  1. Wow, I do remember the skeet shooting! My 1st cruise was about age 11 and...almost 50 now. When did that disappear? My husband and son (daughters?) would love to do this, but in the 9 years of our annual cruises, I have never seen it. Is it considered non-green? I'll bet some of the cruises going around Africa wish they had these!:) I wish they still had this!

The skeets, or clay pigeons if your from the UK, were not biodegradeable so it was not allowed to use them at sea. I think Cunard tried a type of biodegradebale skeet but a high proportion broke when being launched so they were not a success.

  2. Just a small question. Does anybody know why the Nieuw Amsterdam is spelled in the Dutch language (Nieuw/New), while the Ryndam is spelled in an unknown language? It not spelled in Dutch which would result in Rijndam and it is neither spelled in the English language. Cause that would give Rhinedam.

    Greetz,

I believe it was going to be called the Rijndam but the sales and marketing people thought this would be do difficult for non-Dutch passengers so they had it changed to the phonetic english Ryndam to make it easier to spell and pronounce.
