I really wish people would just follow the rules and be paitient. If everyone would just do that things would go smoothly.

So will they limit the amount you can purchase?
You were previously allowed only 1 liter ea.

Why don't you just move the cruise to another date. They will do that talk to a resolution specialist.

I like both ports, but you know how it is...once you do it many times something new would be nice! I wonder if doing the Bahamas itinerary with key west like how serenade does it out of new orleans is doable? ports are very close, but there are probably issues I don't know about.
The Magic does that itinerary and the Rhapsody went to Key West when it sailed from Galveston. So it is doable. I would love for them to do the Key West port again.

We sailed out of Galveston in early April of 2009 and we had fog delay returning to Galveston. I think we docked by noon time.

We had issues once returning in the 1st part of April. But generally this is the worst time of year.

We have been to Playa Mia but not this park. It looks like there is more do to at Chakanaab. Are there clean restrooms and changing areas there? And can you rent snorkel gear there?

The distance from the airport is not the issue. Port Canaveral is about the same distance from MCO as Galveston is from HOU. However, for fly-in cruisers, Port Canaveral is far superior to Galveston. There are mutiple rental car agencies open every day of the week with shuttles to the port. There are multiple hotels available at reasonable prices with no 2 day stay requirement on the weekend.
My impression is that Port Canaveral welcomes and promotes the cruise business, whereas Galveston just tolerates it.
In my opinion Port Canaveral and Ft Lauderdale have their act together. Galveston does need some help with getting passengers in and out of the port.

I am with you! Someone please fix the webcam!!
Remind me again why we are on this board? We no long really have a cam to watch our beloved RCL ships. All we get is a bow shot of Carnivore and a brief look as it sails away. (Or in if you are an early riser on Sunday.) Galveston really needs to spring for a decent cam of both ships.Rant over..... (for now)

Yes it was. My sister and her hubby are on the Mariner!

We have used Ez cruise getting to the ship has been fine it is getting back to the parking lot afterwards. Don't get me wrong they are very nice there. They just need larger vehicles. The last cruise we had to stand in the rain waiting for a shuttle for quite sometime then people start cutting in line. We have even got tired of waiting and we have walked back to our truck. There needs to be some organization. You don't have these issues in Florida. I will say the port has made some changes with the traffic control but they still need some other changes. Private cars need to have another drop off spot. Shuttle buses should have priority. Just my opinion. :)

Love the Mariner, I will be sad to see her leave Galveston.
Does anyone in this group ever park at the Lighthouse? If so how are they?
Or does anyone have any recommendations for parking there? We want to try someone new.

I just found out about the new 2009 itinerary for the Conquest going to the Bahama's. We have only cruised RCL and with the new itinerary and being able to sail from Galveston we are going to give Carnival a try. Can anyone tell what is the best deck to be on? We would like a balcony cabin suggestions?

We were on Rhapsody in October 2004 & 2005 and the formal nights were Monday and Thursday.

Do they serve Mango Tangos on the Navigator of the Seas.
Do the optional resturants have good food?
We have only sailed on Rhapsody of the Seas.
This will be our first time on the Navigator of the Seas.
:)

We will be sailing eastern.

Can anyone tell me which nights are formal nights on the Navigator of the Seas?
And which formal night do they serve Lobster?
We are sailing in January 2007 for our 25th anniversary.:)

We received nice tote bags and some frames I enjoyed those not the caps so much. I would rather have them bring back the chocolates on the pillows at night.
