fresh pasta dishes, often different from menu ones. He also prepared omelets to order for breakfast. The wait staff was top notch. Friendly, fun and excellent survice. The ship is older but the condition was good. Recently off the Coral, their CC dining was a huge disappointment. You won't regret booking a WS I guarantee!

  6. I read the first few pages of this thread and the last 4-pages.

I did not see any reviews or comments regarding the food and service from a recent Club Class guest.

We were on the Ruby a couple of weeks ago and dined around 7:30pm and the Club Class was almost empty every night.

I think we will try out Club Class dining next month on the Grand. It would be great to hear what folks have to say about the food and service. :D

Hi, we just finished a cruise on the Grand in CC. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

There was a minimal wait a couple of evenings for table turn overs, never more than 5 minutes. Tables for 2 were often sized for 4, and always available. Sharing tables were harder to get, given the immediate seating and service.

The food was delicious, special dishes as listed in previous post. The head waiter also prepared omelets to order for breakfast, and fresh pasta dishes for lunch on sea days. Our next cruise is in a suite and CC is giving Sabatinis a good competition for breakfast.

The entire CC staff were very friendly and efficient. Service was excellen. The mini suite was wonderful with midship location.

  7. Do the boats for the Panama canal excursion have air conditioning?

As Pam said lower cabin was cool. Outside hot, humid and wet, due to several downpours.

That said it was a fascinating trip. One of my all time favorites! You are able to see close up the locks operations. If you get a chance to read Path Between the Seas before your trip it tells the history of the Canals construction. Very interesting and informative.

It is an all day excursion, we were late returning, and actually had a police escort back to the ship. Lights, sirens, tour guide said cruise ships are very

Important to Panama. Ended up at least an hour late to ship, which did wait for

    us.

  8. Ask your Dr. first. I was going to say maybe someone knows if testing is done(from their own experience). Changed my mind, speak to your Dr. and see if he clears your husband to leave the country.

Of course we we will check with Cardiologist before going. My question is can they do a finger stick INR on the ship. His Cardiologist will be responsible for dosage.

  9. We're booked on a TA, and British Isles cruise in April. My husband has recently started on Coumadin. Will it be possible to have an INR test done on the Caribbean Princess? We would then email the result to his cardiologist for dosage. I'm not sure how to contact medical services in Seattle to check. I'm sure he's not alone with this issue on longer cruises. Our cruise will be 30 days, the longest we've ever done!

  10. We are booked on the British Passage, April 20th, from Ft Lauderdale.

The excursions were recently posted. The odd thing is you are unable to

Reserve them now. It states reserve on board, or wish list. We've done close to 20 Princess cruises and have never seen this. Wondering if we will have to wait until boarding to reserve. There are a couple tours we aren't comfortable doing on our own. A Berlin and a Paris due to distance from port.

  11. Greetings,

Having just returned from our CARIBBEAN PRINCESS CRUISE (4-18 to 4-25), I looked for the emailed survey that we were told about on our trip. I couldn't find it. The reason might be due to my email box overflowing as it exceeded the allotment provided by my ISP. I telephoned my ISP, and they didn't find the Princess Survey. SO...

Does anyone know who I should contact about having another Survey Email sent to me? I know how important these things are to the Cruise Lines and I like to participate in them.

Thanks in advance for your help on this one!

    Debjo

I was emailed another survey by Princess last fall when this happened to me. Hopefully this is standard policy, as I hadn't requested it.

  12. Hi. For the full suite passenger breakfast in Sabatini's, is it offered on turn around day or are they closed that morning?

    Thanks.

We just finished a 9 day (5 day Western Caribbean and 4day Eastern) in a Vista

Suite on the Ruby. Sabbatini's was closed on both turnaround days.

  13. We are considering a cruise tour next Aug. We would spend 6 nights on the land tour (Paris, Avignon, Narbonne, Carcassonne) before arriving in Barcelona to board the Regal Princess to start our cruise. Has anyone done this land tour? We did a Princess land tour in Alaska last year before our cruise and it was fabulous. Just wondering how this tour is and is it worth the $$. Thanks. Linda

My husband and I did a land tour in Italy,in October prior to a Med. cruise

and it was fantastic! The hotels used were all 4 star, tours and meals that were included were top notch. The guide that accompanied us was terrific very involved. Our Alaska Trip had been our favorite, but Italy outshines Alaska. Although Expensive it was well worth the cost!
