  1. Leaving from Long Beach, cant check in until 1p.m. Can we check our luggage early? We are staying on the Queen Mary, will they hold your luggage until you head to the cruise ship? We will not have a car. Also is there anything to do within walking distance of the Queen Mary?

  2. Water prodding sneakers will be fine. I water proffer mi e and they stayed dry and I waked though deep snow on Grouse mountain in Vancouver. Also had rain one day. They stayed dry.

  3. There is a shop in Denali that carrries fabric right across the road from McKinley chalet resort. Not sure of the hours of all the shops in port. I was able to get to 5 shops. Went to Whales Tale in Ketchikan, Changing Tides in Juneau, Rushin Tailors in Skagway,I think it was called Northen Heart Origial in Denali, and Quilted Raven in Anchorage. I got many new projects to do.

  4. It shouldn't affect you flying to Canada now; whether or not it might affect your flight back into the US on the return remains to be seen. Tablets, Kindles, and digital cameras are all on the list of electronics currently banned on some flights from the Middle East, and it may affect flights to the US from other locations.

We are flying home fron Anchorage. So we still should be good. I can live without the tablet, just use it for movies. But don't really want to put cameras in packed luggage.

  5. Are ticks a problem? We are doing a Rain forest, raptor exclusion and they suggest a hat or beanie. Is it because it's cold or a different reason?

  6. Darn will miss the quilt show. But will be happy just to hit quilt shops. Not that I need fabric. I want fabric. So I guess that means I need fabric.:D

  7. Hoping for the best. I plan on also having a carry on with a few days clothes in it. So if luggage is delayed I have clothes. Does the airport in Vancouver deliver it to you if it got delayed or do we have to go back to the airport to get it? The only way flight out of Omaha would be delayed would be weather or mechanical. Since it is early in the morning I would think it is the first flight that plane has. Husband says we are keeping flight times. Why do women only worry about things like this.

  8. I don't plan on cases of soda just a few bottles. I like my root beer. We have the beverage package. Just want a few in the room so I don't have to run to the bar all the time. Not planning on a lot of snacks either. That would be great if we can get to our room right always, we always had to wait to get to our room on other ships. Not sure what time we will get to port. I. So ready to get away just need to get though the rest of the school year.

  9. We are on the Noordam on May 21st. I have a few questions since we never sailed on Holland before.

    1. Is it still ok to bring pop on your carry on?

    2. Is it ok to bring small amounts of snacks on board in you carry on or checked in ? ( such as chips, beef jerky)

    3. What is the best time to go down to port to go through customs and get on board

4 how soon does it take for to be able to get into your room and how soon does your luggage arrive?

    Thanks for any help.

  10. When we first booked this flight we had a hour layover. It is not the TA fault that Alaskan Airlines changed the time. I think we are just going to keep it, and if we miss it hope to catch another flight. I may not get to see Vancouver as I would like. As long as there are no delays in Omaha and the pilot flies fast we hope to be ok. I'm a planner but if all else fails we have a whole day to get to Vancouver. I am not sure I can change the husbands mind. Thanks for advice. I really just needed a place to vent.

  11. Our flight leaves Omaha at 6:47 am and arrives Portland at 8: 39 am. Leaves Portland at 9:10 am. Husband does not seem to worry . I am the worrier of the two of us. Travel agent called the airline, airlines says we will be fine. I'm hoping we are not the only ones on that flight trying to catch the same plane.

  12. We have looked into all the flights leaving Portland and not much choices. Only one other direct flight later in the day. Other ones would be connecting flights. At least we don't have to go through customs until we hit Vancouver. The flight times changed from when we booked. Hoping it all works out. We were hoping to explore Vancouver before our cruise. Just one more stressful thing to add to my stress list.

  13. our flight times have changed. We now have only a short layover in Portland. Only 30 minutes. Our travel agency called Alaskan Airline and they say we have plenty on time. Sure hope we and are luggage make it. We fly in the day before so we should be ok. Hope we leave our first flight on time.
